You have to use the power level and sensor cook features to really compare a microwave. Inverter microwaves like Panasonic has are good for this because they modulate the magnatron wattage as opposed to just turning it off and on during the cooking.
If the touchscreen had a 'user settings' button where you could customize the toast time for your favorite bread products.....that'd be awesome. You could dial in exactly how long your perfectly toasted bread takes, save it, and have that every single time.

But then I realized you'd have no idea how to cut open an english muffin correctly with a fork. Honestly there's a huge difference and I urge you to go for the fork method. The butter sits in the nooks created so much better. English muffins done right are a delightful time.

We have a toaster that's like a cross between these two. You have to turn the dial and push down the lever, but it has a bagel setting (that doesn't burn our bagels, thankfully) and can make toast from frozen bread. It's pretty nice.
I think you have to put the $300 toaster on a lower setting on the other bread types, like you did for the bread. The bread is on 3 for the $300 toaster and 4 on the $15 toaster. Thank you for making this video and all ur videos they are fun to watch!!!
More of a general reply, but it has to do with the framerate of the camera and the screen of the toaster. When they don't match, you'll get that flickering pattern on the screen. Phones, TV's, etc.. all do this unless the camera can match the refresh rate basically.

As a side note, I don't miss being jump scared every time a toaster pops, so the jingle and moving bit (don't know what it's called, the sucker inner and pusher outer part) is cool.

However the photo of how the bread, English muffin, or bagel are supposed to appear were inaccurate. For years people ask the question how much more toasted is 4 than 3, no accurate depiction was ever given. It was always trial and error but though this new technology tried to achieve that resolution they did fail. For the money you spend for that technology it most definitely should be accurate, oh and you ought to be able to watch TV on the screen too. I mean what else are you going to do while waiting on toast, sip some coffee and watch the news.

I have the cheap Hamilton Beach toaster. I have had it for many years and I am perfectly happy with it. It even traveled around the country in a Freightliner for a while. It is currently on my mother's counter, and she is perfectly happy with it too.

As long as the knife doesn't enter the toaster there's no problem. I just rewatched the video to be sure and in the ones you can see the bread item being removed, the knife never enters the toaster slot; it pulls the item out above it.
