      If you listen you can tell it sounds a bit dead. That could be due to the copious amount of foam inside or the switches. I don't think its on par but for something readily available you could probably do worse.

    I'm surprised i haven't seen anyone customize the little usb dongle cover. Seems like an obvious and easy thing. Could 3D print something in plastic. Or even very easily make something with metal. It's only a small steaight piece so you could cut a metal strip from your local hardware store in stell, brass, etc. Polish it, paint it, anodize, etc. Get a laser engraving. Hecl you coild probably get something really fancy made from someone if you provide dimensions lole those badges you see on $500 group buy boards.

    • @itssamueltan
      @itssamueltan  Рік тому +2

      It's actually quite alot just for a small badge that doesn't do anything much. So maybe people just have better things to do than that. But if I had the machines and skills I would definitely make one

    Sooo I got both the V75 and V65 v2 to compare, and there's actually a bit of a difference in sound and feel. The V65 feels a lot more 'creamy' and satisfying to type on, kinda like a creamy clack fron playing with Legos. The V75 sounds 'deeper', but also louder and hollower, like it has a 'wooden' quality about it. It didn't feel sturdy and premium.
    In fact, I ordered another V65 because the first one was opened up already (possibly an Amazon return) and had some minor cosmetic issues. Even the two V65s I had showed a lot of difference! So the QC doesn't seem very good and it's on luck whether your particular unit will sound and feel good.
    The volume knob on the V75 is larger and ribbed-textured around the circumference, so it's objectively better because it rotates more robustly.
    However, the strip of light on the V75, while fun and nice to look at, ruins the retro aesthetic. But it's not that big of an issue since you can turn it off. The worst offender is the metal wolf cover of the USB receiver; makes the whole unit look cheap. I also personally dislike the tall appearance with the function row, but I want the dedicated tilde button.
    If only I can have a V65 form factor with a tilde and better volume knob.

      That's good to know!

      For that price you could have gotten a cycle7 which probably is a better board overall.

    • @natphil8377
      @natphil8377 Рік тому

      @@jlee9360 not a fan of TKL layout (only want 65% or at most 75%), and the aesthetics don't appeal to me. i rather like the retro look of the Cidoo series. the cycle7 is not a better board overall because it lacks the volume knob and looks cheap/tacky. the cidoo V65 (not the V75, which I admit has a metallic receiver cover that looks cheap) is affordably priced while looking and feeling way more expensive. anyway, the after-sales support is better with a known company like Cidoo/Epomaker, but I'd never heard of cycle7 until your comment (so, before your comment. the Cidoo was the best value option and may still be).
