  • In this video we build some screw type jack stands to level out our cheap homemade Sherp style ultimate ATV. As with all our projects we use junk that is laying around in the piles of ground obtainium. Hopefully these will allow us to level the frame and make the rest of the construction easier or at least plumb and level.

@@TheDistur ya I hope to use them under my tiny house after the sherp build to keep it from bouncing around or maybe I will have to build a few more now that I know they work

Nice work sir. Very heavy duty useful jack stands.

billy i think your running the frame on the wrong side of the axles. if you you build it frame over the axles it will probably float with nothing in the water but the bottom of the tires and you wont need to boat hull the bottom of the body. the vehicle will be very stable in the water because of the extra buoyancy in the top half of the tire. the more a tire gets pushed down into the water the more water the tire displaces the more buoyancy it will have. when those monster trucks float in water and flip upside down its because almost the entire tire is under water and there is no extra buoyancy so when it starts to list it just flips over putting the heavy side ( the body) at the bottom. you wont have that problem. however you build it, build it light so you have the least amount of draft possible. it might even be able to crawl from open water on to ice

@@AA-tb4ff unfortunately because of the way the robson drive is going to be configured I need the frame under the axles and the centre of the tire up higher for the physics of it to work. I will have to sacrifice some floatation and ground clearance to make it work. Keep watching in the next few episodes I will cover more of how the drive is going to be put together and why I have mounted the axle on top and up high
