Nice job! Hard to believe only one of two same plants close togeter in the same bed died. I think something is happening with the watering. With very spotty death could be from your sprinkler heads. Adjust them? FYI. Salvia don't like wet feet. I usually put some drainage material in the hole before this kind of plant to avoid wet feet (sand, perlite). Conversely, for plants that do not like to dry out I put Miracle Gro Water Crystals in the hole. Happy Gardening!

Good for you, you’re doing a great job and I love all the little plants. I also live in Southern California and extreme heat in the summer. I’m also so impressed that you know so much about your alkalinity and soil types. I have not been very good about fertilizing, sounds like it is very important.

I see the boxwood cuttings didn’t work. I think it might have worked if you had planted it separately.

You and your garden are so lovely! I’m wondering if you have overhead sprinklers for your lawn and some of the flowers that didn’t make it, don’t like it? I have that problem along with clay and alkaline soil so I was just thinking about that! Love your dress, too!

every good relationship needs a plant killer. My wife is forever tromping over plants. What i've learned is that most of them seem to be able to take a hit. Might help she's only a 5ft little hobbit right enough. : )
garden is looking great. Being in Scotland i'm always jealous of folk who have a summer which lasts more than a week or 2.

The little salvias could not handle what my husband gave them 🤣 but that’s ok! Easy to start a new plant! Thanks for watching 😊

      Bee balm.

      Forget-me-not.
      Foxglove.
      Hellebore.
      Hydrangea.
Shrubs: depending on your zone and animals (deer, bunnies, woodchucks, etc), Mountain Laurel, Virginia Sweetspire, Astilbe, and Pieris is my fav.

I love watching garden tours. You have a real eye for colour . I am now inspired to build an arbor for a climbing rose myself.
Great idea on planting the loropetalum in a pot and adding sulphur etc it will most likely turn a plum colour as well. I watched the lady from Garden Answer and she fertilisers her flowers all the time.your climate is just like ours in Adelaide. Love the Stars and Stripes flags too, they would great all year round!
    Kind regards, Tim .

The white trellis is made of vinyl. I got it off homedepot.com for something like $50! I thought it was a steal and looks great! Thanks!
