In a radio interview, Lzzy Hale said her band does over 200 concerts per year because they thrive in live performances. I've seen them perform in large arenas and small clubs. It doesn't matter the size of the crowd, Halestorm performs with the same high energy and enthusiasm. It's no wonder that Halestorm won the 2013 GRAMMY for Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance because they earned it.
Halestorm is one of those (all too rare) bands that sounds so much better live than on their albums (and their studio records are GREAT), which is a clear testament to how much they truly LOVE to perform, and LOVE their fans for giving them the opportunity to do this.

+rodentcafeteria Because there are techniques that allow you to distort your singing voice and scream with minimal damage if any at all since the vibrations then are in the soft pallet of your mouth or your fake vocal chords
+rodentcafeteria some people are possessed of that a unique connection to that spark of creativity, and they know how to channel it like a living goddess.
THIS woman the voice of a rock goddess, especially with scream, definitely my favorite song. Lovr how her voice is pure talent and not studio make up crap
I’m amazed that one person can convey so much power with so much femininity, singing with such vulnerability at the same time as righteous anger… and it all comes together perfectly.
Can someone please tell me why Halestorm is such a bad ass band? Lzzy is intensity personified, she almost reminds me of a younger James Hetfield during the Justice era where he had the same aggression, and intensity on stage.
I agree. There are songs I skip every time they come up when I'm listening to an album, but I LOVE to hear then do those songs acoustically (for example "What Sober Couldn't Say")
Iron Maiden has been doing that routine for 40 years. I can barely listen to any studio song by Maiden, because it gets 10times better when you listen to a live version.
bass sounds great but the guitars dual. drums great and the vocal amazing. Lizzy sing just her vocal is awesome. Interaction with the crowd is great, but those guitars just make me wanna tear my ears off. I know its a recording of a live event and i definitely know if i was there, there would be reverb.
this sounds so good omg, i'm kinda new with Halestorm and i've watched some videos of a few years ago (2012 or so) and i noticed she sounds better then, is she having probles with her voice rn or i'm just paranoid about nothing?
Jack Cypher no ... her voice will continue to decline with this style and age. she has been rocking a long damn time ... since what, her early teens???
of course, they have a lot of concerts and a voice can't remain completely undamaged, but it also changed. her voice is rougher than before and it was a process for idk 1-2 years (i found them couple moths ago and seriously regret all the time before so i haven't been following before and this is what i think) they need a break now tho
Lzzy and the drummer are rockstars, the other 2 not so much. I mean they sound fine, not saying anybody can't play, but ZERO stage presence. They just have no juice by comparison.
They preform hundreds of shows a year *HUNDREDS* Michael Jackson couldn't do that, and when they tried to make him do fifty he said it would kill him. You can't expect them to always be hyper an energetic like the rest, are you telling me you have never had a day where you just didn't feel up to the task of facing the world, let alone bounce around like an animal whilst playing guitar!
They’ve definitely improved and they (usually) play an average of 200 shows a year so it’s understandable how they’re probably struggling a little. Take a look at them play here :) ua-cam.com/video/2COzYPI5eBA/v-deo.html

D Lee oh man, so they too are in love with the HAZE, which is another device song which is about to the addiction to the drug of the live performance
D Lee it's cause THERE BAD FUCKIN ASS
Perfect comment
Im sorry it took me untill 2017 to discover them. I love these guys!

I'm so glad there's still bands out there that actually sound good Live.
Most of the rock and metal bands do sing good in live.
Yeah, I but I've been burned before, lol
+Mahi R No they don't. Not these days.
I raise you Nightwish with Floor Jansen ;)

Every time I hear "I am the fire" on the radio, I wonder how in the hell she could possibly sing that song night after night with the same intensity?
Lots and lots and lots of talent!
+Heather Bradley aaand probably training and technique

She's 20-something years old. Trust me, she won't be singing like that two decades from now.
THIS woman the voice of a rock goddess, especially with scream, definitely my favorite song. Lovr how her voice is pure talent and not studio make up crap
Lzzy Hale has an amazing voice. One of the few people who can sing well outside of the studio. :)
Such good chemistry between all members... The drummer and vocalist especially insane.
Cause they're fucking mad siblings 😂
The drummer (Arejay Hale) is the younger brother of the vocalist (Lzzy Hale) They started the band in 1997 when he was 10 and she was 13.
She is so incredibly talented. There's still hope out there for rock and roll. Thanks Lzzy.
Dude who is her vocal teacher. The way she goes from a talking scream to a singing scream is seamless. God.
I am the fire is more than a song. It is a life changing experience.
Fucking worship this goddess
Stumbled across this mostly by accident
AND LOVED IT!
that hasn't happened in AT LEAST 40 YEARS!!
I’m amazed that one person can convey so much power with so much femininity, singing with such vulnerability at the same time as righteous anger… and it all comes together perfectly.

I agree. There are songs I skip every time they come up when I'm listening to an album, but I LOVE to hear then do those songs acoustically (for example "What Sober Couldn't Say")

Her name is Elisabeth Hale
Lzzy Hale tem uma voz extraordinária. Além de ter uma grande presença de palco. Ela tem um cabelo tão lindo. Não sei porque corta tanto.
Watching this while I wait for the damn tickets to go live in an hour 😆

I saw them in Peoria, Illinois, just last month opening for Rob Zombie. Her voice is just phenomenal. Oh and Rob and his band's was bad ass too.

Lzzy and the drummer are rockstars, the other 2 not so much. I mean they sound fine, not saying anybody can't play, but ZERO stage presence. They just have no juice by comparison.
los blancos thats your opinion.
Not everyone has it
they're siblings, and the original members of the band :) Halestorm wouldn't exist without the Hales as the backbone
They preform hundreds of shows a year *HUNDREDS* Michael Jackson couldn't do that, and when they tried to make him do fifty he said it would kill him.
