I woke up this morning and realized that I got wood. So let’s take a closer look at it!
In this episode I will change the factory ASG rubberized grips to new wood grips for a more old-school look.

STEP 1: SAFETY CHECK
I start with a safety check. Opening the drum to make sure it’s empty.
And remove the old, left, rubberized grip panel to make sure there’s no CO2 capsule in the gun.
STEP 2: DISASSEMBLY
The right grip panel is attached with 4 screws, which I remove.
Freeing my gun from this rubberized abomination.
STEP 3: NEW WOOD GRIPS
Ready for the new Kimpoi Shop wood grips!
FULL DISCLOSURE:
I got a discount on these grips, just so everything is on the level.
The packaging is very clear, has specific model information, and there is also a notice telling us “this product was made by hand” and that some modification may be required for perfect fit and finish.
The box reveals the wood grips themselves, and two screws with machine threads in a plastic baggie.
And a free patch, of commercial nature...
STEP 4: INSTALLATION
Now to install these grips.
I start by inserting a c02 capsule into the revolver.
Then I mock up the grips on my Dan Wesson 715 to make sure the holes line up without any interference.
They fit, so I add the left grip and screw them into place.
Strangely there is only one screw holding them together.
I also contacted KimpoiShop directly and asked for the grip screw to be placed on the left grip panel, so it will be hidden while the gun is holstered.
STEP 5: REVIEW
Time to get nitty gritty.
I wish the left grip could have covered the hole in the frame better and
the right grip panel could be slightly larger to cover the safety markings completely.
My biggest gripe is that I can not use a speedloader properly, since there is no cut-out on the left panel.
On the plus side, the grips feel very nice, and the wood is of a high quality with good, deep detail on the diamond cuts.
There’s no fraying or split wood on the edges, or on the inside, of the panels.
My wood grips work out-of-the-box, and you don’t even notice the seam.
But as mentioned on the packaging, the grips may require some modification for a perfect fit. Luckily this did not apply to me.
STEP 6: TEST FIRE
With the wood grips installed and looking fabulous, it’s time to test fire this thing.
So thank you Kimpoi Shop for accommodating my suggestions, great customer service and the two custom patches.

The original rubberized grip feels bad tbh and dust sticking on to it. Glad someone made custom woodgrips. I consider making one myself.
these are great do you know the model number on the ones you ordered were ?also it would cool to see a follow up video to see how they held up .
Question on the TM M1911 is it a good airsoft gun out of the box or does it require upgrading to make it satisfactory?
A bit odd to ask such a question in a video about the ASG Dan Wesson, but I'll work with it.
The Marui M1911 is a good gun if you work within its limitations. Use the right propellant, the right BB's and lubricate it after use. If you do right by your gun it will probably outlive you.
However, if you have another preference, like a metal 1911, a special kind of 1911 (like a Kimber or Springfield HRT) you will need a metal kit. The feeling alone of a metal kit versus a standard Marui is quite spectacular. Just look at my videos on the subject.
But as a standard, efficient, reliable side arm, the Marui M1911A1 does the job flawlessly.
There are, of course, also clones and copies of the Marui 1911, and I will be covering that topic in the future.

Like I said above, it's just a matter of contacting Kimpoi via Facebook (facebook.com/KimpoIshop/ ). A personal message is fine. And if you want this particular model, just let him know you want the Special Weapons And Plastic grips (screw on left panel, DW-logo, and so on). Don't forget to ask for a speedloader cut-out if you require one.

Just visit the KimpoiShop Facebook page, linked in the description, and send him a personal message. There you can order the grips and customise them to your liking.
So you have to take the grips off by removing the screw when you change capsules.
Yes. It is slightly more complicated than the factory grips, but way more esthetically pleasing.
The only downside, is that you have to take that screw out, everytime you have to change the CO2 cartridge.

I've been trying to get hold of them myself for some time now, so things are sadly looking bleak.
Houge grips aint so nasty on hard recoiling pistols if i had anything 357 mag or above id go for houge rubber grips
Well, the factory grips where indeed rubberized, but these wood grips are a huge step up in my opinion. And there are sadly no Hogue grips available for the ASG/Gun Heaven Dan Wesson 715.

If you ask Kimpoi for grips with a speedloader cut out, yes.

will these grips fit the 715 4 inch pellet pistol, I think that the airsoft and the pellet are the same, jut one shoots pellets. can't find that company on the net, so I can purchase a set
Yes. They share the same basic design. If you want to be sure, specifically tell Kimpoi that the grips are for the 4.5mm air gun version.
Furthermore, Kimpoi can only be contacted via Facebook. I've added a link to their shop in the description.
Log on there and order via a personal message. If you want the same design as the grips in the movie, let Kimpoi know you want the Special Weapons And Plastic version. If you need a Speedloader cut-out make sure you specify it.
is this a 715 holster or for a other revolver ??
The holster is a Bianchi 5BHL black basketweave holster for 6" .357 revolvers. Should fit J-frames, amongst others.

I do not own one, so I can't say for sure.

That is a Bianchi 5BHL high-ride holster i black basketweave finish. But I've got many, many more of different models and manufacturers.

Sorry to hear that. I don't know the reason for their lack of communication, but there has been a lot of problems in Indonesia lately, what with the earthquakes and vulcanic eruption.

The design has its limitations. A screw holding the grip halves together is one, buy the looks are superb.
