i bet the owner was thrilled. the car looks perfect
He was! He texted a week later an said he loved it!
Great job... Making a white vehicle look so good... And it's nice to see a great detailer making positive comments about another great detailer... Brian is awesome... Always room to learn from great detailers.
Thanks! He certainly is! ua-cam.com/video/u-BxEumYQrU/v-deo.html
I ran into the same issue coating my wife's CX-9. It was about 80 degrees in my garage but I had to air flow so the humidity made it a challenge. Ended having a few high spots, on the hood I ended up polish off with 3D one again the coating and reapplying it but wiping off much quicker and that worked. Other others I remembered I had carpro essence + so used that and then some areas had to reapply. Other then those issues the coating was amazing! Also switching to a different microfiber towel for wipe off. Still by go too coating.
Brian stuff is pretty amazing!! Good job Phil!! 👍🇨🇦
Great video guys, that Jeep looks insanely good for a white car👍👏👏👏
Malco products smell great. They have a blueberry wax that's nice.
Your video work and editing are top notch. Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much!
You always do a fine job. Like others have said, white is a tough color to get to "pop". You and Wifey hit that one out of the park! Thank You for sharing! I'd love to try Apex's coating. Brian is a very big asset to us all. I'm sure His product delivers and then some!
I'm doing a winter prep on My 2005 Acura TSX(Carbon Gray Pearl) today... Washed, iron removal, clayed, thoroughly dried(trip down the parkway) ready for Koch Chemie M302. Orange CCS 6.5" pad/FLEX3401 on 4.5. I'm usually a perfectionist... watching Your vids, I'm not going to go for perfection. It's a daily... I'll still try to prevent scratches and swirls. It'll be sealed up with CSL/EXO. I hope You are enjoying Labor Day weekend.
Jay
Thanks so much! That sounds like a great plan on your TSX! I hope it comes out amazing! 😎👍
@@MirandaDetailing You're welcome! It's such hard work! I don't do this all the time... You do! Your results are always stellar. The perfectionist in Me has arrived, lol. The car has some wipe/contact scratches I'd like removed. I tried the "turn the lights out and use My Rupes light" trick and saw them on the doors and bottom of the front bumper. I'll be trying a few things after work. Have a great week!
As soon as I saw a piece of the wheel I knew it was an SRT! Loooooove Jeeps!
The idea of using smart fabric out of a HVLP gun is an excellent idea Phil. I could take the over spray to save product. 👍😎 Brilliant
Another great Sunday morning with the cat, coffee and Miranda detailing. The Jeep looks incredible, white is a tough color to get to stand out, and you did amazing work. Great results! The gloss is off the charts.
Thanks 😎👍
Everytime I see a vehicle with black pillars I am so glad my WJ Jeep came with painted pillars to match body. They polish up so nice! Excellent vid!
I know right! Thanks! 😎👍
I have already put it on 11 cars and I just love it love it love it. And the black restorer trim restore is just as good also. So glad to see you using
I want to try Apex at some point. Looks fantastic. I do like your shop set up. Now good lighting. Very cool. Hi wife.
Thanks!!👍😎
As always awesome video and content good friend. I know it's not a challenger or charger but this is awesome. Thanks 4 show casing a Mopar. Hope all this well good friend. Came out awesome
Thanks Phil, like always great video.
I used the hydra sheet over three days. once per day. Finish is amazing. damn leaf spots after a rain, wash right off.BTW, glad to see you are using ear protection. I have developed tinnitus from race cars and loud music over the years..
Yup. Those polishers can be droning!!
wicked result Phil, one very happy Jeep CRT owner who's gonna need his shades :-)
Great job looks awesome
Thanks!
Everything looks fantastic!
Good morning Phil + Jess and good evening to me ;) Very nice indeed and it is always hard to make white paint look so glossy but it sure was when it was moved outside !! Brian's Apex Surface Protection Metal Oxide Coating must be mega good..
Actually some white car colors are very glossy for example pure white from VW/Audi is very glossy with nothing on the paint. So really depends on the manufacturer and paint quality. Most nano coatings add allot of gloss..
Outstanding video brother 💪👍
Gorgeous 👍👍
Kinda disappointed... not in the work but the intro. You didn't say "So you don't miss stuff". The was fantastic as usual.
Thank you, Phil! I've been waiting for this tutorial 😊. Thanks for the tip about the temperature and humidity while applying this coating. It will be very helpful when I apply it on my new SUV next week since I don't have a garage. Cheers ☕
You are right about the coating being finicky - sensitive to humidity and temperature. I applied it on Saturday. I noticed yesterday a few hot spots. I think I can just reapply to those spots and they will dissappear. I'm really happy with the results though 😊.
Phil I've been using ASP coating as well and have noticed the same. The coating is temp and humidity sensitive and will be quite tacky on the initial wipe off. Other than that I love the way the coating leaves the paint looking! Enjoying the gtecniq line as well.
Thanks. Good to know. I was hoping someone would have the same results. Still came out amazing! And the customer actually texted me a week later saying how glossy and easy to clean it is!
The SRT always looks tough!
Been watching your videos for a long time... like and
admire your good work great knowledge base experiance and persistance👍
Need to ask you couple of questions about polishing pads and backplates...if you have da polisher 150mm (6inch) bp what range of pads is best to use for compound polish and wax with it..6 inch or smaller and exactly which pads...with holes in center or those pads with waves on its surface...in europe we can get cemical guyz meguiars sonax pads so if you could suggest some
Tx and carry on with keeping the costumer smile on their faces when they see their cars after your masterjob
And don't eat bugs😄😄 Phil
😂😂😂
Hey Phil, you should try out an LVLP spray gun instead of HVLP. Functionally the same, but *much* more control of volume and fan pattern, much less overspray. Great for our needs. Thanks for the video! 👍✌
Very cool. I'll check it out. 👍😎
Great video as always! @Phil the Hoover Dust Brush is unavailable on Amazon found one elsewhere but was wondering if you have found one similar on Amazon you like as much?
Hi. thanks. Yeah they sell out sometimes, they will be back again soon.
but you can find the same one here also ebay.us/2LfsEO
or this one is ok, but not the same amzn.to/2X8V3fO
I have never understood apart from cost, why pillars have to be glossy plastic. Could not pick a worst material.
I know right! 🤷🏻♂️
@@MirandaDetailing It would be a good start Phil if they made the pillars matt.
Hey phil and jess! Have yall tried DPC coating before and if you have what is your experience? Thanks if not you should!
Hi. I havent tried it yet
I can't wait to apply both products to my own vehicle soon. Awesome video. Phil, for the waterspots on the windows, can I use P&S clarity cream to remove those types of waterspots or do I have to use something like TLC Clearsr to remove them? Thanks
Thanks. Well we have both and sometimes one world is better than the other. It depends on what type of water spots and how long them have been on there. Having both choices available is good
@@MirandaDetailing Thanks Phil

Phil, I applied it and basically had to work a lot with the heat and humidity since daily here is above 75% humidity and temperature over 85 degrees Fahrenheit. During summer is above 95 degrees Fahrenheit. When I applied it had to deal with it almost like Avalon's King IX which changed from the oily look on a white pearl vehicle to a haze in less than a minute(about 10 seconds and had 2 fans, with Avalon's takes here about 30 to 40 seconds) but everything was on point, later applied the sheeting topper too.👌👌👍 I was about to call Brian so he could give me better pointers but I figured everything out since had to observe a lot the behavior of the coating since I know how others work differently in our environment. The other thing is a little it goes a long way on application and was amazed because I remember Brian said it on his video and after seeing it I can exhort others here on this. It has an incredible shine at the end and lots of product still remaining for about 3 to 4 small cars.
Yeah good points. I always try to encourage people to keep an eye on the coating and see how it reacts and adjust your wipe off procedure accordingly. 😎👍
Phil is it really necessary to run a Polish over a car if you can't visually see any imperfections? You can't just after washing the vehicle use an IPA as a prep and then apply the product? Or in this case because it's a customer car and they're paying pretty good money you're doing it for the fact that they're paying you to do it if that makes sense? Another great video by the way 👍
Yes. You really want to at least get minor defects out, add as much gloss and help exfoliate the paint before applying the coating and to help ensure it'll look and perform is best. Paying that amount of money for a service, you wanna make sure the customer is getting it's money's worth.
@@LilRick96 I understand that being someone that is paying you to do the work, yeah you better do it. But as a do it yourselfer, if your paint has no visual defects and is glossy already, why do this step? Wastes time and product. Again, if your getting paid to do it? Then you better, or if your honest, and the paint doesn't need it? Then don't charge the customer for a step you didn't do. To my knowledge no products say you "have to" use a polish first. They simply state, "correct the paint if needed before applying" the polishing part is just to illuminate imperfections. Should be a judgement call on the person doing the work. Here? Phil did see some slight imperfections is probably why he did it, but then again, some customers may not want their clear compromised for such minor stuff. Your factory clear is far better than any nano coating. So save the clear and only polish or compound if NEEDED. People now a days really go overboard trying to chase that perfect finish, but don't realize its at the sacrifice of the factory clear coat. Phil knows this, and is why he just went over this car with a black pad. No cut at all. Smart.
@@eppyz yeah that's what I mean. You can polish and " jewel" the paint without compromising the clear coat at all. Just enhancing the gloss, slickness and like I said exfoliating the paint. It's all preference. It's how YOU yourself value your car. No car is perfect, there will always be some defects. If you think it looks perfect enough to just IPA wipe it and coat it, it's totally fine. But if you wanna achieve a bit more gloss and clarity, it is possible to go that route and take the extra time to get it. Watch Brian from Apex. I believe it was a black G8 he did a few months ago about having a car cover on top, he compounded, polished and then "jeweled" the paint to bring even more gloss, you would've thought it wasn't possible to get a more deeper richer look but it did in a 50/50 shot. It is a judgment call, if you see some spots that need a bit of correction just take care of it, you'll only degrade the clear coat of you hammer it with a super aggressive compound with multiple passes. A polish to achieve gloss and clean up minor swirls won't do anything to harm it . It's all about common sense and knowing when to hold back and pick your battles. Saves time and energy.
Hi. Well for us it's part of the service and we have found that even if the vehicle is switl free and glossy already, a light polish will also mechanically clean the paint and help remove anything that may be on the paint. But it's not absolutely necessary, but it's a part of a quality service and peace of mind knowing the paint is cleaned, prepped, and ready to coat.
Hi yeah, that's very true. It all comes down to what the customer wants or needs. Some jobs we win because we also need to give it a light polish to enhance and remove the slightest of defects. Other jobs take more to get the paint to the level that the customer is expecting. However, with our business, we charge the same whether we needed to polish more or not. We have priced our services to equalize things. But if we forgo or a more intense polishing and that saves time we put the into something else like maybe adding in a complimentary interior basic cleaning. They still get the value out of it, and it seems like an extra bonus to them. 😎👍
Phil, can you, have you ever mixed an iron remover in with extra tough degreaser to create a one step degreaser/iron remover Pre wash?
Hi. Interesting...i never tried that. Not sure ifbiboipd however since reon removal chemistry is very much different and I wonder if it could mess with either cleaner. But who knows. Maybe someone will give it a try. 😎👍
Yea, I was wondering if mixing the 2 chemicals would cause some type of chemical reaction. 💣
More like a chemical neutralization but again I’m not quite sure would be interesting to try out carPro TRIX is a tar and iron remover, and they mix it. But then again I’m no chemist 😆
Hi,compared with cq quartz 3.0 which one is better you thing?
Thanks great job.
Well the Cquartz is rated at 2 years while the Apex Coating 5 years. Its not really about whichis better, but how many years of protection do you want. Both are awesome coatings, Cquartz is easier to apply however.
@@MirandaDetailing Thanks for the reply.
Do you almost exclusively use a black pad for the pillars?
Only for finishing. Sometimes it needs compounding and Ill use either MF disc or Orange pads
Hi Phil I have a question about starting a detailing business out of your own residential home, because you are also mobile it seems like you are better off but for someone who is just out of their garage zoning residential will they not let you work? I’m worried they will say no and I can’t work at all any advice ?
Hi. Good question. Actually now we have been working our of our garage more then ever, we may be phasing mobile out completely soon. When we where looking for a house we had to make sure it was away from people, zoned correctly, and not in a HOA neighborhood. Basically we found a place in the country and nobody bothers us at all.
a good labor day and jewish new year and a nice jeep srt
