Heat is important for handheld devices as powerful and small as the Win Mini. I guess if you live in very cold areas of world; It could be a good thing.
But if you live in a small room or if you live in hot locations like Florida - the heat alone could be a deal breaker.
In terms of performance, size and ergonomics ROG Ally seems to be the gold standard.
It’s only up from here, thorough video as always!

As someone who will do light gaming and tours/travels for a living this is a god send
I did major research on the Win 4, Win mini, Win max 2, and pocket 3, and it seems for the price to performance and formfactor getting the refreshed win mini is the best for me.
it allows you to have a small laptop anywhere and can game decently.
The pocket 3 and max 2 seem amazing but slightly too big to throw in a bag VS the win mini. They are small but its that super portable size that sells it for me.
but even if the pocket and max arent too big its double the price of the win mini at the moment. the intel 7505 refreshed of the pocket 3 has a better keyboard than the win mini and is around $600 but the performance isnt there, and for 200$ more you can get a better performing device which is the win mini vs the pockets 7505

You should try installing tiny 11 on a separate partition and then copying all the files and deleting the main one after you put the drivers and stuff you need on there. And it should run better.
Also 3D print a case for the back of it that adds grips but also a case that lets you put an external battery in the back and plug it directly into the console for extra battery life

I dont get your critics, at 20w and under the hottest i can say it i gets is slightly warm. Its certainly not hot or painful, but then again i also have a samsung ssd instead of the stock ssd which some say got up to 100c. My samsung ssd never goes above 61 usually in the 50s. As for fan, do you not have the fan curve turned on in motion assistant? Because at 20w and below and its quieter then the OG deck. But if you dont use motion assistant it sounds like a jet engine. I have motion assistant set to auto start at start up minimized. Auto tdp also works fantastic with it with a fps limit that you set. Do not download a 3rd party software like you said as none of them work as well as motion assistant with it barely using any resources. Its super simple to use once you learn it. And from the short video you showed of it, you did not have fan curve on which is why your fan is probably as loud as it is.
