Super cheap homemade powered wheelbarrow (Dumper from the dumpster)

We got our steering figured out on the dumper from the dumpster but it sucked so we started from scratch with a new idea and hopefully this time it will do what I need it to and be simpler.

Today we start on a new project, "the dumper from the dumpster". My wife wants a new wheelbarrow and pushing a load of poop up hill sucks so I'm trying to come up with a self propelled one out of ground obtainium. lets see how this one goes

Built tough! Made to last.
Damn it Blobby! Seems like you're getting it sorted.
Looks like you got just a bit of toe there
Cool build been dreaming up something similar in my brain. Maybe make a sulky with a seat?
@@riverfrontww keep watching and maybe I will provide you with enough inspiration to build something similar or at least how to do it without so many steps in the wrong direction
You the man, great stuff. Cheers.

Much better when it's simple. Cheers.
I try to work on the KISS principle but sometimes the ideas just start to run away with themselves
@@HillBillyVoodoo It's amazing even when using the kiss principal that Murphy always seems to have the time to show up and put his two cents in, however that's how we get knowledge. Cheers.
Better steering indeed!
Looks like a sturdy tail wheel setup. Good stuff.
I,m going to add a bunch of reinforcement to it just to make sure its up to the abuse I know I will throw at it. Thanks for watching
Very interesting. Nice work again. Looking forward to see what you are going to make
Thanks for watching. I hope it ends up being a good addition to the equipment around here
I know you're not loading 36 inch 16foot white oak logs with it , but have you made a guestimate as to how much she will "safely" lift??? I have enough since to know that smaller equipment hasta be used easily , or you're gonna break stuff. But sometimes something heavy hasta be moved.
@@coburnlowman no idea how much it will safely lift but I have moved 36” 10’ fir logs on to the sawmill with the counter weight on the rear with no problem
@@HillBillyVoodoo Yeah that's nothing to sneeze at. It's probably plenty strong enough to self destruct if it were pushed too hard. I just found your channel a couple days ago. Have been enjoying your content
@@coburnlowman yup if you get a bit greedy and don’t have the weight on the back it will chuck you right over the steering wheel. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for some other cool stuff I have coming up
Lookin good. Cheers.
Thanks 👍hope you are enjoying the builds so far
Another fun project!

turn the front axle beam around as well? counterbalance?

Genius
nope just lucky
Gear ratio is 3, 6, 9 the goose drank wine, the monkey chewed tobacco on the street car line, the line broke, the monkey got choked, and they all went to heaven in a little row boat, clap clap.LOL. Cheers mate.
That’s almost the exact same thing I hear in my head every time I have to do math haha
You've gotta be happy with a self made pulley from a home harvested ally slug and a genius laminated tip tool. use what you got....great stuff. Don't forget.......you actually got out of your chair and made a vehichle !!! Legend.
Ya it kinda turned out cool. Got a few bugs yet to work out but nothing major. Thanks for watching
that worked pretty good for a fix! your homemade pulley is amazing too and the fact you even cast the slug of aluminum yourself. the epitome of homemade
Ya I need to spend some time this month casting some more blanks, the scrap aluminum box is getting out of hand and the blanks and round stock is really low. Thanks for watching
Eyyy it's rolling!
just you wait does it ever roll haha
Jack shaft is probably the thing unless you feel like cobbling some kind of reduction gearbox/chaincase together.
I’m thinking that’s going to be the way to go and the least complicated
Norhing says amurrica like japanese dirt bikes.
Amurrica needs to start making bikes that I can afford
A chainsaw clutch may not fit but may be a thing to try
I might just copy a saw clutch but make it fit the 1 inch shaft
Should have just put a milk crate on the back and they want notice the paint job. A klr without a milk crate is just weird
I took the milk crate off so I didn’t accidentally climb on someone else’s bike haha
@@HillBillyVoodoo you outsmarted the smart ass, I’ll send you a leglamp award
Too late; I already bought a Gen 3 KLR…but in the last year, that ugly ole thing has become beautiful to me. Yours looks cool
To me, the cammy was cool, but the lime is also cool.
Ya it’s funny how something so ugly can grow on you. At least when I stand next to it it kinda draws the attention away from me haha
hey hillbilly use the axle shaft you got on there for a jack shaft. cut the hubs off and add another axle shaft behind your existing shaft with another pair of bearings and run a chain between the two. basically just add another axle behind the one you got and weld your hubs on. then you dont have to change any of the clutch or brake parts you made.
I know that feeling when a great plan doesn’t work as planned. It moved and the mechanics seemed actually pretty good. I think you need a better clutch though
I think I have come up with another idea to fix the gear ratio stay tuned to see if it works
Keep going, that's what makes your channel so good, you always find a way. You know that you can do it. No ideas from me, I'm depending on you.Cheers.
Thanks for the support. Sometimes I just need to go for a ride and get some perspective on problems to keep myself from getting frustrated keep watching I think I got a solution
been looking at the pic of the drive system and had a brainfart. how bout having a pivot on the seat so you can see saw a downward tensioner or an intermediate wheel as an idler between driver and driven and lose the belt? or, i could shut up🙂
I was totally going to try a friction wheel type thing off the motor to reduce the ratio but I think I’ve found another solution that might be less complicated thanks for watching and stay tuned to see what ends up working
hello dude. how about a small wheel and tyre for the drive or driven pulley, or a small castor and tyre from a shopping cart? the mech looks good but no bite between belt and pulleys. stay with it. joy to listen to you think, reminds me of me and the people i've worked with here in england. great channel.
Nice work man. Yeah painting is not really my thing. Looking good
Used to really be my thing but now it is only for when we need it to rain haha
some of your most viewed videos had your homemade loader in them. i would like to see you build like a tuk tuk dump truck/ yard truck out of an old pick up frame and tiny motor load it with your red loader and haul your loader around with it. oh and haul massive over size loads with it too, top heavy and super tippy and dangerous
It’s almost like you’re in my head. Keep on watching you won’t be disappointed
Cool, thanks for sharing. Cheers.
Thanks for watching should be doing more in the future with this bike so stay tuned
