- For a long time I wanted to do this job: to rework an old didactic video of the master Yuan Zumou by adding the Chinese characters and the pinyin of all 36 techniques. And add my music for Celtic harp too, since the original audio was bad. The result is a precious document that will remain over time, it was a pleasure to see the master once again while he performs, his harmony not only in Taiji Quan, but also in Traditional Wrestling. Then Yuan Zumou was 55 years old, today he is 82, but he always remains our reference. Thank you Master Yuan.
Grazie Maestro Yuan.

thank you for always providing us with such valuable content!
Thank you very much Basili Sifu. Fantastic video. 🙏
Superlativo.
Grazie mille per il video Maestro.
Buona serata:)
Very good demonstration, nice variety of technique and people. Very interestiing, an d unlike Judo and Akido, but lines are especially interesting. thank you for showing this martial art.
Grazie Chris. Over the last thirty years Shuai Jiao has also opened my eyes to other traditional styles.
great traditional martial art thank you
Absolutely incredible!!!
Master Basili- tremendous techniques, and a well produced program! Also of import, your background music, the harps, were appropriately pleasant to listen to as the viewer is experiencing the techniques.
Excellently done !
Ciao Victor, Thank you!
Paolo

Thank you, Master Basili! The footwork and set ups are very interesting and the throws look to be very effective! I believe this video will be useful to anyone that takes the time to study it in detail!
Thank you for your interesting video.
Very interesting material 🤔The depth and variety of this art continues to surprise and please me ☯️🙏 Amitofuo
thank you for teaching by showing friend
Great demonstration of techniques! Would be great if you could show the variations of these techniques without the jacket too! Thank you
Of course, all these techniques can be performed without a jacket. In the Xiang Bo regulation the competitions are all without jacket, very similar to the Tui Shou of Taiji Quan. In this Playlist you will find many videos on both Shuai Jiao (with grips on the dress) and on Xiang Bo (without grips on the dress) and on Shou Bo (with kicks and punches) ua-cam.com/play/PL3B427236B464C506.html
Super! Thanks!
Bellissimo!!
Great martial arts
Grato Mestre Dante Basili pela excelente edição do vídeo. Amazing, fluid and accurate
Ciao, An important document from our common Master 🙏🏽
What martial art is this?
Beautiful throw!👍
Elite moves n skillsets❤❤❤❤❤
That was a well down video of throws, and the students knew how to properly fall. 🥋 Keeping their head up, and breaking fall with hands down
they also knew how to jump :D not saying the throws dont work, but i mean, get ur hips in and students wont have to jump
@@antti3779they're jumping to take some power out of the throw...
awesome
Rất hay 😊😄👍

Old school combatives
Mister Basili thank you again for the great video. Could please make a video or give us any info on any chinese concepts of unbalancing. For example any similar to the japanese principles of kuzushi or the russian principles of podgotovka. These are different principles of pushing, pulling, pressing combinations etc.
Sure Ivo, I will it 🙏🏽
Really excellent
Grazie Timothy 🙏🏽
Moto grazie
Great job, shifu!!! Best regards from Brazil!
Ciao Pete, I do everything I can to document my Master's teachings 🙏🏽
It is always a pleasure to see the skills accrued through training demonstrated with such finesse. Is this from a school in France?
Thanks for sharing.
Yes Stefan, the master's first students in France 🙏🏽
Very soothing and supple movements. OSS please accept my respect.
so special techniques. from from judo and aikido.
Many grappling martial arts have these same techniques. Remember that both Judo and Aikido got their techniques from other martial arts: Judo took from Jujutsu and Catch Wrestling. Aikido Took from Aikijujutsu, specifically Daitō-Ryū.
And then have in mind that those same martial arts (Jujutsu and Daito Ryu) got their grappling tecniques yet from another martial art, Sumo, which probably took it's moves from somewhere else.
@@jestfullgremblim8002 jujutsu is just a genetic term in japan for dozens of unrelated systems of japanese unarmed grappling of the samurai its not a name of single martial art. and judo took mainly from kito ryu jujutsu and tenjin shinyo jujutsu n some wresting kano saw in books.
fun fact judo is actually the modernized n official successor of the kito ryu jujutsu system n kano kept all its kata(koshiki no kata in judo is kito ryu's kata unchanged) also the named his style judo because it was also a name of a kito ryu style from the 1700s
"Since Kano, Jigoro got the Kitō-ryū densho from his Sensei, Judo is the current Kitō-ryū official successor. Modified safer versions of Kitō-ryū throws form large part of Judo's Nagewaza (but without joint-locking throws)."
🥋Mil gracias shifu
Grazie a te Hugo che apprezzi 🙏🏽
Perfekt
Beautiful stuff! I’m just now getting into training this art
great, thank you.
Ďakujem!
Good demostration, my only complain would be that the students are mostly throwing themselves, which takes away some of the moves' actual beauty...
Thanks for the video!
This is a throwing demo, not sparring.
It’s done in a similar way in judo where a semi falls safely because y’know _falling hurts_
@@sushirice6751i know, i'm a Judoka. But some throws here are over-sold hahaha
@@MrCBTmanoh i know, was just saying that they are a bit exagerated as some of them would *never* look like they did even when done perfectly
True!
Wonderful. Is this Shuai from a particular style? If so..which kung fu style? Thank you! Respects,88KFM
Great video as always! Thank u so much! By the way what is this awesome music??
An old piece of music for Celtic harp of mine ua-cam.com/video/ZJ-xEoI9_yM/v-deo.html
@@DanteBasili Thank you!
I’ve never seen this before.. it’s great. In this shuai jiao?
Yes, Shuai Jiao, my master Yuan Zumou 🙏🏽
This gave me a sense of nostalgia.
Believe it or not there are small tweaks that makes each one of these far worse.
Even more so if you're ambidextrous as I am.
Wow I bet you’re a real killer
Im igor to learn how many techniques there are in Shuai jiao how many throws and takedowns compared to judo with 68 throws and 32 ground work 🥋🙂
Ciao. There are not 36 techniques, but thirty-six concepts that we each develop into different techniques. Here for example variations of Chuai, which in other martial arts would each have a different name. ua-cam.com/video/5Klx4SAVFeo/v-deo.html
I've studied both Tomiki Aikido and Judo and this is sort of how I do them combined. Really interesting.
Yes, in Shuai Jiao there are interesting aspects for Judo and Aikido practitioners, often the same concepts from another point of view.
Mister Basili, thanks for the video. Where can I find this beautiful music which you add to the video? Best regards, Roberto from Rio de Janeiro.
Hi Roberto, the music was created as a side dish to my short story, here you can find the full version: ua-cam.com/video/ZJ-xEoI9_yM/v-deo.html
@@DanteBasili Thanks! I will listen a lot.
It is true. And thank you for reminding me of this beautiful Chinese expression: Moving clouds, flowing water. Chinese is wonderful.
These might work vs a small, cooperative oponent, as in this video.
It's clearly just a teaching demonstration, not a fight. 🙏🏽 In tournament ua-cam.com/video/1sYRcTO4Auc/v-deo.html
I have back issues but do you think i can still use these if my form is correct?
Here the technique is demonstrative, as a martial art everything can be performed more simply
This is excellent!!
From what country is it?
Master Yuan Zumou is from Shanghai. Here he is with his European students in Paris.

Are this all techniques of Shuei Jiao?
Sure 🙏🏽
Looks almost like a dance
Here in competition ua-cam.com/video/VBCp6c-QW6o/v-deo.html
@@DanteBasili oh I don't doubt the effectiveness of it I train jiujitsu myself and have trained wrestling since I was young, when I say it looks like a dance im referring to how graceful the techniques look not the efficacy.
Very similar to Judo
What is the difference between Shuai Jiao and Shou Bo?
In Shou Bo the use of kicks and punches is also contemplated in competitions, otherwise no difference. www.shoubointernational.com/shou_bo_international_arts_martiaux.html
Ahhh thanks for the info 😊
I wish there was translation for the names
I will do it!
@@DanteBasili there goes my hero!
What is this called?
Shuai Jiao and Shou Bo
Want is this song called
Ciao Sean, It's an old Celtic harp song of mine ua-cam.com/video/ZJ-xEoI9_yM/v-deo.html
Ahh Romance Of Dance smilD Chelsa Boots
Well, his students are well trained in the art of taking a dive, anyway. Of course I understand that's what students do during demonstrations but, having done judo for a few years when I was younger, these throwing techniques don't look like they'd be effective against anyone with any kind of grappling background. This stuff is pretty, but ...
Ciao Bruce, It's just an instructional video, here you can see some Shuai Jiao and Shou Bo competitions ua-cam.com/play/PL3B427236B464C506.html
Dude shuai jiao definitely works there are tons of videos you can find on UA-cam
Did you really do judo?
See the video " Judo vs Shuai Jiao ( Chinese wrestling).
Considering that some of these throws are also found in judo it's hard to believe that you have much experience grappling
It would be better if the uke didn't jump into the throws..
Hi Jim, this is just an instructional video, here a competitive event ua-cam.com/video/1sYRcTO4Auc/v-deo.html 🙏🏽
Dance of Chelsa Boots
I understand the person helping you (uke in judo), but every single throw here was done with zero off balance (kuzushi). When he did his version of seoi nage, he didn't even pull, the other guy just lept. These are really bad examples.
he jumps
This is an instructional video.
@@lancelim8809 so?
@@lancelim8809 my comments aren't meant to be negative or show any disrespect. I think this video is great!
@@Sira628 its a demo, even in muay thai demos we jump back n toss our sleeves to the floor after getting blows kuz you obviously not striking or throwing foreals in a demo. duh lol
@@teovu5557 ok lets jump like rabbits
the students are jumping. not saying the throws dont work btw.
demostration of techniques its not a real fight the jumps are for dramatic effect. want to see actual shuai jiao throws just watch the tournaments lol
mixed with some familiar QinNa techniques...
