- I Found the Match! Thrift With Me at Goodwill in Las Vegas
What were the chances that I would find the match to the huge glass vase I bought months ago! I did just that at this Goodwill in Las Vegas where I shop with my friends Tiffany @ThriftingVegas and Kari. Watch and see what goodies we found!

This was fun to watch! I'll never understand why people choose to spend their energy to be rude and hateful. You just keep on doing any type of videos you want. We appreciate your knowledge and experience. Not everyone would be as helpful to those starting their own business.

I have to say that painting pottery has had a HUGE come back in the past several years, especially since Covid. Also, the hobby pieces are all fired on a kiln. The ceramic clay they are made of is usually low fire but they have to be fired in a kiln. Some people do ceramics and pottery for a living so they are more than a hobby for some.
My sister did an entire Xmas village. People are blown away by her talent.
She didn't say it wasn't fired in a kiln she said there was no glaze or if there is a glaze you can tell it wasn't done in a kiln that it was done in a oven. She was talking about the Holland molds and other greenware pottery not the artisan pieces done at a studio or home kiln.
@@dittohead7044 I did as well. I took ceramics classes for many many years. I bought a kiln and many many molds and started doing it all myself. I did that for a long time. I am now a full time potter where I make everything by hand. I do still use molds for some things but I have moved to midfire clay and glazes which are completely different than low fire.
.. mm
You girls crack me up, y'all have so much fun shopping. I have learned so much about vintage and antiques from watching your videos.
Hi, Danni, I am a new great fan of yours, and I hope you see this. I am a retired Grief Therapist, who, unfortunately, was injured quite badly and cannot do what I used to. But, like you, I’ve always been determined to keep a positive attitude! I happened to see your channel one night and loved it! My dad and I used to go garage sales growing up, and he taught me the rules of how to buy things. Some of the best memories. And you have such sweet children and friends. I’m so sorry, though, for the tougher issues you’ve faced. You came through it with grace, and they will have to face God! Looking forward to more videos! Rebecca
The needlework piece was crewel and so gorgeous!!! Thanks for the great video Danni!
Yes,. Thought it was crewel,.
A quick memory from an old lady. While in college, 60 years ago, we went to byob parties and always took scotch as so few people drink it as a casual drink. You either love it or hate it. There is not in between. One other thought. It is not that life is so short; it is that death is so long. Merry Christmas
Watching my two favorite ladies while sipping my coffee .. thank you so much for all the information you share!
Frame 10:16 When I was a kid my Grand Mother brought me an old timey looking living room set ( you know couch, coffee table, side chair, etc ) & bed room set ( complete with mirrored vanity ). She lived in Arkansas & had gotten it from a man there, that made art out of old tin cans. That was back in the early 70's. Seeing what you had picked up there reminded me of that. Thanks !
That is an incredible and funny story! How long did it last?
@@pamhendry1176 Quite some time. My Grand Mother was a kind person, but a little bit strange. lol
I wonder if the Crazy Lamp Lady felt a "tremor in the force" when you snagged all those bird music boxes.
❤️ u ladies 2gether!
You two are hilarious! And then add Tiffany and everything gets funnier. Loved this shopping adventure. I'm such a sucker for art, but that stuff Kari had 😲😨scary! Not on my walls that's for sure. I loved the little baby photo...so precious. I would have bought her so I could paint a watercolour portrait. Babies are my absolute favourite subject.
The amber glass vase is gorgeous. I really like that shape. Thank you for filming and sharing the fun Danni!
The plain thing is called green ware that a hobbiest paints with glaze. Then it is fired in a kiln to cure the glaze.
yes but in the 70-80s they generally didnt have a kiln at home so they cured them in ovens or left them unglazed.
Thank you Danni and Kari for the shop! You guy’s are fun! 👍☺️💐🇬🇧
No one could find 3 wisemen lol
It’s a real blessing if you can find one🤣🤣🤣
Exactly 🤣
That was so much fun listening to you girls at Good Will !! 😁
Im so glad that you explained what a hobbyist piece is.
The rectangle amber glass vase looks like a mid-century Italian piece that my mom has.
My parents had a ceramic shop for hobbyist in the 70 and we used a kilm to fire.
Yes but the majority were done at home and were unglazed or fired in a oven
You guys are having so much fun! Good to see!
At 35:02, the green trimmed plates with rose in middle....the plates we had when I was little kid...back around 1960.
Always enjoy watching you two, got my $25 Mystery box jewelry today, love everything! Watching you get “shop done”!
My granddaughters still paint at a shop! ... they were younger when they started. 3 and 4
Yes but those are the newer molds not the ones they were talking about
Thank you for the time and effort you put into these videos to inform and amuse us.
I recommend that you find a cheap music box and give it to Noah to experiment with. Overwound music boxes are often easily fixed! That cute little sugarer pattern is "Pretzel". It is not oldenough to be EAPG. Crewel embroidery (that last picture) is done with wool, often on linen. Counted cross stitch, huck toweling, bureau scarves, etc. are done with 6 strand cotton floss, often only 3 threads of the 6.
You guys make me laugh and I’m in the room by myself
Yay! Let’s get ship done!
Clank away, I love it
You guys are SO cute, and fun! I wish I lived closer to you.
My mom had a ceramic shop in the early 80's. We have a few of her pieces. I cherish them.
Yes, my mum did hundreds of green ware. Must admit she was very good and some were gorgeous pieces. We often dreaded Christmas. I’ll give you one guess why. Trouble is the stuff chips very easily.
Cane toads were a thing in Australia then and mum gave my late husband a giant cane toad which he loved. It has survived and my youngest son now has it. The young family members today ask , “Why a cane toad?” They think she was insulting him. She wasn’t. It never crossed my mind.
Just for terminology - hobbiest ceramics. If it has been fired once and is all white before you paint it, it is call BISQUE. If the clay is in it’ wet clay form it is called GREEN.
Love the pink and black sweater. I am new to you so am watching all the videos. Even the old ones! Love them!
Hey Danni that crystal iced bucket with the etched flower that you checked with the black light is princess house.
Lidless teapot would look cool with one of your flower arrangements in
Dani, You always get such great items.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jocelyn Elizabeth, has "She believed she could so she did" in her home. I think it was a gift from her Mom.
And it totally fits her!
I was a tissue thing I did one of my bedrooms ceilings in that you put a layer of paint on the wall and then you put the tissue paper and you will over it with your roller and it makes me crinkle look I love it
That was a fun little jaunt. Sorry there were so many negative Nellie comments. I went all “mama bear” on them, Danni. Lol Most of us “got your back.”💜
Thank you! I appreciate that!
The glass ice bucket you put blacklight to is original princess house crystal
I’m glad you got the Corvus mugs. They’re just great:)
Hello Carrie, love you both. I also enjoyed seeing Tiffany. Love her channel also...
Hi Tracee!
I love you Niche Lady and all your finds
Thanks to you, I found a brand new, in the box small white cactus bud vase by Shiraleah for only $1.00. I bought 2. Will sell them at a flea market.
Nappy, in antique glassware terms, . In most instances, it defines a small bowl, with or without one or two handles. ... The term is likely derived from the obsolete word “nap” which referenced a drinking cup or bowl in Middle English.
Wondering…I use to do ceramics in a studio. Which requires a green mold to be trimmed of mold marks, sanded & cleaned & then fired in a kiln. Afterwards, it is usually painted or glazed & fired again (there are a number of different techniques). I’ve always considered these Hobbyist pieces as well. Would you agree? I have a number of my Mother’s pieces that were done in the 60’s-70’s. She did incredible work:):)
I’d agree. And I love them. I used to do ceramics in the 70s with my mom and granny. I love finding those pieces now.
I love how you touch the it3ms gently and pat them while telling them they aren't going with you and they must stay. 😆😆😆😆
I believe the food poison dish was perhaps a miniature pitcher and bowl...not for cream?
Nappy😂😂 Good one ladies !!
The green Portuguese vase is awesome. Wish I could get it
Time stamp 32.08, the etched wheel that you talked about is actually a vintage princess house ice bucket.
Joanne you are correct. My mother had a lot of Princess House pieces!
We have one dollar tree my town..and i find things at goodwill..from dollar tree marked for Like 2 or 3$ it's crazy
Danni I went to a funny little Vintage store and thought of you. I found a figurine, more like a little garden statue, it's a Mushroom with two Turtles climbing on the on the top. So cute, but I didn't buy it because the owner only takes cash....and who carries cash anymore.
Frame 47:00 Those 3 are Thimbles ! How cute !!!
Watch out Vegas! 3 nuts on the loose lol
Your videos help me relax!
The process of firing your bisque . Is to put it in a kiln, Not an oven. Some hobbyists are very good and take great care to paint and glaze properly. It was a very common hobby in late 60's to late 80's. I Remember my mom and her friends taking classes. It was a great business for many years. They clear glass piece looks similar to a princesse house pattern. Not as wellknow. It's a soft eched flower. Here in Canada. Hard to tell on camera
Great finds...love your knowledge
Love the blue asian piece!
It always amazes me how some people save the original packaging to pieces now we just toss them . thank you for the sound effects that was funny . that scotch glen levitts was my dads christmas present for several years running .just thought i would throw this out there since i saw it in the video those gelavia canisters avoid those like the plague they break really easily and that is because they are cheaply made .
Awesome video and you picked up some really great items. 🥰
DANNI. That looks like a princess house ice bucket
From the early 80’s.
Yup! Not sure why my brain wasn't going there at the time!
You Girls are hilarious 😂 " Hey, behave ,it's senior day" 🤣 😆 😂 I almost spit out my coffee ☕ 🤣
I just love Carrie she is so much fun. Love to watch the show.
I hope you sweet ladies went for a nice lunch when you finished. The beautiful piece at the end is crewel. So sad how people don't pass that on. Oh bummer that you didn't get 40%
Wondering…I use to do ceramics where you go to a studio, choose a green piece & cut off mold marks, sand and fire. Then, paint or glaze & have fired again (there are a number of techniques). I consider these hobbyist pieces as well. Would you agree? My Mother did ceramics in the 60 & 70’s. I still have some of her pieces. They are amazing:):)
Whiskey is life!😁
You can turn the bluebird back down. The whole collection is ni e. I ❤ your Goodwill stores. I am tempted to drive 4 hours to go to the Goodwill bims. Maybe I could find something. I found a Broyhill older lamp table. It needs refinisbed, but I am going to do it. I hope to find an old wood kitchen table and chairs. I am tired of junk furniture that is new. It breaks so easy.
At the 32 minute mark that Crystal ice bucket with the etched flower design is Princess house Crystal. I bought one new back in the 80’s.
Ahhhh yes! I thought it felt newer! (Newer than 1920's glass)
@@TheNICHELady I see Princess House Crystal in thrift stores by me all the time but the resell value just doesn’t seem to be very good for those items.
That sitying king tile next to box and second set bird music box, i have an ornament or nic nac just like..not valuable maybe. No tag on mine but nice. Will take the yello bird (canary?) In a heartbeat no matter what!
You two are great fun ,love watching you .Thank you. Take care xx❤️🇬🇧
The hobbiest wise man you picked up never had a full nativity set. I have the 3 wise men set from the 1970s.
I love to hear you ladies laugh
That wood frame thing with tin can liner looks like a mini hot tub.
That’s a Princess House Crystal ice bucket. The one you said had shallow etching.
The crystal ice bucket is from Princess House. All of princess house have that same design
Ty
Loved it! I need to tell you That darling bird music box is a PUFFIN instead! Great haul!
That coat looks good on you .
You have officially got me into liking fruit and veg dishes and decor...certain ones ..along with my birds trees flowers leaves motif
You guys are sooo good for each other! I love shopping but you gals put the "F" in Fun shopping!
The banana split dishes, are used here in CR for ceviche.
Cool idea!
I was watching a video on how the two companies delivered items. They showed (I think) Fed Ex letting the bed fall onto the walkway of the home (not land it slower). It made a noticeable dent on the headboard. (Reorder and use a competitor.) I'm not surprised you're so concerned about shipping. Good luck for receiving anything intact. Sad)
I loved this one! It had the triple threat with super powers at good will today! Amen!
You two are a hoot, so funny and fun to watch! (๑`✪̤◡✪̤)◞ღԵհɑղƘՏღ
I have the cardinal. It was my MeMe's. 💜
Another great video thanks 😊
Scotch whiskey. I feel exactly the same way.
So funny you mentioned it, I just found a baccarat starfish paperweight for 2.50 at a local thrift store.
I love the framed needlepoint at the end! ❤
I love that pink glass
Many people look to complete a series of Hallmark ornaments so getting the year ones actually are good.
I'm sure you figured this out, but that nautical piece was missing one of the spokes of the wheel. Sorry to fun sponge you:/
Saw it right away! 😉
9 mo's later, I understand the term hobby piece.
The green base that says fabrique at the bottom that mean made in
Another of people just collect the wise men and leave them out all year because "Wise men Still Seek Him ".
Omg a Betty Davis cat puppet
You got sidetracked by the turtles.lol...and didn't show us the big cow.
Basket flower pic? Crewel or embriodery if its not needlepoint pps lol Gorgeous!
32:08 that’s a princess house crystal ice bucket
Surprised you didn’t check out the little Christmas Tree box at the edge of the shelf in the vicinity of the tin can. So pretty.
You are so lucky to have so much on your goodwill stores- shelves are sparse at mine!
