World’s Busiest Airport Sights From Above: LAX

- This video shares my love of aviation. It is the first of a video series on airports and shows the busy airplane movements. LAX is one of the busiest airports in the world (the third busiest in 2019, behind Atlanta and Beijing).
My love of aviation started more than 20 years ago as a plane spotter. I have spent countless hours watching airplanes coming and going at LAX. The video includes rare and incredible "air-to-air" footage, taken from a Helicopter.
This video feature some of the best LAX movements, including footage from many A380 operators such as Emirates, Lufthansa, Air France, Korean and China Southern. It also features many B747s, B777s, B787s and A350s showing take-off and landing from close quarters.
The video was filmed from various locations and from day to night including the gorgeous SoCal sunset.

I love LAX, my hometown airport. I've done a bit of planespotting there (by In and Out) and some trip reports. Love spotting there.
I love it too. It used to be my hometown airport. But now it's the gateway to Asia which usually means for me a non-stop flight to Singapore and destinations beyond.

Now THAT is an INO I’d like to go to! I actually work at an INO in the DFW area in Texas but if I worked at that one next to LAX I prob wouldn’t be able to focus at my job because I like to watch planes so much!! Haha
Good times yea went to dock beiler beach when I was little the planes took off above us it was amazing and cool but now on 12th I went to dock beiler beach and lax no planes were flying or landing 😔 due to corona virus

I visited LAX last November. There were so many international heavies. I stayed in Quik parking. Your helicopter shots are simply breathtaking.

I managed to make my first trip to Las Angeles and LAX the week before the New Year! My dad and I plane spotted from the Homewood Suites Rooftop Lounge and the In n Out Burger. When we were inside eating we missed an Eastern 767, Cathay Pacific 747-8F, and a Qantas A380. I still managed to catch a lot of planes after that, because only then my flight radar started to work. This airport will always have a special place in my heart. My dad has some amazing pictures from his Nikon that I will always love! Especially the ones of the KLM 747-400M that I missed land, seeing my first ever A380, and the BOAC Retro Livery on the British Airways 746-400. I might as well make a video too (won’t be nearly as amazing as this).
Thanks for sharing your experience, there are so many amazing aircraft that travel in and out of that airport! I can’t wait to go back once this all blows over, it really was something to remember!
LAX is my favorite airport, I have always traveled through the airport since when I was a kid. I have found watching different types of planes taking off and landing fun to watch.

They're back for 6-8 weeks flying to China.
@JOSE JAVIER BONZA CORREA-Alumno KLM together with Philips have set up an air bridge to China and they will fly there with their 747 combis 5 times a week. The PH-BFT flew to Seoul yesterday and will return to Amsterdam via Beijing soon. The air bridge is set to last 6-8 weeks.

Being around airplanes is the most relaxing thing to do. I don't mind watching airplanes take off and land all day long. I never get bored of it
Grew up near there. As a kid it was a treat to go and watch the planes. As an adult I would go and grab lunch and sit on Imperial Hill or eat In n Out and watch planes. Great stuff Sam!

That burger place is okay. But it is not the best for picture taking. The roof top of Quik parking is better

Sam! Among many other things, Pilots are losing their vital skills as they are not flying. Please do a video on that if possible
This is actually a good point. Wondering if there's any use of simulators for the time being for practice. Hopefully things get back to normal soon.
yes. its very important. One hopes that airlines dont instantly rush to flying while Pilots need refresh course as to say
pilots wont lose there skill after a few measly months, the amount of hours they have spent both flying and in the simulator is enough for them to remember years after their last flight. if you have the passion pilots have its impossible to forget or become bad at

It’s the busiest by passenger movements and aircraft movements in the world.
Ppl always exaggerate Dubai international it’s like 6th by passenger movements and most international passengers but its aircraft movements barely passes 400k a year. For comparison Newark is 405k and Atalanta is 1mil basically.
LAX is 700k also.

I have been to LAX so many times, I have flown to 24 countries. USA, Canada, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Israel, Germany, UK, Hungary, Slovakia, Norway, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Thailand, Cambodia, Japan, Scotland, Ireland, France, Iceland, New Zealand, and Austria. All those trips started at LAX. That airport is connected to me. The first plane I ever flew was an ELAL Israel airlines, on a 777-200ER when I was 4 weeks old. It’s true. The only 747s I flew were and British airways and I got to sit in the cockpit. I’ve sat in the cockpit of so many planes you can’t even imagine. I really like your channel and I love airplanes with all my heart thanks for making this video about LAX! 😀 I flew the BA jumbo from Cape town, South Africa to London, Heathrow! 🛫✈️🛬

Awesome and inspiring as usual Sam. Love those shot from above going over the water and beach. Off to some nice destination 😀 seeing fewer and fewer 747 :( didn't realize their were any more KLM 747 left. Guessing it's days are numbered along with the other. Still see luhthansa still has some and some 380 superjumbos. Didn't know they had those in their fleet. Of course cargolux uses 747 but look for that to change to. Most of the planes are not blatant with what they are to the non aviation nerd, but those new China eastern Boeing 777 toward the end sure show it 😀wonder why they went with this less subtle approach? Also love how the airplanes in the video made the transition to night! Love it😀
