Dr. Chandra visited our lab at the University of Toronto in around 1987. My supervisor was in awe of him. A little digging into his publications indicated that he was the senior author of most of his scientific publications. I became suspicious. My first thought was the he was building his career on the backs of unfortunate graduate students: no professor would have the time to conduct that body of research. If my passing encounter with Dr. Chandra could have aroused my suspicions, I find it rather difficult to believe his associates at Memorial were blithely unaware of his fraud over such an extended period.
