No but he sure did add the syncopated part in the middle I guess you could call it the chourus or the bridge I think it would be the bridge you know the C section I mean that's the part EVERYBODY wants to play you know what I'm saying lol in fact I would go so far to say that section of Spain is actually a rite of passing for musicians when you can play the syncopated part of Spain you've arrived at the next level. you know I live in Nashville Tennessee andIm a musician.It was just a couple of years ago I remember walking down Broadway and every bass player in every honky tonk could play Spain maybe two of them couldn't that's how much Chick Corea affected this world of musicians even the hillbilly country musicians. Truly a Maestro
The bigger they are and the more humble they are, he was the number one for sure, it’s not just about his playing, it’s about the spirit behind him, inside of him and great musician like Carlitos can agree with me and say much more.
Been listening to chick my entire life... And Im old. I always thought he would live forever.
He is living forever. Just not in the same body. Now I know that to the depths of my core but man I can't believe he's not here anymore he's been a part of my life since I was just a kid ❤ through his music he will be here for infinity😊 I'm old too but when I listen to this man the Maestro I. am instantly young again

Chick was a incredible musician and did not lose a step all the way until he passed.. He was so passionate about the music he made and played and always complimented in words and playing whoever he played with.

Of course Chick played on Hubert Laws' 1st LP, entitled The Laws Of Jazz - and at that time he was known as Armando Corea. These two have been making magic together for so long, I know it hurts Hubert every day that Chick has left us. Thank you for posting this gift.

Wow! Just Wow! And Sigh. And breathe. Top flight musicians taking flight on what is possibly Chick's signature tune. I am saddened by Chick's passing, but what a rich and diverse musical legacy he has left us.

First with the RTF acoustic line-up with Stanley Clarke, Joe Farrell, Flora Purim, and Airto Moreira, then the RTF electric line-up with Bill Connors on guitar, soon replaced by Al Dimeola, Stanley Clarke, and Lenny White, both at the height of their popularity and then on their reunion tour years later. I also saw an electric Chick quintet at a small club, and then wonderful evening of duets with Gary Burton. To my untrained ears, Chick was never about flashy technique. Everything he contributed was in service to the music as a whole - and, man oh man, could he create a driving, hooking, engaging rhythm. Wishing you well and many more musical journeys.

I am one of the musicians who was taking his on line course my name is Zenith Apollo Star I play piano drums percussion.You guys sound so good together.wow what a life. When I was about 13 yrs old the Secret Agent lp came out. He said if anybody would like to write me a letter here is my address. Man was I surprised when a few weeks later I received a letter back ! I still have that letter somewhere. In 2012 his secretary wrote me and asked if I would like to come to LA do an internship at Mad Hatter Studio. I had too many commitments in Nashville at the time but I was floored I really love that man. I probably should have gone I just couldn't believe it was real. Anyway keep on grooving out my friend youve got a long and prosperous career ahead.❤. If you happen to run into Stanley or the boys in the electric man tell them I said hey .I've met them before. Ola ! Flourish and prosper my friend 😊 later dude

Wow Carlitos, you take the time to answer almost everyone. Amazing - how nice. 😊 Yes - Chick was special - I knew that and I certainly enjoyed his online sessions on Facebook during the Corona lockdown - am a bit surprised how much it has affected me that he's suddenly gone, but if anyone would want everyone to keep creating and not stay in a mourning mood, then I believe it must be Chick - always looking ahead and into the future - still think he is doing that....
It must have been so much fun to create that closely with him. All the best to you and everyone that created music with him. 😊

I had the great privelege of hearing you with Chick Corea when you performed at the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY just a few years ago. I loved all the objects you used to make music and your solos were absolutely amazing!
