My wife and I paid a bit of $2000 for a living trust, but when a non lawyer realizes just how much is involved including having EVERY account e.g. banking, investment, real estate placed into the trust, it's worth the money and time. If the "i's " are not dotted and the "t's" crossed, your heirs may have some genuine headaches. Do NOT rely on a general practice attorney to do this; go to one who specializes in estates, wills, geriatric law etc.
Better yet hire a NICER approved Inheritance Administration Lawyer who is a Trusted Advisor to add the hundred or so steps to your $2000.00 plan to protect you when your vulnerable and defend your grantees. Our $8000.00 Estate Planner Ran from the Plan costing our family 50% in billable litigation hours.
Good morning Mr. Mallory did you know your brother from a different mother is selling an incomplete inheritance administration used by Financial Elder Abusers to victimize us when we’re vulnerable? He sells a Trust NICEP and NICER caveated fails ruining and costing my family a million dollars in Trust Litigation hours, if Anderson Advisors keeps selling it they are putting their needs ahead of their clients needs. And eventually they will have no clients.
I have a living trust, but I can’t find it after my move. It was not funded but I would like to fund it now. I had it prepared by an attorney years ago so I don’t remember who it was. Do I need to get a new trust or can I retrieve that information somewhere else?
@@ConcernCitizen-w1y yeah but you could still do it yourself just like taxes lol. It's just recommended to get a lawyer especially if you have complex situations
@stephenoutram I’m not sure if you can list the living trust as a beneficiary to a brokerage acct, but you can list it on a bank acct for sure. You would need to go to your bank and fill out a Pay On Death form (POD form)
We got a $5 dollar binder full of fluff that cost our family a million dollars in Trust Probate when our $8000,00 Santa Cruz Planner Who Promised Peace of mind delivered a pretty binder and ran from the Plan.

When we set up our revocable Fam trust the lawyers all said for my wife and I to place each other primary beneficiary on Life policies and the Trust contengiant beneficiary. They argued if money goes into a trust with one spouse still living and the living had creditors, they CAN go afterthe money going into the trust. Even if the trust has kids that it was ultimately created to protect. But I couldn't understand if thats what you were saying here is preferable or just do straight into the Trust.
LOL the Emergency Binder is a Fishing Hook to sell you an $8000.00 Estate Plan that cost our family 50% of our inheritance in Billable Litigation Hours when our parents hired an Estate Planner instead of paying the Nickel for an Inheritance Administrator.

It is called a pour over trust
What if I directly have beneficial to my bank account, does this still have to go through probate?
Good afternoon coach Toby!!
Consider an administration Lawyer who delivers services instead of a Plan our Coach ran from when it went into Trust Probate.
Does the same idea of putting your trust as beneficiary of an IRA apply to a ROTH IRA?
