David Russell Williams (born March 7, 1963) is a British-born Canadian convicted murderer and former colonel in the Canadian Forces. From July 2009 until his arrest in February 2010, Williams commanded CFB Trenton, Canada's largest military airbase and a hub for the country's foreign and domestic air transport operations. He was also a decorated military pilot who had flown Canadian Forces VIP aircraft for dignitaries such as Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, and the Governor General and the Prime Minister of Canada.
On February 8, 2010, Williams was relieved as the base commander at CFB Trenton due to criminal charges. An investigation and subsequent confession showed he had broken into 82 women's houses to steal underwear (including little girls'), later escalating to sexual assault and two counts of rape and murder. He was formally charged by the Ontario Provincial Police, pursuant to the Criminal Code, with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of forcible confinement, two counts of breaking and entering, and sexual assault. Another 82 charges relating to breaking and entering were later added. On October 21, 2010, Williams was sentenced to two life sentences for first-degree murder, two 10-year sentences for other sexual assaults, two 10-year sentences for forcible confinement, and 82 one-year sentences for breaking and entering, all to be served concurrently. The life sentences mean Williams will serve a minimum of 25 years before parole eligibility. Since he has been convicted of multiple murders, Williams is not eligible for early parole under the "faint hope clause" of the Criminal Code.
On October 22, 2010, Williams was stripped of his commission, ranks, and awards by the Governor General on the recommendation of the Chief of the Defence Staff. His severance pay was terminated and the salary he received following his arrest was seized, although he is still entitled to a pension. Subsequent to his conviction, his uniform and all his items of military apparel were burned.
My husband is always telling me to close the blinds. I’m like....why? No one is looking in our windows! Well....thanks to creeps like RUSSELL, we DO have to keep our blinds down. Not only that but I have every window and door alarmed. People can call me paranoid all they want. I’ll be able to sleep better knowing I’m secure.

I lived in Trenton most of my life, this was completely insane... I was in high school when this happened. We couldn't believe it, a lot of my friend's families were in the military. Had this guy over for dinner, help them with homework etc just frightening

@@eddyeroyal6024 I don’t think it ever recovered. I ended up moving away after high school & I’ve never been back. I’ve heard a lot of good things about it but I doubt the stigma of those events will ever go away.
I'm from Trenton too it was scary l would go to the library in belleville the court house were he was across the street 😳 he should not be living or have that right to live its so sad what happened and there family's and his wife knew nothing about what he was doing thats crazy to me
One of my uncle ( pass away ) was a rank under Williams , worked with him and made all those travels in the same airplane who flew Queen Elizabeth , Jean Chrétien and many others. When he was still alive , he never wanted to talk about this sad story. He only said that he was a disgrace to the Canadian Air Force

Scott is absolutely right about this creep being a serial killer. If he wasn't caught the victim numbers would have continued to climb. He wasn't going to stop.
You’re right as he was only in his early 40’s and just in the last few weeks he escalated to murdering.
You do these so well: BTK, Dahmer, Bernardo etc. This story disturbed me when I first learnt about it years ago so thanks for doing it. And Detective Jim Smyth's interrogation technique should be used to train detectives across the world.

This particular suspect made his job easier . He knew his number was up and he didnt bother lawyering up etc.

Hard to fathom that he commanded an entire Air Force base and oversaw its community while leading this double life. No doubt, had he not been caught, he would have continued on with his murder spree and perhaps proved difficult to catch. What a pathetic disgrace to the Canadian uniform! My heart goes out to the families of Jessica Lloyd and Marie-France Comeau (Rest in Peace). God Bless them. Thank you for sharing this Scott.

I have lived in the Quinte area my whole life and remember this case when it happened.
I believe that the neighboours who bought the house on Cozy Cove recently had it torn down.
Im in the area often so will take a look and post it.

I think about his ex-wife and know that this is something she will always carry with her. What a sick, poor excuse of a supposed human being he is. Good job, Scott. I agree with you exactly about how he's spending his days in the ever shrinking cell.

What a pervert! I remember this story but did not remember this ahole's name. It always amazes me that these criminals think that they can get away with anything. I grew up in trenton Ontario where this happened .... i wish someone would do a video about an unsolved rape and murder that also happened the police have offered 75,000.00 reward for information so maybe a video would help bring something to light

Another thorough, respectful presentation of a horrible, senseless crime that I was familiar with but with reverence for the loss of these two beautiful women.
Well done. This is a good overview, and a nice niche video, showing the actual locations in broad daylight.
One small quibble: He invaded 48 homes, and the total number of break-ins was 82. One of the homes he invaded 9 times. And there were other multiples. The first one he did, was his next-door neighbor's home, which housed the 12-year-old girl he was infatuated with (some of those pictures with him wearing underwear, was her underwear). He then went on to invade that home 3 more times. Those neighbors were friends of the Williams's. They visited each other's homes regularly. The girl taught Russell cribbage, and watched his cat while he was away. Russell made sure to bring them on his boat, so he could see her in her bikini.

Whoa ‼️ this is very sad. I remember hearing about this guy some time ago. He WAS A Monster ‼️ in my heart of hearts l really feel like he should have gotten the death penalty. He gave THESE beautiful woman the death penalty. It's nice to see time taken to honor Marie-France and Jessica. Thank you. Russell's wife visited her incarcerated husband at least once. She was able to obtain the Ottawa house through some kind of deal in the divorce. At least 1 of the victims who was attacked has successfully sued Russell Williams and his ex-wife and won a settlement.

I live in Belleville. Jessica is a couple years younger, we went to the same high school. I was in a class with her brother. It was an awful time in our community.

The ‘hiding and jumping out and scaring friends’ thing is also something Ted Bundy did. I think they honestly just loved seeing women being terrified. What he did to these women is seriously out of a horror movie

We live near the base in Trenton & my husband’s co-worker lived right beside him in Tweed. He actually bought the Williams house & renovated it. His house was one of the 1st broken into & it was my husband’s co worker’s daughter’s underwear that was first taken. Jessica Lloyd’s body was in William’s freezer the whole weekend & they didn’t know. We drive by the house Jessica was kidnapped from often & have a friend who worked directly with Jessica’s brother. It’s all so sad 😢

I'm hoping that Netflix or Hulu or some big streaming company makes a series about this case. It's important that this story gets to as many people as possible. To have this kind of authority and in command of thousands of military positions. Hiding in plain sight must be told. I wouldn't have known if not for UA-cam. I stumbled upon the first video and couldn't stop watching. So many women live alone by choice and should be aware of the danger. This story is too detailed for just a movie. It demands a series. My prayers to all who were touched by this sick man.

@@SCOTTONTAPE do you believe that his wife didnt "know" also his story was that there were "only" 2 murders and that his fetishes lead to the multiple break ins and subsequent rapes and murders were of more ",recent years" I'm not sure I believe ANY of that! His wife might have been an enabler like Holomka was! Just looked the other way as long as he came home to her at night. How could he have had duffel bags stuffed with evidence e.g. underwear, bras etc at both their homes for years without her knowing they were there ? These people take the Candians public for fools
