In this episode of Project TJ, I unfortunately take off the Metalcloak front bumper and install an ARB Winch Bar

Awesome installation
Thanks 👍
Cool music perfect-bar looks great
Thank you!
Great video Darryl. A shame politicians pass these types of laws. That is why people in the States move to places like Texas & Florida to escape regulations, taxes, and fines in places like California and New York.
I hate it, laws for the sake of laws.
🇸🇪 I just lowe the arb bumper, the coloring is perfect👍👍
All the best . Nicklas
Thanks so much Nicklas.
Mine has held the test of time on the front of my LJ. Powder coating is faded now (13yo) so I think I’ll paint match it and continue running it. Love ARB products. My tire carrier on the rear has been a soldier as well
Agree, they make some well build stuff.
That bumper is huge
Nah it'd fairly typical, it's just the Metalcloak version was so minimal.
Nice video!
Thanks!
Change can also be as expensive as a holiday. I have the arb bar fitted to my tj which I find really good, if a bit heavy for such a light 4wd.
Yes, could have done without that expense.
Nice
Thank you!
Another excellent job. What is today's theme music?
Whew that was a change. Your laws are such a bummer. Basically seems like you couldn’t have a stinger bumper either based on the schematics you showed. Good job installing btw! Suggestion: replace the marker lights on bumper for fog lights you can control.
_Basically seems like you couldn't have a stinger bumper either_ - I guess there is a silver lining to every cloud! 😆
These officers would stroke out if Americans shipped their jeeps over to tour. Barely got any flares, if any at all, so zero tire coverage, stinger bumpers, chassis height laws, list goes on
I know you listed this awhile ago. Get video by the way. I’m currently waiting on my bumper and was wondering if the license plate bracket you have came with it?
The bar looks great. I love it. A lot of protection. Question...is that ARB logo a sticker that can be removed with a flat surface underneath? or is there an indentation under that?
Its an indentation.
Ahhh, so this is why I haven’t moved to Australia yet.
far to many politicians and Karens
✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
Hey Darryl, im getting the same ARB bullbar soon. Can a winch (assuming it fits correctly) be install easily after the bullbar is installed? Thanks for the great video series... (fellow Sydney TJ owner)
Hey, its going to depend on the winch although it is installed from the top down. As you've seen my Warn Winch needed a fair bit of trimming of the new bar to get it to fit. Worse case with the install is you remove the bar, think its only 3 bolts per side from memory, really isn't an issue.
Darryl are those laws Australia wide? I have not seen them in WA?
Will be state by state. Check locally
I meant to ask, did you notice how much stiffer the chassis feels? Around corners it feels like it handles better. The suspension even feels like it works more rather than chassis flex
The Metalcloak version tied the front together nicely so not a lot of difference.
@@DarrylSheather didn’t consider that. My bad. I was previously running a Poison Spyder stinger. There was a lot of difference for me.
Australians are so much safer now. Thanks nanny state! 🤬
Yep, couldn't agree more
How much does it the ARB bumper weigh?
40kg/90lb
Nothing infuriates me more than these nanny state laws.
Me too!
