Thank you so much. Picking up my hobby from 15 years ago with an affordable A7iii. Too bad Sony/Adobe doesn't support true tethering directly in Lightroom. But this tutorial showing how to use the Sony software as an in-between really helps.
Thank you. It worked :-) The only note worth mentioning is the Lightroom 'Enable Auto Import' wasn't selectable until the source/destination folders were first set in 'Auto Import Settings'.
Great video explaining the process…late to the party! Can’t believe two giants don’t want to shake hands for the benefit of all end users…thanks for sharing, be safe. Cheers..
Very clear and thorough explanation. I am taking my second semester of photography classes and a couple them require that I shoot tethered with my Sony a7iii. None of my professors seemed especially knowledgable in how to shoot tethered with a Sony since you couldn't do it directly through Lightroom. Their answer when asked was always ask the other professor - lol. Anyway found your video and took all of about 15 minutes to figure it out and now getting my first shots tethered up on screen. I also shared the video with another classmate that uses a Sony a7iii. Thank you so much.
Thanks! Sometimes, you need to mention the small things. Like CLOSE LIGHTROOM. Everyone mentions google drive etc, but I always have Lightroom open and that the ticket to me figuring this out via your video. THANKS!.
this is the best explanation of how to tether your sony to LR! I've followed a couple of videos and the stupid "watched, Destination" folder set up screwed me up every time lol. thanks !
I watched multiple videos trying to get my A7iii connected and struggled to get the tether working. I got it going on the first try with your steps! Thanks for sharing and thanks for making it so simple!
Lol, I wish this video was longer. You have a pleasant attitude, and the kind of chill voice anyone enjoys to listen. Sometimes I speed up 1.5x on tutorials but this video was helpful all the way through!. Try doing an ASMR video & let me know.
Thanks for the video, walked me through getting it setup. I had problems w/ the PC Remote only seeing "mass storgage". It was having a conflict w/ the "control w/ smartphone" in the network tab. In the network tab in the camera, I had to switch "control w/ smartphone" to off, then it opened up the options in the PC Remote.
Hi there! Thanks for watching and for sharing how you resolved your issue. Good to know that the "control with smartphone" needs to be off in order to connect via PC Remote.
THANK YOU soooo much for the clear, concise and easy explanation on how to tether with the a7iii. Coming from a Nikon, it seemed way over complicated, but yiy made it so easy - thank you again!💯
I can totally understand why you are so happy that it connetced, as it actually is close to being a miracle. What a POSony. I use Capture1 as well, and it is easier, but you'd think LR a much larger company and Sony a huge company would have this resolved to be plug and play like Canon or Hasselblad, etc.
I wouldn't consider it a miracle, seeing that if you follow the steps correctly, it is more than possible to connect and get tethered. If you're that upset, then take it up with Sony and contact them directly with your thoughts.
Thank you so much. trying to figured it out for dayyyyy.. and GOD ur video appeared. Do you know why the image appear so slow?? like 4 Seconds slow. it didnt happen with my canon camera. but upgrade to Sony full frame. thank you so much
you are literally the most important person in the world for doing this. holds up in 2023
thanks!! 🫶🙌

Thank you. It worked :-) The only note worth mentioning is the Lightroom 'Enable Auto Import' wasn't selectable until the source/destination folders were first set in 'Auto Import Settings'.

Do you know why the image appear so slow??
like 4 Seconds slow. it didnt happen with my canon camera. but upgrade to Sony full frame.
thank you so much
You're welcome! I think the delay is simply from the time it takes to move the image from camera, to Sony Software, to Lightroom. Thanks for watching!
