if ya got pc, you can try it out on yuzu emulator. you can find tutorial on youtube. i recommend to use decent pc for it, cause its kinda laggy on mine.
NOTE: In mass outbreak every spawns is already predetermined, means resetting the game wont help much. and if there are more than 1 outbreak in different areas, save first in the village before proceeding on each one 😊

I was not progressing with the story in the beginning to try to find a shiny and after like 18hrs of looking I gave up and moved on to the story and just my luck as I was going to the next location randomly found a shiny roselia, I didn’t even have a roselia yet, I was so happy!! Non stop cheers
I've not caught many shiny Alpha Pokemon yet, but I got a shiny Rapidash in a massive mass outbreak the other day, it's probably one of the biggest alpha pokemon I have seen, it's huge! I have got nearly two boxes full of regular shinies though, the highest amount caught was 9 in one evening!
What I like doing is going back and forth between the village and a location until I get a mass outbreak of a Pokémon with a shiny I know I like, then if I don’t get a shiny from the outbreak I just leave and return to the village, then keep going back and forth again until I get another outbreak I want to go for. I also like flying over the maps with braviary just looking for shinies that way, it’s super chill.
Like 20 minutes ago I found a full ods shiny machop I thought it was a rock because special rocks have that glamour so naturally I called at the rock 😂
My first ever shiny in this game was a Magikarp, she's been on my team ever since. Shiny hunting in this game is so fun to me, hearing the shiny pop up on your screen is so satisfying.
I totally agree, I always get paranoid whenever I hear a sound because it could be a shiny. My first every shiny was a full odds Cascooon which I evolved into Dustox (worst decision of my life). That’s when I started shiny hunting!

i think gamefreak did a great job with the sound tbh. Although pokemon lets go also had that feature, the sound when there's a shiny nearby sounds as if you are rewarded and warned that there is a shiny near you.

The game will give me any other shiny ✨️ besides Gligar. Which is frustrating because I have his page 100% Completion. All my other shiny pokemon don't. It's torture. Wish I could trade 200 gligars for a shiny one.

i knew mosta the stuff before this tutorial. once i wasn't able to save before my second shiny-starly ran away. i remembered i saved the last night, and although i had made some progress between then i desperately reset from that save and went to camp and rested. i went to where the starly had spawned and caught the shiny. close call.

Outbreaks and respawning are probably going to be hella exploitable. Ex. Outbreak , save, 15 catches, no shiny, reset, repeat till shiny, save.

1 in 4,096 or 1 in 271 outbreaks groups/resets if my math is correct.

When do you unlock mass outbreaks? Is it past main story?

This tip worked I found 4 shines while catching some Pokemon
So far I got full odds Eevee and Buizel and massing Starly and Silcoon shiny hunting in Legends is a lot for fun and forgiving.

Be careful using false swipe though. Soooo many mons have self damaging moves. But if you saved beforehand it’s not a big problem

The method I’ve used to find 8 different shinies is having a good gaming chair.
