He just described a bunch of moving into deeper AAA space, especially with not using AI it just means a load of grunts churning out texture packs when the gameplay is not at all better. More overhead and more dev time. Additionally it will bring more of a gap between portable and home gaming because you need steep integration with your home monitor hardware, stuff like frame syncing to avoid screen tearing.
An interesting idea worth mentioning The LEGACY Code name reminds me more so of Star Fox. I don't know what Star Fox code names are but legacy plays a major role in the starfox series. Fox became the leader of starfox to continue his fathers legacy as well as his son Marcus in command. Miyamoto himself said the series is about children follow their parents footsteps. It would be good to know what kind of code names starfox gets. Its just a theory
I really think Legacy will be the new fantasy IP Monolithsoft has been teasing for a while now. I'm sure Xenoblade will continue but I don't see the next game coming for a while. I hope we see a DE of X and maybe even a sequel to X before moving onto XC4 tbh (Takahashi did express interest in doing it). As for Legacy being something different, I hope whatever they make still retains the JRPG essence as that's what I think Monolithsoft does best and sets them on the standard of Square Enix, Falcom, and Bandai Namco. All of their games (namely Gears, Saga, Blade and Baten Kaitos) all pushed the JRPG genre forward in meaningful and revolutionary ways so I hope they don't simplify the game too much or pander to a new audience. What I think they could do is fix already existing problems (overall navigation, usability, tutorials) and design a combat system that still has a lot of depth and complexity, but is a bit more approachable than Xenoblade. I think xc3 was a good step in the right direction too. Regardless I'm super excited for whatever they're gonna release next 👌🏽😎👍🏽

So because the tweets were deleted I have seen people suggest Midori was only speculating it was Monolith Soft, but I actually have the screenshots and this what he said word for word: "Legacy is a project in development by Monolith Soft. It is in development with Nintendo. So it is not an external company. This is a Nintendo published title." He said it definitively is a Monolith Soft project. While I think this makes sense, I think it's much more likely to be a new IP; Mainly given how Nintendo has consistently launched a console with a new IP (Arms, Nintendoland, Wii Sports, Luigi's Mansion, etc). These IPs typically are used to utilize the new hardware/gimmicks, and given Switch 2 is supposedly mainly a graphical upgrade and how great Monolith is at optimizing their games, I could see it being a new Nintendo IP to really show off the new console that would come on launch day

The temperature among people who LIKE Xenoblade is strongly that it's run its course, and the next Xeno game will be a brilliant move forward. And so it's no wonder how comic books have "fans" and the same hero is rebooted over and over again. Manga has readers, and it's permanently vibrant.

If its anything projecting from those mysterious few job listing screens We have , this honestly could turn out to be a far bigger hit that bona fide titles like Nier Automata. I feel like that's a waste of their talent. Grezzo is more than capable of remaking OoT if that's what Nintendo is going for. Monolith Soft should make something new.

Uh... xenoblade didn't complete anything. Xenoblade 3 just returned the series to the status quo that was presented to us at the end of the first two games. It's story, while fantastic, did nothing to move the plot forward.

I dont know if any of the Xenoblade games "progress the plot" much. They are 99% their own story. Just heavily built off of the Klaus Saga lore.
