you're talking about more visceral. look up bmth 2014 graspop, especially the house of wolves part. it's terrible for your vocal chords from what i've heard but it's more raw and punk. if only there was a way to get that viscerality without slamming your folds together...maybe if you don't do it for long you can still save your voice. oli's voice is shot now; it's hard for me to get into anything the band released after amo with the exception of teardrops, ludens, dear diary and obey, but i'm extremely grateful for what we got. 16 years of some of the best metalcore/deathcore/alternative rock ever made. amo has got to be the best "metal band goes pop" record we'll ever have. bmth got me into metal, but the band is too weird for me now and they're mainstream alternative which is an oxymoron. i would love to have an EP surrounding MANTRA but figured i would have to do it myself and there used to be an extended fan made version of MANTRA by a guy named cherryxepsi but it's gone now for whatever reason. depressing

Dude this man is so goated. So many people hate now and it’s ridiculous to be blind to the fact or just not care that the reason you’re so disappointed is he literally broke his voice to make your favorite records. His cleans and newer screams are still great and the songs come together beautifully. Even if you’re not a fan of the newer stuff, it still sounds good, and you still have reckless and relentless/stand up and scream. Take it easy on em❤️

I think that's a big factor in why so many unclean vocalists sound so similar these days. Back in the 2000s and early 2010s they were out there just going at it and it used more of their own voice, so you had so many unique sounding screams, but they were just wrecking their vocal chords. Nowadays everyone is very conscious of the detrimental effects of improper technique and it's led to them trying to "color inside the lines", so to speak. Been a while since I heard anything as unique as early Danny, Austin Carlisle, or Mike Hranica, just to name a few.

This isn’t Danny who posted this I hope you know so if you’re wanting advice from him you’ll have to get it elsewhere. But personally I’m the opposite. I don’t really “struggle” with lows but I have a harder time hitting lows consistently than I do highs and mids. I’d say just make sure you’re using the fry scream technique and practice with a higher pitched word. For example: I used “Yeah” to practice. Open your mouth wide when you scream “Yeah”, fry your vocals and you should feel the pressure of the scream towards the top of your throat! Hope I could help some 🤘🏻🖤
The heavy drinking didn't help as well too. There's definitely a way to do it that won't damage your throat and it's mainly treating your throat like a muscle and exercising it like any orher muscle.

Will ramos and alex terrible are doing just fine and 100's of other metal vocalists. it's not that it's "too heavy metal" for the human body... it's simple...danny used impropper technique and also ruined his voice with drinking and drugs in the past ontop of that bad technique. if he takes care of his voice and learns how to do use the right techniques and keep his voice relaxed. it will be something he can switch between with ease and no damage. many other vocalists can and so can he. it's something that takes time to develop.
I have always been a fan of metal core bands that sings with cleans I’m not huge on screaming because it does damage vocal cords and it causes surgery a lot of times and I wish people would understand that in the metal world and l love to sing to and I know how it is. I think the issue is AA were hugely popular when Stand up and Scream came out so they were touring heaps. He even did Vocals when he was sick which is probably the worse thing you can do.
