As a kid I used to love to have my birthday parties at McDonald's and loved their cake..I didn't know they still did this, but that was 40-45 years ago lol
I’m sure the cake was better back then 😃
I’m 46!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Tami, I'm 50 years old and my siblings who are in their early 40's got these cakes. They werent the best of cakes. But were better than what you guys got.
I must live under a rock. I had no idea McDonalds had cake! As a kid, I always wanted a Baskin Robbins ice cream cake for my birthdays. Thanks for trying this! Sounds like a decent price when in a hurry but perhaps not even then, given the hassle trying to track them down 😂
That’s the thing - you have to find a location that sells them.
I’m college we threw a surprise 21st bday for a friend at McDonald’s before we went out for the night. The people working the party were hilarious. Good cheap fun. 😂
That’s so cool! I bet your friend loved it!
Wow, I had no idea this existed.
I'm glad this was helpful :)
The Parties were held at the vintage McDonald's next to the regular one. . It was one of the oldest McDonaldsin the country in Portland.
And just used for the Birthday Party's.
They did all get Happy Meals and party favors, and we played games. It was really fun .❤
That really sounds like a lot of fun! 🎈
@TamiDunn
It was really fun. It made me consider being a school teacher. Instead, I became a flight attendant. Similar in some ways . Ha. Unruly people to deal with. But way Less schooling . 😀
I kid...I know , much different. 😊
When I worked at McDonald’s in the 90’s the chocolate cakes were delicious and incredibly moist. We sold at least one or two a day. I did a lot of the parties back then- I’m thinking the cost was around $24 for 10 kids that included burger, fries, drink, and ice cream and cake.
I worked at McDonald’s from 1992-94!
That's a great price!
I loved this review! I used to work at McDonald’s when I was 14-16 years old. I love it so much!
I don’t think folks do birthdays anymore. It’s sad. I had my 4th birthday at McDonald’s!
I love that you have so much life experience!
I prefer baking my own box cake. 🎉
I even prefer baking my own box than this. hehhehe
Tami, I was a hostess back In the Day for the Birthday Parties @McDonald's. I was 17 ..
It was so fun ❤❤
I bet that was a fun job!
Three of the McDonald's in our area have a party room/ playroom separated from the main dining area, enclosed in glass windows and a door. I've seen over 50 parties between the 3. Not many since 2020 but a few still. Never went there for a party. Growing up we had Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor and 90% of my friends had their parties there, myself included. A couple friends had theirs at Shakey's Pizza
It would be fun to see so many parties!
I've never heard of anything like this! Funny you learn something everyday! I always just thought any parties there brought their own cake. I'll have to check around ours and see what they have. We have about 5 locations in a reasonable distance but seems like Gattis pizza has most the parties 😂
I hope you find a location that has one!
I used to eat the leftovers the families would leave at the parties. It was soooo good! It had Ronald but it also had yellow tracing of icing around it, I think…the play place had two party rooms. They demolished a lot of these and made new ones with no play place.
I’m glad you had the chance to try it 😃
I had no idea about these cakes. Wow that’s crazy how dry it is. Great review
Thank you 😊
I wonder if this is available in the 🇬🇧. I hope the icing tastes good as it looks nice and thick. Glad that didn’t disappoint😁. Thanks for the review. One year we had a Pizza Hut party for our daughter, she must have been 6 or 7.
That’s so neat!
I haven’t seen a McDonald’s party for kids, and a long time out here in California specially, in Southern California
I know that Australian McDonalds still have party areas where there is a long table connected to the floor by bolts. They serve burgers and fries and drinks and the parent provides the cake, but the place provides the ice cream.
Oh my memories, now i want one🎉❤🎉
I was like,“McDonald’s sells cakes?!?!
I don’t remember having a party for myself at McDonalds but I went to at least one as a kid. They had a caboose behind the store. Canadian 80’s kid here. Not sure if they had them elsewhere.
A caboose sounds so cool!
I went to a birthday party at McDonalds when I was in preschool or kindergarten. I don’t remember getting a cake from there though.
I bet it was fun 😃
Im going to celebrate my birthday there this year!
I'm sure it will be fun!
Never heard of a cake from McDs nor went to a BD party.
Thanks for sharing with us. The price doesn’t sound bad if someone wanted quick n easy??
Have a great day.
I can imagine the parties being fun 😃
The McDonald's by me has a special room for Birthday parties. I see the room being used a lot on Saturday.
I'm glad to hear that :)
Yeah they used to have Ronald McDonald on them & yes the McDonald's I worked at in Orem Utah has the chocolate ones too. I wish they had all the McDonald's characters on the cake. That would've so cute.
I agree!
That looks yummy!
Sounds delicious
My kids had many birthday parties at McDonald's. They loved them. It was around 20 bucks for cake, happy meals and favors. I even had a couple of my birthdays at McDonald's. I'm 50 now.
That’s so neat!!
This takes me back, I had a birthday party at a McD’s when I was little in the ‘80s. They hate the huge Ronald candy appliqué, and it was quite good to my 3-year-old sensibilities
I’m so glad you still remember it 😃
wow that looks cool didn’t know mcdonald’s sell birthday cake lol
Wow!!!!!!
When I was a kid my cousin had a birthday party at McDonald's. I don't recall there being a provided cake, but I was pretty young. Having said that, I do vividly remember thinking "really, cuz, McDonald's?"
🤣🤣
I had no idea McDonalds does stuff like this. They dont advertise it
Those cakes were the bomb. They were so good.
Aww man I miss the play places... But they were complete germ fests!!! 😝
I've had meals at McDonalds as part of friends' birthday parties, but nobody actually hosted one there or got cake from there. I didn't even know they did either until recently.
I would think any fast food place would allow you to reserve seating for a party. That’s the way it used to be at least. 😃
every once in awhile they would put one of these out in the break room it was the chocolate cake and it was light and moist. If you were going to do a Birthday party you had order in advance so they could get the stuff ordered also don't know when filmed but the date was past
I’m glad you enjoyed it 😃
great necklace 45s adapter
Thank you!
Is that date the expiration date? Make that's why it tasted funny? Love your channel
Thank you! I think that was the date it was made and then frozen 😃
It’s the use by date, so the cake was old. I just made a different comment about it above (or maybe below😊). Tami, you should try to get a refund or replacement from the store for selling you guys an old cake.
Oh wow! I was certain that it was when they made the cake, too.
Are you sure this was expired?
@@joshuatexas Yes, I’m sure. The expiration date or use by date on the box was January 16, 2024…….This was the use by date, not the production date. I wanted to be sure before I typed the comment, so I rewatched another review of the McDonald’s cake. That box had the future date of November 2023 on it, and the review was posted in August 2023.
That would be nice if they sold icing in a container. Sounds yummy! 😄
The icing is good enough to eat by the spoonful 😃
Oooh fun
Thank you 😊
In my area it seems that Chuckie Cheese is the popular spot for younger kids birthday parties.
I Remember Eating at a McDonald's That had a Playground Outside in 2003
I never knew about the cake. I only went to one birthday party at McDonald's as a kid. We all got happy meals. I was disappointed because I wanted a plain double cheeseburger but had to choose between a Mcnugget happy meal or a cheeseburger happy meal.
Between those, I would choose the McNuggets :)
I didn’t know they had cakes
Lol... I didn't even know you could get a cake from Micky Ds... I would just use a box mix 😂😂😂 I never had my birthday at McDonald's but I did have one or two at Chuck E Cheese.
I attended a friends birthday party st Showbiz Pizza Place (the name before Chuck E Cheese) and then Andrew attended one later in the same place.
McDonald's has cakes? 😮
It was pretty good when I was 6 lol I had my 6th birthday party there
I like to make my own if it's not a big celebration, but for ready made store bought cakes, Costco can't be beat!
I'm not coming! I only want specialty cakes
I remember the ones from my childhood - the 90's - were disgustingly sweet.
This frosting is very sweet 😍
That was the saddest looking cake once i saw how dense and dry it looked after cutting 😂😂😂😂. ID RATHER BUY A 6 COUNT FROM WALMART THAN GET THAT MCDONALD'S CAKE😂😂🎉🎉🎉. GREAT VIDEO GUYS AS ALWAYS 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you 😊
Tami my birthday is Friday and I don’t have any plans so how about I have a birthday party at your house since you’re offering?! Knoxville isn’t too far. 😂
I hope you have a very happy birthday 🎂🎉🎊🎈🎁
Not a bad price.
Hi! The cake was not good, because it was expired and old. The expiration date or use by date on the box was January 16, 2024…….This was the use by date, not the production date. I wanted to be sure before I typed this, so I just rewatched another review of the McDonald’s cake. The box had the future date of November 2023 on it, and the review was posted in August 2023. Your store probably has old cakes, because people rarely buy them.
I’m glad we enjoyed the frosting 😃
I found out they sold cakes a few months ago. I didn’t have high hopes for the cake overall. I don’t mind dense, but not too dense. The only thing going for this is the price.
We had birthday party’s at Burger King and Chuck E Cheese growing up. 😂
Great review.
Chuck E Cheese 🙌🏻
I had my 8th bday party celebrate at McDonald's. :)
That’s awesome!
I saw a guy on facebook get this exact cake from mcdonald’s for $30
I would be ticked. It’s definitely not worth it.
I've always heard bad things about The mcdonalds cake. most of The reviewers said The cake was often old and expired so I wonder if yours had been their for a while
I’m not sure. The icing was great though 😃
I wish McDonalds came out with personal sized cakes!
That’s a great idea!
Dairy Queen has birthday partys for kids.i think they still do
I bet they do!
Just got the chocolate one today. Mine cost $15.99 plus tax.
I’m glad to know they have chocolate!
I went to a a McDonald’s birthday party when I was little for one of my cousins and then Pizza Hut I had a birthday party had a arcade and everything
That's so cool!
Just put the frosting on their pancakes!!!
Mcdonalds is trying to phase out Ronald theyve been doing it slowly for years .
That’s a shame!
They’ve been taking the fun out of McDonalds for a long time now.
Was it anybody's birthday that you were prompted to try this?
No, we like to eat cake for no reason. When the kids were growing up, we would say, “It’s Uncle Fester’s Birthday!” There is no Uncle Fester 😄
@@TamiDunn Do you perceive calling the husband of one's aunt or uncle as "Uncle" or the wife of one's uncle or aunt incorrect?
@@mcpeanutful I don't know what you are asking, so I will try to answer the best I can.
An Aunt is the sister of one's father or mother or the wife or female partner of one's uncle.
An Uncle is the brother of one's father or mother or the husband or male partner of one's aunt.
Good morning I didn't know McDonald's had a white cake but I don't go to McDonald's much great review thank you I have a great day God bless you
Thank you 😊
@@TamiDunn your welcome
1980s McDonald’s
I hate to say this but it’s almost like that cake deserved to be in a retirement home/hospital, not the icing, but for no flavor and no bounce it sounds about right for hospital and retirement homes.
Woohoo birthday party at grandpas retirement home 🎉
😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I didn't know McDonald's had a white birthday cake, Mr. and Mrs. Dunn.
Wow, I'm pretty sure McDonald's stopped doing birthday parties altogether during/before COVID, I'm surprised any of them still sell cakes :o
I would think they would be back to having parties now, thus making more cakes :)
First!
Thank you!
Sounds delicious
