- woodturning a natural edge mastic tree wood vase
mastic is a dioecious evergreen shrub or small tree of the genus Pistacia, growing up to 4 m (13 ft) tall which is cultivated for its aromatic resin, mainly on the Greek island of Chios.
Mastic is a resin obtained from the mastic tree (Pistacia lentiscus). It is known as tears of Chios, being traditionally produced on the island Chios, and, like other natural resins, is produced in "tears" or droplets.

Να σαι καλά Δημήτρη
Obra de arte 👏👏👏👏👏❤
Thank you
An absolutely beautiful piece. I love the live edge. What was the square mount you used? That was my first time seeing that.
If you mean the tool side arm it helps a lot at hollowing thank you
@@stevekalogerakis no, I was referring to the square mount in the Chuck. I hate the screw, I have so much trouble getting it out. I've seen the hollowing tool before, it does look very helpful.
I understand now you mean the drive center i made this on the metal lathe is more useful for myself
Steve, just tell me why I'm not surprised with the injury to your finger 😕
It seems to me that you would turn paper-thin pieces if at all possible. 👍
Did you actually expect or did you plan to have the opening on the side? I'm impressed with the skills you have and you have produced an object of real art. However I'm a bit shocked when you applied the burn as it was already an unique item.
to get the shape there had to be the hole that does not bother me maybe i like it.about burning when there is bark I do not like to have gaps in light color.thank you for your kind words
