I'm glad you had a chance to visit our fair city. You are always welcome here. I hope you got to go visit Greenmount Cemetery while you were here. A beautiful place full of history and historical people.
Very interesting! I have always been fascinated with Poe. I didn't realize he died at only 40 yrs old. I thought he died penniless but he had a great headstone. Great job as always Scott!
Wow, Scott, I didn’t know you were here. It’s crazy that I’ve lived here my whole life and have never visited here, although I’ve passed it a million times.
Very interesting story about Edgar Allen Poe Scotty. Didn’t know anything about him except that I heard about the poem The Raven. The video created by you is done so well. The music you chose, the black and white sequences are great. Gets kind of eerie and I get ready to jump in case there is a surprise somewhere. Always happy to learn something, especially of people long ago. May Edgar Allen Poe and family’s souls Rest In Peace. Take care Scotty. Love from all of us❤️✌🏼🤗💕
I seen a man he was a thespian. Which means he worked in theater. And he was portraying Edgar Allan Poe. And he was great. And I did not have to go to New York to see him. He came to a town near me in my state. And he won a Tony Award. Which you can only win if you work in theater. And he worked on Broadway to. It was a wonderful Play. I loved it.
Suddenly there came a tapping as of someone gently rapping rapping at my chamber door The Raven is a great poem and this is Great Great video by Scott I loved it 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
But our love, it was stronger by far than the love of those who were older than we Of many far wiser than we And neither the angels in Heaven above Nor the demons down under the sea Can ever dissever my soul from the soul Of the beautiful Annabel Lee For mama Scottontape ❤️
Hi hun, I'm originally from north london, a place called Stoke Newington. There's a school called Manor House in the same area ten minutes from my mothers house and apparently Edgar went there as a child during a brief stay in England. I've read most of his work plus biography and he could have attended school in my area? .... this makes my life all the richer 😊🌹♥️
I was came across this video I was born in Baltimore I'll have to call tomorrow to come to Virginia but what I wanted to say is that I visit that house and the graveyard on a school trip. I remember the house being small and narrow. And yes the Baltimore Ravens are my team. And really enjoying your videos every chance I get. I am new to your site and I just wanted to let you know that I enjoy them .

Literary genious. I don't know anybody that didn't have to read the Raven in English Lit. Class. The two words I always think of when I hear his name is Never More!
I love EAP I have a couple of his poetry books that I inherited from my Dad He loved to randomly quote the Raven 💙 Have you ever heard of the Poe museum in Richmond It’s awesome too Complete with a couple of pet black cats roaming the grounds 💜💜💜
Poe Cottage is part of the Bronx Historical Society. His wife had breathing issues. They went to the Bronx on weekends to get away from the NYC air pollution. ♥️
“This city is so nice.” Oh honey… no it’s not lol it’s filthy. But i recommend visiting Babe Ruth’s childhood home and museum… Camden Yards is beautiful…

Scott...omg.. "cooped to death!" I can't stop laughing. I know his death wasn't funny, it was the way you said it. Thanks for the laugh. Great video though.
I'm shocked you knew about the Original grave in the back , not alot of people know about that. Also I could've taken you to the Hospital where he died and the last bar he was at before he died and also the spot where he was found on the street when he was taken to the Hospital. Call me next time you are in town. Oh by the way Baltimore is not a nice city, stay away it's very dangerous. Great video keep doing what you do and be safe out there.
Having lived in Maryland, for 40 years, I can tell you, Baltimore is a horrible city. It is extremely dangerous and the only way to go to the Edgar Allan Poe house is with a tour guide and group of people. It is extremely unsafe to go alone. I took my cousin and his three friends to the house without a tour guide and there were people sitting on the stoop smoking crack. Needless to say we did not get out of the car. Even the map that you get at the inner harbor tells you that it is in a transitioning neighborhood. Meaning ghetto. The church where he is buried is very old and lovely. Be sure to drop him a penny.
Back in those days marrying you cousins/ family members was normal. Interesting fact sir John Alexander’s Canada’s first prime minsters first wife was also his first cousin
So how do you know they really moved him and his family, maybe they just made people think that they did. Food for thought. My grandpa was a grave digger. There's a lot of things that was done to fool the public. Anyway this was a very interesting video. Stay safe!
Oh thats cool Buzzfeed Unsolved did a Video about his murder a few weeks ago btw I recommend to everyone to check their Videos out they make really good Videos about true Crime
Hello #scottontape. How are you? Just want to say that I enjoy watching you’re videos on you’re channel and that you’re very handsome 🥰 Would love to meet up with you sometime 😘 Maybe over a cup of coffee..hint*..hint*..lol ☕️ You seem like a real gentleman which is wonderful 😉☺️ Also, when you visit gravesites, when you remember to bring a stone, have you ever thought about writing you’re name on you’re stone and or a little message attached to it when you leave it out of respect to the dearly departed? I’m asking because I notice that there are others that leave stones as well when I watch you’re videos. I see them sometimes. Some write on them and if they were to see yours, they would know that you came to pay a visit. Just a thought. Keep up the good work. Love the respect that you have for the those that have passed on and for their families and I hope to see more great videos in the future especially more about The Beautiful Queen Of Tejano-Selena 👄💋💜🎤🎶🎵 I saw you did a few but I would like to see an updated video if you ever happen to make one. Thx. in advanced 👌🏽
Really enjoyed this video, but OMG that place gave me the heebie jeebies .. so creepy ... I'm curious as to why he was moved from his original grave to a new one and a pavement laid on top of it 😶 ? ~Karin~
Scott, I don't do social media anymore man. Got tired of people complaining to me like I could solve their petty battles with each other. email me man because you don't have an email associated with your channel. email me and ill just give you my number. I want to talk to you about something.
It used to happen here in RVA at the museum. Cognac and roses. People used to wait up and try to catch a glimpse. Never heard of anyone actually seeing the person. I’m guessing that person passed. There is also a Poe’s Pub here.
I'm a very big Poe fan. Loved the video! Always enjoy your content Scott!
If you can visit the home he lived in when he lived in Pennsylvania

Definitely a treasure, although a sad one. RIP E. Poe.
I cannot love this enough I LOVE edgar
The Fall of the House of Usher and Annabelle Lee are my absolute favourites. Such beautiful and tragic writings 😍
Another great video Scott👌 was a fantastic watch 👍
Hay Scott, freakin' Awesome brother. I studied Poe in 10th grade. These videos interest me. Appreciate it! The Raven was my favorite.
Really Enjoyed This Scott. His stories still Spook me. 😎✌️ #Peace

Love love love this
Thank you Scott so so much!! Edgar Allan Poe is my favorite writer...:)
Virginia Clemm was the inspiration for the poem 'Annabelle Lee.'
I wonder if that’s why the River Boat with the same in RVA named the Annabelle Lee. I can’t find much online.
But our love, it was stronger by far than the love of those who were older than we

She didn't just have breathing issues, she had Tuberculosis, and died at age 24. Edgar loved her dearly as well.
So cool! Definitely a place on my bucket list!

The "last bar that Poe was at before he died" is pure hype! Poe had no connection to that bar. Pure baloney.
Poe poe

Scott this is a fantastic graveyard. Did you happen to catch who else sleeps there?
From what I could tell mostly clergy, city founders etc. I wish i had had more time to walk around it and check out other graves.
Ok sir, you made me jump with that noice when closing in on Edgar's statued face. LOL Great stuff overall.
Back in those days marrying you cousins/ family members was normal. Interesting fact sir John Alexander’s Canada’s first prime minsters first wife was also his first cousin
Indeed. If you believe the story of Adam and Eve, their children made children with each other.
awesome writer but kinda dark. love your visual
That was cool, .Thank you Scott.
Have you seen the movie The Raven?
I visited the grave sites and Poe house about four years ago but the house wasn't open for public at the time when we went so I never got to go inside
Very interesting 😉
So how do you know they really moved him and his family, maybe they just made people think that they did. Food for thought. My grandpa was a grave digger. There's a lot of things that was done to fool the public. Anyway this was a very interesting video. Stay safe!
As it's described, they wanted to move everyone together in the memorial. The coffins were tattered, basically extremely decayed.
I had to sign in with a different google account on UA-cam so I had to relike you’re channel. Lol
Actually, I've read that she was even younger than 10 years, when he came to the house (at 23 years). She was only about 7 years old at the time.
Oh my
Sold a vintage book by him for really cheap...
Welcome to Baltimore Hon

Me: Ryan Reynolds?🤔
Married his 13 your old cousin? Sick.
Yep way too young
Gives new light to the old South Park term "Uncle F*cker." Sorry.
