- In this video Big Tractor Power spends time out in the field with a 405 hp CHALLENGER MT740 Tractor on grain cart duty during the corn harvest. This tracked tractor is keeping up with two CLAAS Lexion 750 TT Combines equipped with 12 row corn heads running at 6.5 mph. In order to keep the combines rolling non stop through the corn harvest the CHALLENGER MT740 Tractor is operating an 1,100 bu. Unverferth 1115 X-Treme grain cart to move the corn away from the combines and to waiting semi trucks.

That tractor looks brand new. Thanks for sharing!
It is amazing to see how much love and care you put into your farm
That Lexion is hauling ass! I am very enthusiastic about Claas' future machines.
They can sure can eat up a bunch of acres.
Got to love A/c cabin with all the dusty condition. That's how to keep the harvest going.
Those Claus Lexion combines are eating corn like crazy !
Claas makes a solid combine. They can really eat the acres and turn out a very nice grain sample.
They’re the best that you can get on the market hands down.
Love 🌽 harvest videos, that combine is really moving
😁👍👍
Great video! Love the harvesting season! Thanks for sharing! Have a great and awesome day!
Thank you for watching.
Thank you Jason for these awesome harvesting videos. Been watching for about 9 years. You never disappoint BTP!! Looking forward to more.
Thank you for watching. Appreciate the long time viewership.
Quite a show seeing that combine moving through the field and the grain cart keeping the harvest going . It seems like planting was taking place and here it's harvest time.😎
The year has flown by. Thank you for watching.
Man that combine is blasting through that corn.
Lexions are corn eating machines. They do a good a job.
This is pretty cool because I’m currently watching this video in a Claas Lexion 760tt combine. It’s one of our three and we are currently harvesting 100bu/ac wheat. And btw great video as always BTP.
Very cool. Thank you for watching. Where are you harvesting?
bigtractorpower I’m from Southern Manitoba, Canada. Just 20 to 30 minutes south of Winnipeg.
A little piece of Italy whit Olimac Drago GT corn head !!!....
they is lettin it roll way I like it..... pedal to tha metal
Pedal to the Metal 👍👍. I need to remember that for a future title.
Those combines are beast, moving at 5 to 6 miles per hour in 250 bushel corn.😎
The are rolling right through the corn.
Thanks for the video BTP!
Thank you for watching.
watching from Panamá
Very cool. Thank you.
Gotta love corn harvest can’t wait till we start here in Illinois nice video Jason
It’s a great time of year. How far out is your harvest?
bigtractorpower I live along the Mississippi River in Illinois, and am about 20 minutes from Hannibal Missouri. My grandfather said the corn will be ready for harvest around the first week in October.
About 2-3 weeks
The challenger is a good looking tractor👍😁 the combines really eat the corn👍😉
Awesome footage👍
Awesome vid of the harvest👍loving Challenger track tractor chasing combines, I wish I could have one for harvest👍
It is a smooth easy running tractor for grain carting.
Being a combine operator is so much better than being a grain cart operator
Depends on how you look at it. It can get a little boring in the combine sometimes lol, to where as you're always zipping all over the place when running grain cart.
combines go nowhere without a good cart
operator. they are worth their weight in gold.
Drago is a very very good header company form italy. And trust me italians now how to deal with maize and corn
😁👍👍
Looks like caterpillar is taking over john deere, amazing machines
They are nice tractors.
Claas and AGCO, Cat hasn't been involved with the Ag market, outside of engines and transmissions, for years
The duals on the cart pull so much easier than the floater tires!!
Awesome video, can't wait till they start combining the corn here
When does corn start in your area?
@@bigtractorpower I'm in manitoba, we harvest in late October to November. Sometimes we combine in snow
That is an unusual grain cart. I haven't seen that style of tire set up before.
It has a walking tandem axle. It works well in uneven terrain.
Damn, these guys are hauling ass! Ive never seen a class 9 Deere or Case at 6,5 mph... and these are claas 8's?!
They really eat up the acres. Claas uses an APS Hybrid Threshing system with two rotors. CLAAS offers this outstanding high-performance patented system with a pre-accelerator in the threshing unit.
The pre-accelerator separates the crop more thoroughly, making crop flow up to 33% faster. Higher centrifugal forces sort considerably more grains − up to 30% of all grains are already sorted in the pre-separation concave directly below the accelerator.
This delivers a net performance increase of up to 20% with no increase in fuel consumption.
If your interested in lots of detail on the Lexion I have a 38 minute walk around video of a Claas that features the threshing system at ua-cam.com/video/eOb4ZRR9UhE/v-deo.html
@@bigtractorpower thanks, I'll have to see that video too ;)
It really is an awesome threshing system :)
If it’s anything like our Claas the other will catch up when we are waiting on part
Wow Jason great vid challenger has really stepped it up and has some nice looking tractors and don’t know how long it is until corn harvest here in Arkansas
The CVT transmission makes this a very handy tractor for grain cart use.
bigtractorpower yes it does keep up the amazing work during trying times
We need the new MT700 series tractors to come out in 1/64 scale
That would great.
Good video!! Hello from Michigan 😉👍👍✌✌
Thank you for watching.
I still use a CATERPILLAR challenger 65
Very cool. I like the original 65 tractors.
Great Vlog, I love the cat challenger Yellow
Thank you for watching. Challenger tractors are impressive to see at work.
6.5mph picking is fast! Awesome machines! That cvt transmission comes in handy when unloading the grain cart on the truck I know! Did you get a chance to ask them what it was yielding!?
The field was yield 230 bu.
@@bigtractorpower whoa buddy!! Was that the average yield or was that what it peaked going thru the field!?
That’s a really awesome pair but I think I found interesting about it was looking at the green card and the wheels are slightly offset kind of interesting because I don’t remember ever seeing any other green card like that
The wheels are on a walking tandem axle that helps follow the terrain of the field.
MT 865
Awesome video sir!
Thank you for for watching.
Chenilles tout terrain
Combine is dawdling, can't he go any faster!!..............lol.......
The Lexion combines sure can get up and move.
How fast are they going? It looks really fast.
In the video he says 5 to 6.5 mph.
fisher h ok. Couldn’t watch with volume.
Love the video
Thank you for watching.
👍👍
😁👍
Surprised they didnt have grain cart on tracks
I have wondered about that too.
@@bigtractorpower or at least have them Low Side Wall tires or Float tires
Jason, it seems most of the Claas Lexion combines you video cut corn at a very rapid pace; much faster than the John Deere or Case IH combines. What do you attribute that higher corn cutting speed?
Keep up the great videos!!
The fact that the Lexion has more threshing capacity than Deere or Case, a 570R (Class 7 machine) has more threshing capacity than a Class 8 or 9 Deere, or a Case. So it really shows how silly the current class system used to classify combines is.

Hello!
Hi
7 Cylinder? Strange... Never heard of that.
The 7 cylinder is an AGCO engine. AGCO uses the engines in their combines too. I did a walk around of AGCO combines with a representative from AGCO and talks about the advantage of the 7 cylinder engine in this video ua-cam.com/video/wlWdrRXqn1s/v-deo.html
Hi Jason, like always very nice video.
The operational speed of this combines is pretty impressive. I never seen a combine, as fast as this.
But do you know, why the lexion 8900 isn't available for the US market?
The 8900 is similar to the 8800 other than horse power. The 8900’s extra power is to harvest 150 bu. wheat in Europe. Wheat harvest in Europe tends to remain damp. The 8900’s extra power helps harvest the tough crop. The extra horse power is not needed for North American crops. The 8800 has plenty of power to harvest here.
@@bigtractorpower hi Jason, thanks for this answer. This makes sense. But I guess the 8800 has a Mercedes engine instead of MAN and a smaller grain tank. According to the claas website, except if the 8800 for north America is different to the European ones. This I don't know.
Anyway thank and keep on filming such great videos ☺️
@@siegfriedacker7682 Not only the engine differs between EU and US machines. All US wide body machines have the bigger grain tank, and all of them can be opted with the big 18000l tank. Now with the new 8x00 and 7x00 you can distinguish wide and narrow body based on the first digit, same in both EU and US. The old 760 was for example wide body in US and narrow body in EU, I guess that is why you see so many 760 in the US but not in the EU.
Have you videos from the new Lexion 8900 ?
Wow, that’s a strange looking grain cart withe tyre setup
It is a walking tandem axle that helps follow the terrain of the field.
Much easier to pull vs floater tires!!
I don’t like this high speed harvesting, why are they rushing??I would really like to see the amount of kernels under the stalks....
✌️✌️✌️
Thank you.
What drone do you use Jason, I’m wondering because I’m looking into getting one and am wondering what’s the best around farm equipment?
I do not use a drone. I have several friends that drone for me while I film the ground and cab footage. Several of them use the Mavick and others use the DJI Phantom. They speak highly of both.
👍🚜🚜🚜🚜
Thank you for watching.
The wheels on that grain cart have a weird design.
They are a walking tandem axle.
Requires less hp to pull a cart when the wheels are offset.
The cart pulls so much easier that the floater tires!!
What kind of chemical was used to kill the corn plants? Is it the same chemical you use to kill potato? Is it round-up?
They do not defoliant the corn. It is a 90 day crop. Once it has matured it starts to dry down naturally. This corn is planted in mid March. The summer heat in mid August dries the plants down fairly fast where harvest can begin by the end of August.
