  • West Coast Yellowtail, Stripers on the East Coast, almost any species of fish will find these jigs every bit as interesting as we fishermen. Borrowing from traditional West Coast Iron designs, Nomad introduces a new surface iron with some unique features. The lure's design borrows heavily from other West Coast iron styles in terms of shape. The weight of the lures are a bit heavier than traditional jigs like Salas and Tady which have a multi-generational history of USA manufacture and fishing success. The finish is NOT painted, it's well under the lure's surface coating and will hold up longer than a paint job. You can find these lures at our shop and website:

Dear Mark, Great job! I love listening to your real life stories. It's wonderful that you're an honest guy, because I would buy the Brooklyn bridge from you. (:

Ah, shucks & thanks Jerald. Okay, so I don't have a bridge for you, but I do have this little darg... My wife has this little dog that needs a good home... Can I make you a deal on the delightful little critter and toss him in with some lures? Been trying to pawn off that thing since she got him... Just kidding, I think I'm stuck with a package deal. Wife's a keeper, it's just the dog that's gotta go...

these worked very well for my 8 day trip at the Ridge for YT but they do bend after couple fish so you have to bend it back. They swim much better then Tady and little heavier.

This was a great video. I've been using a 7ft Okuma 3-pc Nomad Xpress (30-60 lb line rating) and a Penn Fathom II 15 reel (spooled with 50 lb braid) for surface irons on party boats. I get about 50 - 60 yards with a 2 oz. Tady, but those heavier ones you showcased look worth a try.

The more tooth mark the better the bite. The best iron have little paint left.

Great video. Do you know if these are machined or poured?

Not like our standard iron. These look to have been made with an internal "frame" with weight, then finished with the overlay of probably a decal of the fish pattern, then another coating perhaps 1/8th inch plastic/vinyl type material surrounding the body of the lure. So, a bit more like a hard plug from Nomad or Rapala with a different material over the jig itself. Sorry if my description isn't great, have not cut one open and taken it apart...but I will no doubt do some dissecting to satisfy curiosity...after buying and fishing the jig. I need to see how she swims, by the looks of design it should have a good wobble on the retrieve. New stuff, have not had chance to abuse the product yet...but I will!

@@CharkBaitUSA I fished a CB charter years ago. It was your son's first LR trip on the RR-3. I was one of the guys on your video who lost bluefin to the killer whales.

@@tommytar123 That was quite an experience to witness on the trip. And, that orca moved on to scarf 60# tuna from another boat after it ate it's fill off our boat. Amazing to see that thing come up and inhale the tuna. What a memory!
