- After binging the entirety of Sonic Prime season 3, I had a lot of thoughts that I wanted to discuss with you all. While the show reaches highs that the other 2 seasons haven't, it also stumbles into the same pitfalls that troubled the first two seasons. And now that the series has finished its initial three seasons, where does the latest season stack up against the rest?

I really enjoyed the show. I just really wish we could have gotten more meaningful interactions from the different variants . At one point when Sails and Mangey seemingly died, I thought they were going to show back up and have a confrontation with Nine. Obviously it never happened and I couldn't help but feel there was some missed potential there. I'm glad we kind of got a happy ending, but at the same time I can't help but feel somewhat dissatisfied with how things ended.
Yeah hopefully we get a season 4 or something because theirs 1 missing episode because season 3 has 7 episode not 8 probably they might make the episode 8 the final or probably not because they put episode 7 and 8 together I love this season!!!!!
I was hoping we’d get a dark sonic form when Mangy and Sails ""died"" or new prism forms, worst part is we are left on a cliffhanger and we don’t know what happened to the other variants…
I agree, that Sonic and Shadow's relationship should be similar relationship should feel like Batman and Superman, and sometimes Batman and Superman are also well-known for going into fights and can hate each other. I think if we want Sonic and Shadow are going to be at each other neck, a fusion between Goku and Vegeta and Superman and Batman will work.
I think why the season 3 are saying like when sonic was hurt but in the next episode he was completely fine probably it’s because they where missing the episode 8
@@Earth_onbord I haven’t seen it because it look like it something I would watch when I a kid but not now. Plus it’s fill with a lot of fluff. I’ll check it out once a someone make an edit version
The first episode I recently watch instantly made me feel like it’s goku and vegeta right away.
Loved it. Especially when in the post-credits Shadow used the Chaos Prism to get Latinas.
Personally I didn’t feel tired or bored of how long the fight was but I get where you’re coming from. I had a good time watching this finale and I look forward to see what’s next for the blue hedgehog.
It was a cool season. The only thing im a little upset about is the fact that sonic didnt get his prism-super form thing
Yeah, that was one of the coolest moments in season 2 and they kinda just forgot about it
Tbh, it felt like they were teasing a S4 at the tail end of the show, between the mysterious shadow, the shockwave from S1 returning, and the fate of Shadow and the Paradox Prism is never shown.
Yeah they set it up well to continue it if they get the chance. But also ended things well enough that its a satisfying conclusion if they don't get to do another season.
Overall, I think Prime was a pretty well executed show. I’d even go as far to say that it is the best ‚non comedic’ Sonic show yet. Very happy to see Shadow returning to his 06 characterisation. The big teamup was a nice touch and I‘ve become a big fan of old Eggman 😂.
However, I thought that the fighting scenes (against Nines robots) got a little repetitive and the animation a little stale sometimes. Furthermore , it felt a little dragged out.
On top of that, I feel like the resolution of conflict with the Chaos Concil was a little rushed and a little underwhelming. Guess sacrifices (*cough* budget *cough*) had to be made…
Yeah I would have to agree on how things got a bit repetitive after a while
Oh Doctor Done-It (Old Eggman) was the best by far and the wisest of the group. He told it like it is and wasn’t afraid to listen to the heroes, even if it hurt his and the council’s pride. Also his grumpy grandpa jokes always made me laugh, lol.
I agree with most of your points. The fight did get a tad repetitive and I didn't care for the egg-counsil. The only thing I respectfully disagree with (kinda have to say respectfully or I'll cause a comment gang war) is that the animation got stale. I don't think the animation got old at all. It added a ton of new ways to use it and create new flashy fight scenes and use squash and stretch in new ways
@@SpeedCap_draws Sorry, I think „stale“ was not quite the right word for what I meant to say. The style and the fluidity of the animation was great, definitely with you here. What I meant to say was that many of the robot‘s movements were kinda same-y and also a lot of the fighting scenes (when not focused on a specific character) looked kind of same-y.
I hope this explains my train of thought a little better 😅.
@@ExBenzi2 yea, that makes way more sense. The only robot that had different ways of being animated in fight scenes was Rusty Rose and the fight between alpha Grimm sonic and shadow
I just finished the 3rd season of Sonic Prime, and I REALLY love this show
admittedly, I did wish there were less robot fights in the show, and I do wish it just lasted a bit longer (this is Netflix we're talking so it's not really that surprising it was short), but overall I still love the show, easily an 8/10
I just finished binging the show. I really like this great show, but I kinda wished there were 8 episodes, because maybe they could've flushed out the ending more. It's overall a ok ending could have been better, but it also could've been worse. It's just a bittersweet ending, because I've really enjoyed watching this show, and I almost can't believe that it's over already. Hope for another installment, and if not, this show will go down as one of the best sonic installments yet!
I love the show wish we got more of it.
Sonic Prime was a great show of character development and animation.
I’m hoping for another Man of Action directed Sonic show.
This was great.
Gnarly mentioning a time machine was hilarious. But seriously, the Boscage Maze doesn’t have a time machine.
Shadow was the best character in this show
I called it. I freaking called it. The Chaos Council are final antagonists and Nine becomes good. That and I did see the whole idea of redemption being a focus because you have antagonistic versions of normally heroic characters. Rusty, Thorn, Dread, and in the most recent case Nine. All getting some form of a redemption. The only antagonists that are the exception of course being the Council themselves. Once a Robotnik always a Robotnik I guess.
This was my fav sonic and shadow from all sonic shows, this version my fav. , Liked how they had a very strong sibling/brother relationship. shame didn't get much of shadow screen time till season 3.
I actually liked the long drawn out battle as you got to see more character interactions and sound battle tactics. Most shows and movies have a generic and often forgettball 'last battle scene'.
I just watched and loved it. I give it a 10. I don't care what other people say. The fight scenes were amazing, character growth and interactions were great, shadow was the goat as usual, and I think it also shows how tails could the most powerful villain in the universe if he really wanted to
Season 3 was the best but I would like some more lore content rather than just fighting sense.
I actually liked the action sequences even thought it was really long, i tend to like a lot of action and i loved how much fighting there was
I've been pointing out since season 1 that Sonic not listening to Nine and assuming things was the most serious conflict. And the fact that Nine doesn't get his chance for redemption until Sonic can actively apologize really shows that. Nine spends literally the time from the Season 2 finale to the Season 3 finale saying in no uncertain terms that Sonic broke his trust and that he felt like he was being used, but Sonic never truly confronts that until the end. And I loved the moment when it sank in for Sonic and that by then it's almost too late to talk Nine down and show he's listening.
Sonic went full in on Nine being the only one in the wrong and he makes it pretty clear all season. During the Grim battle Sonic also goes harder in attacking Nine than he has any of his other friends, and even mocking Nine when he's openly hurting himself to keep fighting. This also allows all of his other new friends to completely vilify Nine as well, despite the fact that several of them have already done aspects some of the same things that Nine was doing: Prim lying to Sonic and putting him in danger for help she couldn't give him because she was desperate to feed her friends, Thorn manipulating Sonic to get power to shut her former friends out to let them starve callously to protect her jungle, Dread manipulating Sonic and his crew without concern for their safety and then abandoning them for pure selfishness as well as not being willing to save them without treasure, Rusty being a tool of the council to help conquer everything. They all got their redemption no real questions asked but even when Nine is beaten down, scared and desperate, no one else was willing to give him the chance until Sonic stepped in and then also apologized. And even then no one wanted to trust him, only doing so because there was no other choice.
None of this is a complaint, because I find it genuinely interesting to have so many flawed characters and some of them being hypocrites. It made things feel more real because there was so much fault and so much blame that things couldn't be neatly wrapped up due to the sheer amount of mistrust flying around. And I ended up feeling like the whole battle could have been averted if everyone else hadn't mistrusted Nine more than they trusted Sonic. But then Sonic also wouldn't have learned to trust others to take the lead so it had to happen. And that just ended up making me misty-eyes the whole season.
I rlly enjoyed this season but I’m not a fan of the ending. Hopefully there’s a fourth season
Overall I can't think of a happier ending to this show. Sonic is reunited finally with his friends, Shadow has taken the Paradox Prism away so nobody can ever use it for evil goals ever again, Nine redeems himself to save reality, Dread redeems himself for the sake of his crew, The Chaos Council are now trapped forever in the void thus meaning that the Green Hill of Rebel Rouge's reality can now probably finally start to heal with the people no longer oppressed by Mr. Dr. Eggman. All's well in the multiverse.
Good video, I just hate what they did to ruin Sonic's character like he's unintelligent, had to go all through that to understand friendship like he doesn't know it. Like you said in the video, he's always ready to forgive and is a pure-hearted person
So many cliffhangers! I was literally on the edge of my seat!
I totally thought that Robot Amy was gonna free her birdie after gaining compassion, which would've left her powered down. And then they would've SOMEHOW found the chaos emerald that Shadow dropped in the void and then given it to Robot Amy. Redeeming her character for her actions and giving her a new power as a sort of reward for her redemption.
I was under the impression that the parallel realities had to remerge to restore Green Hill and Sonic's friends but at the same time knew that wouldn't happen and it would go multiverse on us.
It wasn’t the best, and not the worst, it was okay, it seemed pretty rushed for the ending, I kinda wanted more angst, talk, more interactions and bla bla bla, I was so confused with that ending too. I need ANSWERSSS
More talking and less fighting would've been great and would've fleshed things out more
Shadow was killing me through this whole thing 😂. LOVED THIS SHOW!!
I love Shadow in this show!
@@SonicTheory96this is literally the best shadow we’ve had in over 10 years. I hope this translates to future shadow content!
I really did like the sisterhood of Amys, but I wish they got more time together. Because while pirate and robot Amy did have some binding, they didn't have as much with forest Amy. So the sisterhood wasn't AS deserved as it could've been. Also, I totally thought that Robot Amy was gonna free her birdie after gaining compassion, which would've left her powered down. And then they would've SOMEHOW found the chaos emerald that Shadow dropped in the void and then given it to Robot Amy. Redeeming her character for her actions and giving her a new power as a sort of reward for her redemption.
Yeah. It was really drawn out. Ironic that Sonic would tell Nine at the end that friends talk it out but if Sonic listened to his own advice in episode 2, all the fighting could've been avoided. Nine was trying to tell Sonic that he needed Sonic's prism energy to save the world but all Sonic said was "you can't catch me."
Sonic prolonged the damage to all worlds by not listening to Nine and since there was a time limit, Nine had to act the way he did to lure Sonic and repair the prism. Nine was right the whole time and Sonic had no plan to save anyone. Sure he "saved" people from falling here and there but he wasn't fixing the tears and Nine's plan was to fix the tears. The tears weren't even caused by Nine. It was the Eggmen's portals. Man, this Sonic's dumb.
I’m confused cus they said there would be 24 episodes but there’s only are 23 episodes
I think it was 23 episodes instead of 24 because the first episode is twice as long as the others, meaning that it’s technically two episodes in one. So season 1 really have 9 episodes, season 2 has 8, and season 3 has 7. Adding up to 24.
The way the show ended was actually really smart if you think about it. Sonic Prime was given 3 seasons, and it wrapped up its story in a way where if it is never continued, it ended in a nice way. The threat at the end could have just been Eggman with the bigger fleet he was talking about. But if the show is picked up for more seasons, the threat at the end could be the chaos council, leading into Season 4 with sonic and his friends fighting the chaos council.
If that indeed is the Chaos Council at the end, I NEED an interaction between them and OG Eggman
Season 4 better be awesome
Nah
I thought that the shatter spaces would disappear if the Prism was put together. So I don't understand how Sonic's world and the other shatter spaces can exist at the same time.
I was under the impression that the Prism breaking is what CREATED the alternate universes. But this ending suggests that they always existed. What on earth is happening.
You know what? Maybe Sonic deserves a really good animated series. This one seems a little off. Sega knows Sonic better than WildBrain.
I was a little confused about the ending: what happened to all the variants? Did they fuse back to their original counterparts or did they exist in their own worlds? Also did shadow know what had happened in that adventure as well?
I think they just went back to their shatter spaces and resumed back where it happened in season 1 just like sonic, but still have their memories of what happened
Shadow definitely has his memories because his first instinct when he returned was teleporting the Prism somewhere unknown. He did not know about the importance of the Prism before it shattered.
As for the variants, I'm not sure.
On one hand Sonic told them to "take care of each other" and he was not sad whatsoever after he returned home, and it looked like the egg council was the thing that invaded green hill at the end, BUT on the other hand Ian Flynn said that "Prime wiped itself out" which implies that none of the Prime events actually happened and it just reset itself like 06
The pacing felt often season three it felt rushed and it was even some point where I could actually tell when the animation went down and I mind you any other time I’ve never seen that happen. The only times I’ve ever been able to see it is when UA-camrs actually pointed out, that was something new and I really didn’t like it but I do hope we get more eventually
Yeah I really like this episode It was one of the best Shows of Sonic but one question what happened with the other shatterspaces and does it mean theres no more nine or only that sonic went back and the shatterspaces are still there and know Sonic hopefully the other verison of Sonics friends are still there I loved this show!!!!!
What happened to the character who told Knuckles the Dread to go after the Paradox Prism in S3 E6?
sonic created new dimensions a way to have alter worlds without a multiverse before was shatter looks like it got shatter before by the sol dimension was one of them created long a go
and have other peoples beside sonic gang or friends save the worlds before guess he and other villains beside eggman
The creator said he doesn't plan on making more episodes
I honestly would have wished for a longer season 3 and the ending to be honest felt kinda Unsatisfying but thats just me
no Im do see be my mom
I don’t care man, I loved it.
i really don’t understand the fandoms obsession with the lore, why cant we just appreciate the characters and action instead of trying to over complicate and over analyse every single thing. come on man would u prefer 2020 covid sonic where we got nothing but twitter memes instead 💀
The thing is, 5 or so out of 8 episodes were just the same fight
Sonic also tried reasoning with Nine so many times that in the final episode it felt like less of a payoff and more of a “Wait, that’s all it took?”
The other shatterspaces were also underused IMO, we didn’t even SEE the boscage this season
Overall, it feels more like they wanted a reboot of Sonic Forces
@@lilyaka9194 but each time he reasoned with nine, you could tell that sonic was getting to him more and more but it was outside interference or the heat of the battle that caused nine to continue his rampage. idk personally i felt like i watched a completely different seasonn to everyone else cause yeh there was a LOT of fighting but it's the conclusion to the show and most of the fighting was to figure out nine's weakness which is how they beat him in the end
@@lilyaka9194 I called it "talk no jutsu" when that happened, I literally said "wow, Naruto would be so proud of you rn Sonic"
So I guess this show isn’t canon.
That show was ass
Not entirely; it has a lot of potential and cool moments and characters, there’s just a lot of wasted potential
We got a lot of moments between Sonic and Shadow
Cool alternate versions of the cast
Character development
It’s still definitely enjoyable, it just could’ve utilized things better
@@lilyaka9194 Yeah. I was being a bit outlandish with that comment. Just felt burnt by that ending. I just felt like Shadow was the clickbait for each new season then they throw him to the sidelines. Nine was cool. I wish his fighting was more engaging but ended up feeling monotonous with “Respawn,DESPAWN, RESPAWN, DESPAWN.” Like can I actually see his smarts being put to the test? Like. I know this is a kids show but Across and Into the Spiderverse is a kids movie but has a all ages demographic. I just wish they hadn’t waste their potential on this.
Sonic and all 😮😮is ⏲️ for me 😢the ⏲️ and other stuff I need for my own business is a little more about me and 😅😊❤🎉
