Finally someone that not only demoes EP or tubular bells patches, but also some exotic, aggressive ones. I like it! This demo convinced me about the DX.
This is God's sent gift for FM synthesis enthusiasts. I come from Amiga and PC MS-DOS era with Adlib/Sound Blaster. That era had that special sound attached to it...
Best Reface DX video on UA-cam. Yamaha should give you a commission. I really like this synths form factor and it sounds nice, but there are some big annoyances with this line. Undeniable afterthoughts. It’s high times Yamaha made a DX Mk2. The Opsix size is just dumb. Yammie got it just right here.
Damn okay. I was looking for good UA-cam videos to see what this thing can do, trying to justify the purchase. Mission accomplished. This blew away my expectations. Thank you for sharing and helping me justify a new toy! xD
Great demo and sounds. Yes worth every penny of the $300. Where else are you gong to get good dependable hardware for FM for $300. The interface is beautiful for FM. I bought this synth to learn FM sound design...and I am learning. Still hoping for the Reface CS too :)
Thanks for good demo. I recently got Reface CS which I like very much and I'm thinking whether to get DX too... Have you done any additional processing on this recording or is it the original sound? Sounds quite warm/organic to my ears.
How is the volume on the DX (both on the headphones and speakers)? I’ve owned a Reface CP for one day and returned it since the volume was so low that only when really hitting the keys hard the volume in the headphones was okish. Compare it to another CP and apparently that just how they are designed..
hey nice work. have you uploaded these sounds to soundmondo? would love to have some for my dx reface. Also I have a facebook group called Yamaha Reface Music group if you want to join!
@@alphacodesynth Yeah, would be awesome if you could share your presets. I know a lot of DX Reface users upload presets to Soundmondo (but I am at a loss as to how to use that, sorry.) I don't own a Reface DX (yet)... hoping I can save up for one after I get past my medical bills.
You can dump patches via sysex, there is just no command to trigger a dump from the Reface itself, so you have to send a dump request from some software. You can step through the 32 patches via MIDI program change and send a dump request after each. What IS a bigger a problem is that you can only send one sound at a time TO the Reface as well, because each received sound has to be saved manually with several button presses and confirmation dialogs.

Dudeee same 😂 others with the bells got really annoying

We come from the same era and you are totally right and the DX Reface is a wonderful little device for the studio
Great demo, not just the usual clangorous sounds FM is known for. The pads were especially nice
Buy two and midi them together. a friend has 4 of the Behringer Mini Moog model D's linked. What a sound with all those oscillators.
Please! Upload the sound to soundmondo so others can try them. This is amazing. I love it.

Quite good keybed, nice iconic sounds. Thanks for demo.🎉

Wow...
I didn't expect it sounds like something
Reminded me of the Killer’s “ Read My Mind”!

As far as Fm goes i would recommend to watch my Korg Opsix video, its a far better synth.
Thanks for the sounds. I have the CS. Might get the DX in the future.
Just like any other 4op FM synth, it will be great for New Beat and EBM.

All is internal, no extra processing. It has 2 built in Efx processors. Thanks.
get the all range they are amazing

I think your might have been faulty , u did not notice any issues on the dx,

Unfortunately not :(
Nice demo! I take it the sounds are your own, not factory presets (?).
yes 80% are rest is modified presets. I wish i had them and could share :(

from video I cant understand: are the keys velocity responsive?
Yes they are.
@@alphacodesynth Hi, can you turn off the velocity mode so all the keys are the same volume no matter how you press them?
@@smokeylee1986 yes i think you can
@@smokeylee1986 Yes you can set velocity for each operator
Only 32 patches and no sysex dump, great

Best sounds heard for Korg R3, can you sell me?
