- 2024 Kia EV9
The lovely people at Southern Kia in Chesapeake, VA think you should pay a couple of year's salary for the "exclusive" EV9. This isn't even the most expensive model. MSRP without markups can go up to $90,000 USD. These manufacturers and greedy dealers are going to have a wakeup call soon.
Join the Revolution and take your wallet back!!
I traded in my Toyota 2020 loaded 4 runner for a Kia ev9 gt. It’s an epic suv. I’m so glad I did. I think it’s just hard for people to accept that they can no longer afford a Kia.
Lmao. You paid $90k on a KIA? 😂 OK bro enjoy it.
@@rxonmymind8362 no one is paying 90k for this. They are all about 8 to 12k off. If you lease it you are basically paying 0% apr.
@rxonmymind8362 there's nothing wrong with buying a Kia. If you hate Kia just say you hate Kia. You are stereotyping a whole brand. It's not cool.
I just got rid of my 21 4runner trd offroad for a kia ev 9 gtline. IM SOOO HAPPY. I get messages when I drive now 😊
@@rxonmymind8362 it's defintly not $90k. Quite a bit of incentive now. There's also good leasing options. And nobody should pay MSRP for the car as well, always room to compare deal and negotiate..
If you broke, get out the line. Ain't no one forcing anyone to buy anything.
@@souavang5978 so how does this rhetoric work for a Kia but then there are people complaining about the prices of top of the line full-size pickup trucks, Hummers, and other luxury SUVs? That makes absolutely no sense to me. UA-cam commenters pick and choose which brands are allowed to offer expensive models and who aren’t? Lol that’s hilarious and again makes zero sense.
$110k has to be a dealer mark up because the MSRP for fully loaded EV9 is like 80k off local website
For real. This guy is basically just spewing crap out of his mouth.
There’s an ongoing 7.5k promotion make the price of a fully loaded at around 70k msrp
Canadian dollars?
He was talking total cost with interest rates on loan included.
It’s already happened. The top of the line Toyota TACOMA is $64,000. The ford F150 lighting platinum was being listed for $110,000. It’s ridiculous. Luckily Kia does still make super affordable low $20,000 vehicles
“Total Scam” lol
$110,000 for a Ford Lightning is hilarious when the Silverado EV RST is $96,000 fully loaded with over 400 miles of range. The Lightning is the price of a Hummer E1 pickup! Ford is _also_ nuts.
@@G-Rated the lighting was also stickered at $90,000 and then dealerships had the Balls to mark it up 20-30k
I’m confused…this video was about how expensive kia has gotten but you picked their MOST technologically advance flagship vehicle to feature knowing it’s their most expensive vehicle. It’s the least expensive vehicle in its actual category by far. As for the options? They are just that… OPTIONS lol…from the manufacturer. The only thing there is a case for is the dealer options which aren’t even a big concern anymore because people are buying vehicles without them every day. I just think they’re better vehicles you could have made this point about than this one.
And 100x better than any US based car manufacturered today.
by a lot.
I own the ev9 land. Outstanding vehicle. Quality, range. Features. It’s built like a tank and for the size has outstanding range for me 296 mile range at 100% charged.
Hi could you give an update on your Ev 9 ? Ty
This review is all about price, not about the intrinsic qualities of this EV9. I’ve seen and read other positive comments though!
The Ev9 is being discounted up to $10k with 0% finance in South Florida with no mark up
It’s going to be a sales turd. Your dealers have woke up to that fact already.
@@revnation_auto
Who hurt you? Why are you like this? Seek professional counseling, do yourself, friends and loved ones (if you still have any) a favor.
If this is a scam (because of your expectations) what do you say about the Mercedes, Audi, and BMW SUV EV offerings? Are you alright with those being substantially more expensive because people have (without data to support) convinced themselves that those brands make more reliable products?
This is market economics. If they price high and still sell, that means the car worth the money. Period. All through your video you didn't have a reasoning why the price is too high. You just mean it is Kia so it does not worth the price. That's just a bias and prejudice. It's your freedom not accepting it and others have good reason to accept it.
If you can’t afford it then just say that !! No need to down talk the car.
Spend a couple months driving EV9 day to day then make a vid….
Your local dealer suck doesn’t mean it happens to every Kia dealers. A Kia dealer near me actually offer 750 dealer discount currently, with the 7500 Kia promotion, you could get a fully loaded top trim in around 70k. like it nor not, it’s actually very good value in today’s market.
I got the base model for $41.5k and I’m happy with it. I don’t have to worry about $5 a gallon gas.
$5 a gal? Wow, it's $3 a gal here.
Shoot, $7.5 here...
Saving $5 only to lose thousands on resale 😂
One dealer doesn't represent the entire Kia network, just as one model doesn't present the entire lineup. Taking the most expensive model and implying that Kia has lost it, you can also take the cheapest Kia model the Niro, and then talked about it's the most affordable car in it's class with the best warranty in any segment and Kia still is the most affordable brand. Inorder to really do your diligent, you have to have a large sample for data, go to 10 dealers, collect your data, not just one. First, there's plenty of dealers within 50 miles of my radius that either selling it at MSRP or $3K below MSRP, second, anyone in the market for an EV9 knows they are not paying MSRP, with KIA, State and Fed incentives, you get close to $12K off the EV9, and we're not even talking about the savings on services like 10,000 miles, 20,000 miles, 30,000 miles services, oil change, fluids flush, coolant, spark plugs, timing, etc...the biggest service on an EV is changing the tires, because every car will eventually need tires, brakes, and wiper blades.
Thats why u lease and nobody’s paying markup on EVs today infact they are getting significant discounts up to 12k in come cases.
This is a very confusing video. You start by saying the price tag is ridiculous then start praising a bunch of great features then complain about the price. When compared to all other Large SUVs the base models are double the price of the base EV9 AWD (Wind AWD in the USA or the Land AWD Base in Canada).
As someone who did a bunch of research before purchasing the EV9 AWD it is the only full electric on the market with a fully usable third row and plenty of leg room.
Unfortunately vehicles like everything else have gotten expensive. I don't know many 7 seater AWD vehicles that are under 60k at this point.
Wait... No one is buying EVs. I thought everyone was upset and didn't want them. Let me go back and check out the previous videos.
I have one they are great enjoy your Chevy Silverado or whatever you drive
Kia is not a bargain brand anymore, they no compete on the bear luxury space.🎉
So you start by stating Kia's history was based on being a value brand. Next you say that there are very few large EV SUVs. Finally, the few that do exist are from premium brands like Volvo and Mercedes.
In your own words Kia has offered an innovative vehicle that is nicely designed, filling a market need, for less money than the other offerings in that space. Isn't that EXACTLY why you like Kia?
Yes, this vehicle tops out at 78 grand, but its' competitors top out above 100 grand.
KIA is not the brand that it was in 1990/2000/2010 their cars now are far superior in technology and reliability to any of the German brands and are not far behind at all in luxury.
It’s just badge snobbery, people happily pay 100k for a BMW that’s no where near as good.
kia still has economy cars dude. I just saw a lease for $139 pre-incentive.
KIA still has their good prices for the usual models.a new KIA Sportage is $27K. Their design is much nicer now. They want to take part of the Tesla model X market. So they built a car that competes with the Model X. (Same price) Just find a base EV9 around $65K , same as a model X. This is a pricier car, but has all the extras a car with that price has. You can still buy a Kia Soul, Sportage or Sorento $20k - $30k.
It's important to recognize that businesses have the freedom to innovate and upgrade their products, including cars. If a particular product is not within your budget, it's okay to explore other options. Interestingly, Kia has been offering electric cars in Korea for over a decade, and other countries have made significant advancements in automotive technology. It's valuable to be open to progress and evolution in technology rather than holding onto traditional mindsets. Stick to the gas and be happy and stop being so jealous. Respect that not everyone are you or have this poor mindset.
Car will be available for you to buy with your budge. #letothersdoit
Are you high? It is priced incredibly well. The Rivian R1S, Tesla Model X, and Mercedes EQS have a starting price that is more expensive than the most loaded variant of the EV9 GT Line. It decimates its competition on price by a mile and does so with far more features. They price it based on the market they are competing in, not a random guys opinion on what Kia was 14 years ago in the US market. Hyundai/Kia/Genesis are absolutely killing the game right now because they completely rebuilt their brand from the ground up, so idk what you are on about. Also, why are you randomly tacking on over 20k to the price of the car? Every state registration fee is different, and loan terms/rates are literally different for everybody. You went from 82k to saying it's a 100k vehicle. No, it is not. Believe it or not, companies change, and their strategy changes. The Koreans are dominating right now. I'm sorry you are stuck in 2012 lol.
If people are buying at these prices, it's a good business move
If the fish aren't biting, they will make the adjustment, and prices will drop.
That's the business. Not hard to figure out....
2 years from now it will be 30k on the used market.
💯 fo sho
Like every used car in 2 years 😂. Who thinks their car is an investment …
If you ever buy a Kia, they do heavy discounts at the dealership …MSRP is misleading
2?
@discountdaddy1 yep, I didn’t pay anywhere near $70k+ msrp for my Land w/ towing and relaxation packages. That’s not really clickable intel, tho.
As of October 2024, EV9 Light LR in Oklahoma are $46-47 G
You actually include INTEREST? Wow
That guy is a seriously messed up douche bag.
Brother sorry but all cars now are over priced and if you can’t afford it don’t talk like that
MSRP for a loaded GT Line (minus every accessory) is under $80k... not $90k as you said.
And a Land trim is even less.
Your main gripe is that it's expensive. Compare the cost of the EV9 vs it's actual EV competition. It's cheaper than them all.
You think it's expensive. Just say that, and that you can't/don't want to afford it.
Did you check the price for average SUV? Own EV9 very happy.
Kia has just became the best car around. They offer Japanese quality with German luxury at lower prices. I traded my Mercedes SUV for a telluride and I love it. They just crush the competition
This guy is full of it. 100k where??? Just got a 60k quote on a wind trim level and a 67k quote on one that was top of the line.
I bought an EV 9 Gt lıne ın 2023 ıts great unless the DC chargıng process It s awful as ıt select ınfrastructure and you can not be sure the fast chargıng process. Result ı do not prefer to go long journey Could you help me?
I don’t understand this mindset this is extremely difficult to watch 😂 there is literally nothing like it that compares to it for the price and not have to pay for Gas. Probably one of the worst reviews I’ve ever watched on UA-cam in 20 years 😭💀
It's one of the nicest car's out there...trust me..
Okay. So what similarly equipped EV SUV is way cheaper?
If you've done an ounce of research on the EV9 you'd see these are discounted at least $14,000 from MSRP. My GT-Line had an MSRP of $78k and I got it down to $64k. There's $7500 KIA discounts on these not counting dealer discounts. If you look into leasing (with the option to buy out) you'll find even better deals. Sub $60k for GTL and Land models, LLR is in the high 40s I believe.
Do a bit of research rather just bitching about sticker price. These prices were valid 4 months ago.
Yesterday’s price is not today’s price. This SUV nice I need to test drive it
Compare it to the other options. There is a market for it and the EV9 is the cheapest option by a good margin. You can also go base model in the 50's before all that extra fees and markups. I'm waiting until the buzz goes away. Maybe pick one up as a used model, but good luck finding a cheaper brand new true 7 seater thats electric. Plus its gas counterparts aren't much cheaper brand new. Some are more expensive. His point about standing up to the car manufacturers is the more important thing. If the customer base didn't eat that up then you'd see prices adjust. That's just not the case right now.
Kia Forte continues the affordable cars tradition. You are looking to the wrong models to save money
It's affordable compared to the competition.
Best suv ever 🎉I love it ❤
Like it’s always been .. high priced cars are for the chosen ones ..
Who in their right mind is buying these things for that kind of money? Maybe I'm just getting old and cheap but I just dont understand dropping a $100 grand on an electric vehicle. I cant imagine the payment for this. I also wonder what these things will be worth in 5-10 years?
Kia and Hyundai have increased in price to an insane degree but their reputation hasn’t improved. Resale will not be kind to this car.
Lessees that never intend on paying the full sale price.
Sounds like dealerships are the real problem.
paid $68k cash. my guess you are a trump supporter.
I would rather spend 100k on this compared to Tesla. KIA is doing great things. Ev’s open a whole new thing for them. 10 year power train warranty.
Resale is trash for any EV.
This has the features of a Lexus or above.
kia is giving nearly 17k in discounts. EV9 GT Line is down to 66k entry level is 47k. kia wants to flood the market with EVs they wont sell at an unrealistic number
Love the syle!! Hot looking car! I plan to check the out! Starting price 70k Nice price!!
If you don't like the price, move on
Kia got smart with this product, a conventional 3-row EV SUV, when there are very few on the market, but the prices are breathtaking. I've had several new Kias, including my current 5-year-old V6 Sorento, and the EV9 would be a natural for the next one, but not a chance at prices that feel $10-20,000 too high.
I have one and I love it
$75k for Kia EV9??? They can keep it because i am no paying $75k for any Kia EVs. Ugly wheels and Ugly look.
If this car had a bmw or merc logo instead of Kia but remained otherwise exactly the same car people would happily pay double the price 😂
Tbf the tech in this car you can only otherwise get in a bmw or Mercedes for double the price so it’s cheap for what it is.
Remember, the quality is 100% better than last 9 years
Pretty decent lol, it's the best in the segment and at a good price without markups of course, compared to the Model X and Rivian RT1.
Nothing makes it the best in the segment at that price point. This thing is the price of a luxury EV.
@@G-Rated.........except it is? It's competition is dramatically more expensive and it has things that none of them do. It's self driving tech is included and doesn't require any subscription, it has a segment leading 2nd row captains chairs that recline and are heated and cooled. It has wireless android auto and Apple carplay which none of the other competitors have. We could keep going but you seem to reject reality so...
By the way they sew basically 10k + off if you go to the correct dealership.
There are some great deals if you look around. This exact model is going for 58k
I really feel like this guy is trying to spread BS.
Ok . 75k MSRP
-$7000 off msrp (discount)
-$7500 EV rebate in California
And no gas . I have solar panels paid off
It actually makes sense
The GT line
List for 56,000
Milage 3900 😂
Great review, $100k for a KIA is pure insanity. I would rather buy a Honda Pilot for less than half the price. KIA makes so many vehicles that getting spare parts requires a long wait. Pure greed at its peak by a foreign auto maker. Great move KIA by bringing out this debacle while EV sales are tanking.
Right and it’s not even a luxury vehicle
The EV 9 has features even an accura doesn’t have.
Except it’s not $100k.
“Pure greed” lol. Such silliness.
This is how false information gets passed. People can’t use google so simply verify, it’s sad. Maxed out, these are $78K that have every option someone can want. You get the fed credit, and state credit (if applicable). So no one would ever pay sticker for an EV, of course you would never know unless you researched or owned one.
@@rubenm3780 I totally agree with you, although I still think the markup by the dealers shows their greed. I guess time will tell if Kia has a winner here.
You can lease one for about $400/month or less. That’s pretty damn affordable in today’s world.
All electric cars are overpriced and you probably drive a ford truck and pay the same 😂😂😂😂
right now they 10800 off lease cash and 10-15% off dealer discounts looking at 20k off the top all day
I don't know what is so puzzling about this. Certain brands target the sub prime market. People who can't get financing or don't believe they will get financing or have been turned down for financing elsewhere. And lo and behold, there's a dealership that will sell you a new car no matter what your credit is like, lets just sit down and figure out what payment you want to be around. And a few hours later, voila, here's enjoy your lender's new Kia.
Let me help. There's many people running EV's from home solar (directly or compensating with injected energy) and skipping gas payments altogether. Have you factored that in? (along with a lot less maintenance)
@@tudormontescu6275 Was that directed at me?
Supply & demand. Price follows demand aka what people are willing to pay.
Cash is king. The Telluride is still a smoking deal for what you get.
Not just kia or ev even used car are ridiculous..the manufacturer, banks and dealerships are the reasons the car market struggling to experience and hoops for a vehicle.. they're ignoring regular people having everything going up except our pay...it's crazy
I don't know why so many people bitched at you about "if you can't afford/don't like it..don't buy it". I think it's a good looking rig but..
That's a ridiculous price for the vehicle. You posted it a month ago. EV sales and resale are in the toilet. I can't imagine the depreciation just driving off the lot??

What about a Chineese SUV for half the price of the KIA. Oh I forgot they are going to taxed 100%.

@@markmeridian3360 I guess I need to know your reasoning for saying this. I charge my Bolt at home on a 48amp charger in a short while. On a trip, it took 70 minutes from near empty to full. A Kia or rivian 😂
A 550 car payment is enough. I can’t see paying much more than that for any vehicle.
Definitely a rip off in that part of the country. Here in my area, they are knocking $15K off the MSRP for that same model.

Exactly he is jealous because he can't afford 😂😂
I agree
That's a stupid people reaction...
All the corporations are milking the people out of money!! even though that they're making tons of money on each and every single vehicle that they're selling just 3-4 years ago, we could have bought a brand new Toyota minivan, around the 43 to $45000, fully loaded. Today, we have to pay around 60,000$.Because people are stupid and paying, whatever they're being told... even if they cannot afford it..
Same with housing prices...🤮
I just ordered one I will get it around end October I must say it is way better value than German cars
