@@Ryan-ve5hb Hey Guys nothing worked for me too but i found a way. I cleaned the disc physically, did defragmentation but still it gave me the error. Then I deleted the game from main menu, took cd out, reinstalled the game back, updated it, launch the game and voila it worked.
Used the 2nd option, rebuilding the database, and it worked, thank you so much. During this pandemic for my son to be without his PS4 would've been unbearable... Thank you for sharing this.
theres a screw that holds the optical drive (hard drive onto the ps4 plastic body)if that screw is lose or not tighen all the way,You will get that code as well.Theres a total of 4 screws that hold the disc reader onto the ps4,if any are lose etc.You will get that code.
It’s weird cause i get this error code when I try to use my new external hard drive. When I try to format it, this error code pops up. My disk drive works completely fine.

I have had exact same I've had my playstation in repair and they said it's perfectly fine they said I had merged files causing corrupt data its bo4 red dead 2 and the system update 7.02 are faulty until the next system update
@@joelewis6090 it will just try look through all your add ons games upload all your data then delete all system data and the suspected game you think is corrupted (mine was BO4) just delete the whole app or if that's the only game/app you play delete any others LAN cable always connected to stop safe mode start ups and keep yours ps clean until system update 7.03 I know your feeling but mine is okay now since I deleted BO4 no more spreading of corrupt data just have to hold out till the system update
Cheggleberry i have been through all of my my saved data and it’s says nothing about the corrupted data but I have quite a lot of games on my console and every one of them reads disc and plays properly but (red dead) sometimes says that the disc is possibly damaged or dirty which it’s not but the majority of the time it is saying about red dead been corrupted and I did think about deleting the whole game because I’m not bothered about the story mode I just don’t want to lose my online data for (red dead redemption) because I’ve put a lot of time into it thank you for helping I’m just new to all this corrupted data stuff because I just want it fixed but don’t want to lose my online data lol
@@joelewis6090 trust me you can delete and reload I also play red dead 2 also and I can confirm a save is not needed so long you have a Social club account with R* I deleted my story too which I'm not bothered about but I promise you it wont delete your online save if you have SC bro 🙂

I'm having the same issue atm. The disk is probably damaged or needs a really good wipe with tissue or something. If your ps4 is playing other disks or DVDs and download other games that you insert into your ps4 it sounds like the disk is not working.

MUST READ!!! I worked out what you have to do. Install the game WITHOUT an internet connection. It’s the updates that disrupt the initial installation. So disconnect from the internet in Settings>Network. delete any previous game same game data and the application. Put the disc back in. Install and then you can do the updates when it’s fully installed.

Inserting the disc and not running the game right after (Taking some time in other tasks and then coming back to run the disc game). But, whenever I put the disc and run it as soon as the disc is read, every game runs fine. What sorcery is this?

My PS reads every other game perfectly but when I go to put my last of us 2 data disc in it copies the data to 95% and then freezes and gives me the error can't open application and I have tried and tried so many times rebuilding the database cleaning the disc, the disc doesn't have any major scratches.

Yeah that happened to me i just uninstalled and reinstalled and it worked but it might be different so do it at your own risk

My PS reads every other game perfectly but when I go to put my last of us 2 data disc in it copies the data to 95% and then freezes and gives me the error can't open application and I have tried and tried so many times rebuilding the database cleaning the disc, the disc doesn't have any major scratches.
Same for me on ps4 with last of us 2! it copies till like 20/27gb but giving the error ce-30005-8 error did u find a fix?

@@idunno...2179 i found a fix, well not a fix exactly: so my disk also didn't had any scratches but it was giving me error after downloading 21 gb
i tried database fix etc. None of them worked, so i bought an another last of us 2 copy aand worked, i do not know what is the issue with the disks but it is a faulty disk, sadly there is no fix besides replacing it

Oh hail naw bro. I keep getting this error. First with rdr2 so I bought a second disc of rdr2 and now hitman 3? Oh come on sony you gotta do better than that. It's almost as if they made up all of these errors so that we should purchase the ps5. Sony is going to shit

Thanks unfortunately it's a bandaid for mine cause it got struck by lightning and it does this like two days after I rebuild database but also for some reason also updating your licenses for your games also helps this error

Did everything, cleaned the disc, the disc has no scratches, rebuilt database and still the game is stuck on copying application.
I have the same problem it first started with red dead redemption 2 and I thought it was the disc's fault but then it started and with Days Gone and then with Death Stranding! And I'm starting to think that it might be the ps4's fault but then i tried installing Horizon zero dawn and it worked perfectly so I'm thinking that might the disc's are fucked. I Don't even know anymore. At least You fixed your problem?
@@RovixGR Yeah i fixed my problem. There was a problem with the disc i sent it back to the shop and got a new replacement which worked.

Please I need a solid answer. I get this same error, but its with call of duty cold war. I start up the application, then it says that i need to uninstall it and download it again. I have tried everything from rebuilding twice, checking my hard drive and uninstalling it and installing it again. I have run out of ideas that work and I don't know what to do. I have a ps4 pro and I’m having this problem with just one game (madden 20) and I’ve tried using a micro fiber cloth and rubbing alcohol and its still doesn’t work, i tried looking for the save data and i cant even find it i also tried using the safe mode method and nothing is working idk what to do

I did this and have just managed to copy the RDR2's data disc to the freshly resetted PS4. Lets hope I'd be able to play it later today.

I did it and as soon as I went into safe mode and clicked rebuild data base I clicked confirm and this popped up: SU-41333-4.
I tried other ways and my ps4 just freezes and is on the PLEASE WAIT screen. I am confused.

It’s red Dead redemption 2 for me when I try to load the online I get to play for a good 5-10 minutes then my game crashes and says I have to delete the app and reinstall I did that and it still does the same thing. UPDATE I am buying a PC
