If you normally visit Mallorca during the summer months, let me know if you're inspired to visit the island over the winter! Also let me know if I've missed anything out from this video and I'll make a part 2! Also don't forget to come and join my Facebook Group here: facebook.com/groups/mallorcaunderthesun
Fantastic. I can’t stress enough how amazing that part of the world is over winter. We’ve stayed in the El Cid, Fontenellas Playa, Roc Leo, Aluasoul in Can Pastilla over winter which are all excellent hotels and we’ve stayed in Acapulco Playa at the Playa De Palma end of the bay which is also excellent. We love the weather over winter in Mallorca. Still bright and warm, not boiling but compared to Manchester it’s tropical. The promenade runs from El Arenal all the way into Palma city centre and we love strolling the 6 miles stopping off at the cafes on the way. From your base in Can Pastilla you are quickly into Palma and then we love days out to Soller, Valldemossa, Fornalutx, Palma and due to having family on the island we’ve seen lots of other amazing villages/places Andratx, Esporles and Capdepera to name a few. The island is quieter but more than enough bars, cafes, shops etc are still open and the public transport services are still in operation. It’s my favourite time to visit winter. I enjoy running and that part of the world is amazing for running and cycling. Es Carnatge is my favourite park on the planet which takes in the airport and the promenade walk is a walk right along the coast into Palma. Portixol and Molinar are places that you walk through via the promenade walk on your way to Palma and again these little stop offs have amazing cafes, bars etc. Can’t wait to have my winter breaks back soon 👍🏻👍🏻 Love these videos

Winter in many ways does have its advantages. Always nice to be one of the only people on the beach too. Never happens in Summer ! Thanks for watching Patricia 🤗
Definitely worthwhile. We actually had some sun today and I had lunch on my terrace today. Had a bit of a rollercoaster with the weather the past couple weeks, but definitely worth making a trip, espeically to see the lights!
Hi Alex!....fabulous video. I did not know about the Mercat Olivar, I will definately visit it on my next holiday. Thanks again for a great video full of sun and sea....cheers!
I hope you had a fantastic time out here. It’s such a shame they don’t do winter flights from Newcastle any more - it’s definitely warmer out here than it is where you are! Hopefully the airlines will change that soon! Thanks for watching and your support !
Hi Alex , yes it’s a shame about winter flights as malloca has so much to offer in the winter . So sad I can not get back for 4 months ✈️🇪🇸🙏 would love to see flight start up again ❤️
@@fatboyslim3550 100% - the beauty of Newcastle airport is the Metro connections. Made Mallorca so much easier to get to. One day hopefully, service will be restored 🤞
A wonderful sharing that made me travel far from the grayness of this day, a very big thank you for your work and your videos that I like a lot. Your friend ICAR. 👌
believe me, out here in Cala d'Or you'd be happy to see some people around, life is not easy in winter times out here., quite lonely for a lot of people, off course there is always something to do, but tbh it is not a fairytale living here all year round.. take care Alex.
100% agree with you. I have a friend who moved from Palmanova over to Cala D'Or one autumn years ago. They returned in about 3 months later and couldn't cope with the isolation. I really think more needs to be done to keep this area of the island alive and bustling over the winter months. It's such a waste of a great place. x
The sunsets (and sunrises when I make it up in time) are literally my favourite thing ever. Never get over how amazing they are . Hope you’re doing good Andy 🤗
Fab video 😊 Thank you! I see I have lots more to explore in Palma and the Christmas lights look amazing!! I will definitely visit one winter to see them in all their glory. The walking routes all sound great too. Thank you for linking the hiking videos. I look forward to watching them.
I enjoyed watching that video, currently staying in Palma at the moment. This is my twelfth visit to the island (normally stay in Cala D’or in the summer) but my first autumn/winter trip. Bellver castle is high up on my to do list before I return home ! Temperature and weather have generally been better than I expected. 🌴🌞
Hello! It's a shame about the rain - but you there will be breaks in the weather. Still a great opportunity to jump on the TIB busses and explore the island!
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun Had intended to go to the castle today but the weather has foiled my plans ! Had a ride to Port d'Alcudia yesterday on the TIB. Shame about the rain as Sunday & Monday were really nice !
I arrived on the 1st and intended to stay for a month. I’m home already. I was frozen 🥶. The island was dead and most places shut down. Someone told me people go back to mainland for the winter. Beautiful Island and looking forward to returning one day in the summer time.
This is a cool insightful and very detailed video regarding Mallorca - appreciate the great effort here. Having been to Spain 3 times (mainly to Barcelona, Madrid, Costa Del Sol (Malaga and Torremolinos), Seville, Granada, Cordoba, Ronda, Tenerife and Marbella) but never been to Mallorca so kind of temperatures do they get in December and January? - I guess we will need woollens for nights. Might think about doing this next December if everything calms down flying from either Birmingham or East Midlands Airport. You are doing a great job.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! I really appreciate it ! The weather can be really hit and miss during Dec/Jan. But today it looks like we will be basking in glorious sunshine and enjoying 17 degrees. It is much warmer if out of the breeze, and it's perfect hiking weather. Every day I see people swimming but it's a little too chilly for me! The evening are very cold though.. down to 8 or 9. Great time of year to visit though with the Christmas lights!
Great video thanks Alex. We walked from the hotel Saratoga up to Bellver Castle when there 2 weeks ago. Knackered but worth it (taxi back 🤣) Definitely need to get to see those Christmas lights. We’re thinking of Christmas 2022 stopping in London for our usual trip to London 🎄🎅😎
Do you think that most expats prefer to be in Alicante or Valencia living wise year round ? As could always have a week or more or a weekend in Mallorca, other islands?
Hi. We are Australian couple, retired……will be visiting Europe for 3 months in 2022 and would like to spend up to a month in Mallorca for up to a month next May/June, any suggestions on what area we should stay and accommodations for that time frame….TIA
All of Mallorca is lovely, but if you're coming for a month, then maybe you can split your stay into 2x two week blocks. Or 3x 10 day blocks. And stay in different parts of the island. Head on over to the Facebook group and you should get lots of recommendations. You are arriving at a great time of year to enjoy the best of sightseeing so it's not so hot but also some lovely days on the beach. facebook.com/groups/mallorcaunderthesun
Hi, moving to Mallorca in Spring. What are the mandates like regarding vaccines for adults and rules for children and school? Any help this greatly appreciated Thanks
Hi Adrian - there is no enforced vaccinations here for anyone (at the moment) - not sure if this will change in the future though. I'm hoping to get some more useful content on my channel soon to help you with moving over. Stay tuned :)

5 days ago I was in arinal it's a beautiful place I recommend arinal as the best spot in palma.
Hi nice and informative videos you post. I wonder if it is easy to find organic grown veggetables, fruits and nuts there ? Thank You
You can also go bowling and do pitch and put in Som Vida
Thanks Graham, I didn't think of that!

You must come over Joanna! Even rainy days don't stop me from going to look at the ocean!

Hi ! I honestly have no opinion about either place because I've never been there! So I would always say Mallorca offers the best year round living!
I discovered your channel recently. Is there any work for non-Spanish speakers during the winter please!
Honestly very little - but jobs exist with real estate agents or companies such as Hotelbeds
Very kind of you to reply - much appreciate the info. Thank you.@@MallorcaUnderTheSun
Amazing video Alex. Thanks a lot. Do you know any organised hikes with a guide around Palma? We are planning to visit in February
Hi Otar - I don’t … yet … but come and ask on my Facebook group and I’m pretty sure you’ll get some suggestions from group members !
Where can i find some surf school nearby Palma? :)
Try Bonana in Can Pastilla!
