I can truly say that Alexander O'Neal would be one of the first of Soul/R&B Artists that opened up my ears to a wider range of the genres. His 2nd Albun Hearsay I remember owning on cassette and would play this along with maybe 2 or 3 other cassettes back in 1987. Miss the Days of old growing up I. The San Francisco East Bay Area in the 80's and early 90's.

I bought the "Hearsay" CD in '87, and I remember listening to the whole thing. When I got to "Sunshine," it stopped me in my tracks. I would put the song on repeat daily for the first week. It has a richness beyond belief. The killer writers Jam & Lewis did it again!!

Dam I don't know if I like the song as much as seeing you vibe to it and tear up .. your beautiful lil lady and you clearly have a soul. I love the riffs Mr. Alex does towards the end .. makes me start the song over again.
I can tell a Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewissong now. From Janet Jackson, Force MD's, Human League. amd New Edition, they have that instrumental sound that is soothing and can be played in the rain to mellow out. Like floating above the clouds. I can't put my finger on the instrument...like running your fingers across a harp or windchimes. It sounds dreamy and echo like.
