CA Springfield Hellcat 500 Round Review

- The Springfield Hellcat was added to the California Handgun Roster in 2023, and I was anxious to get my hands on one. The Ca version comes Optic ready, with a loaded chamber indicator, and a magazine disconnect.

The Optics ready part is much appreciated.

First impressions.
Nice Trigger.
Slim, Light weight.
Ergonomic.
Nice grippy texture.
Comes with 2 10rd magazines.
Great sights.

All in all I liked it before I shot it. Then after shooting it I liked it more. I took it out to the range with 500 rounds, and got a great feel for the gun. During the 500 rounds I never experienced a malfunction. The trigger wore in, and became lighter, crisper, and made the experience even better.

The Springfield Hellcat is an excellent gun for Concealed Carry.

1st video I've seen of the CA model, nice!
I enjoyed shooting it. Was my first time shooting the CA version. To be honest the mag disconnect doesn’t bother me as it doesn’t prevent the mags from dropping free, and the loaded chamber indicator doesn’t affect functionality. All in all I loved it, and the pro fits my hands even better! Thanks for watching!

Will these be legal for concealed carry in CA? Is it possible for my friend to transfer his hellcat he got in Texas to me in CA
@@meelahdghomeshihas to be a California resident to California resident. If he moved back, reported his pistols to the government, he can do it legally. Otherwise you’re gonna have to do workarounds. Him transfer to a child, parent, or grandparent, who then sells it to you. Bear in mind this straddles straw purchase territory, so be careful.
Shot a p365 at the range and didn’t like the grip angle

Bought an Sig 320 m18 December 6, loving it , January 6 bought a P365, I get to pick it up tomorrow. I put in a deposit for the hellcat pro two days ago. I think I have a problem 😂

Thanks for the comment. I decided to check a few randomly to see if they have this issue. If the few I tried all dropped mags with the slide locked back.

Just picked one up. How do you break it down with the solid mag disconnect!? Can’t pull the trigger
When you operate the takedown lever it overrides the mag disconnect.
Are the magazines interchangeable between CA variant and off rosters?.

Question: The mag doesn’t drop freely after pressing the mag release in my Hellcat CA version, does yours let the mag drop freely? If not, is the magazine disconnect thing the reason? It isn’t a problem for my P365 CA version tho, mag drops freely in my P365

@@hcjr781981 I lubricated the surface of the magazine disconnect lever in the mag well and the back of the magazines. After that they drop free most of the time. However, when the lubricant wears out or got wipe off, they don’t drop freely again. I am pretty sure the magazine disconnect lever that makes contact with the magazine is the culprit.
You don’t need that mag disconnect, lol.
@@weduhpeople8504 yes, we don’t need the mag disconnect, but I don’t want to alter the firearm due to manufacturer's warranty. Also, We people in CA can’t pull a modified pistol on our CCW license.
How does this compared to Sig P365?
I’m still an Sig guy, but I’d say it’s splitting hairs, and is a matter of preference. Thanks for watching!

That's an excellent question. I've seen guys color fill them with black, but I didn't think to ask if they removed the white first. I'll have to ask my buddy. I think he used the auto body touchup paint. Thanks for watching we appreciate you!

I just picked up hellcat pro 2 days ago. Trigger is just horrible on it.
