Steve Smith Vital Information NYC Edition - Interwoven Rhythms & The Perfect Date - Live

- Bassist Baron Browne and alto saxophonist Andy Fusco, both of whom we lost in 2021, are featured in the 12+ minute live performance of “Interwoven Rhythms Synchronous” and “The Perfect Date.” This is a good example of the creative mind, and deep funk, of Baron who would create a new bass part each night to the music we had been performing for a number of years. Andy was a gifted improviser and his soulful alto playing is highlighted in this live performance from The Iridium Jazz Club NYC on October 28, 2011. Guitarist Vinny Valentino doubles my konnakol syllables as well as keeping it funky on the guitar and keyboardist Mark Soskin excels as an accompanist and soloist. You can see the fun we had playing together and inspiring each other to play to our highest potential.

Steve’s playing keeps improving with age
Steve Smith is such a bada^&! The independence on display here is from another world. RIP Mr.Browne your music lives forever.
Rest in peace - these guys were mosnters... i had no idea... I saw you play at Birds Bsement in Melbourne right as all this covid drama started... Thank you...
So sorry for the double lost, RIP both of them. Great performance, btw. Warm greetings from Spain, Steve.

Your performance and all musicans were awesome. You did your Mr HiHat and showed that you van get a grove all over the drumset. If that tour to Europe and Stockholm were the same year a this performance???. Thanks for all the inspiration. Your great!! Drums Forever!!

Brilliant, Steve and the band! I'm sorry that Andy was a victim of COVID... Wow. I followed him for years in the Buddy Rich band, and always thought he had great energy. The things he used to get into in "Grand Concourse", were always fun, and had everybody smiling.
I wake up Saturday morning and all is well when I see a new Steve Smith video.

Steve is a very nice open guy. Of course he's got Not JUST DA SKILLS, BUT THE KNOWLEDGE TEST SEEMS TO BE FACING WITH THE NEWER FLASHY DRUMMERS. THANK YOU SIR, FOR HELPING TO PRESERVE THE HISTORY OF KNOWLEDGE ON THIS SOOO DAMN FUN INSTRUMENT!!! STAY HEALTHY MY FRIEND- DRUM SENSEI
Oh dear!! You get stuck into a channel and when you finally get out you can see so much more. I have absolutely NO idea how it has been possible for me to bury my head in electronic jazz, I have NEVER come across you - and wasted a part of a wonderful 60 year journey (so far) in musical discoveries. This certainly adds to the recipe somewhat!! Great to find you and best wishes (from the guy who named his son after Joe Zawinul !!)!!
