How can that be? It sold out some moment between 12:05 and 12:06 EST. I was able to open 2 different browsers to buy 2; I then opened a 3rd browser, and that order failed when the stock ran out.
They say not to refresh your screen. Before the new site my screen would auto refresh and put me in the waiting room. This time nothing. Waited like 3 mins and still no waiting room and showed remind me. Duplicated my tab and put me in a waiting room 5 mins. Once the 5 mins was up, it showed not available. I had no plan to sell if I got one. So the flippers are the ones that benefit instead of people that actually want the coin.
The inconsistent Waiting Room feature is only for 12 ET on the Release Date. After that, we're back to the days of old, where it's a feeding frenzy at 07:30 ET. My initial Waiting Room went back to the original product page with "Unavailable", but this was minutes before noon, so I opened my 2nd account in another browser, and refreshed that page whenever it popped out of the Waiting Room before noon or lacked the "Add To Bag" button. This strategy worked, and I bought 1. Then, I went back to my 1st browser for my primary account, and refreshed the screen; I was able to buy another coin. I went for a 3rd coin on another browser, but I had to take it out of the bag when it became "Unavailable" during my ordering process. [Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Opera browsers.]
The US Mint messed up. I joined the waiting room about ten minutes to noon EST and my estimated wait time was one minute. After that time passed, my screen changed to the page with the coin, but there was no "Add to Bag" button because it was about eight minutes to noon. I thought the screen would refresh so I could buy the coin, but it did not. After about four minutes, I returned to the waiting room and when I got back to the coin page, it was not available. Did anyone else experience this?
I logged in at 15 minutes before noon. The prompt said waiting room and blah blah it'll put you order to buy. At noon I did not see add to bag, so I refreshed and product was available to add. Made purchase by 12:02. I've read others saying the waiting room thing f'd things up. When I hit refresh, I thought I messed up, but it worked. Sorry you didn't get one.
Yes, I signed in much earlier, and refreshed my screen every few minutes. At 11:51 EST, I got the Waiting Room screen, so I stopped refreshing because I didn't want to be tossed to the end of the queue to get into the Waiting Room again. After 2 minutes, nothing happened, as it was only 11:53. But at 11:55, I got the original product page with "Currently Unavailable" and "Remind Me". This worried me: What do I do? Do I refresh or just wait? I decided to open a different browser, and sign in my 2nd account (I have 2 apartments). I got to the 24YG page before 11:57, and refreshed every 15 seconds -- even if it kept tossing me at the back of the queue, my other browser is my insurance that I'm still maintaining my 1st position in the queue. So, I had 2 browsers running, and I kept toggling between them, and refreshing only my 2nd account. Then, the 2nd browser showed the Waiting Room with a 4-minute wait, so I went to the 1st browser and refreshed the screen; it showed a 7-min wait. I watched both browsers, and at 12:01, that 2nd browser allowed me to buy 1 coin, so I finished the order in 20 seconds (due to slow page updates). Once that was done, I concentrated on my 1st browser. Nothing happened, so I signed in to my Email account for my 2nd account to find the order acknowledgment message. Then, my 1st browser updated to allow me to buy 1 coin, so I did. This was 12:04, so I opened a 3rd browser, and signed in with my brother's account (which I created just for getting the 2021 Morgans and Peace). After a minute, I clicked on the "Add To Bag" and "Checkout" buttons, but the order page said the Mint couldn't complete my order. I removed the item. (That was a really bad move because I could've used that bagged coin for a future morning sale.) After I checked my other Email account for the order acknowledgment message, I relaxed a little. It was 12:06, and 24YG was sold out. So, I had only planned to get 1 coin, but in my panic and excitement, I went for 3 and got 2. I later contacted 2 friends, and 1 decided he wanted a coin, even though he previously had told to me that he wasn't interested in 24YG. My other friend is a coin dealer, so I'm sure he wants to flip it.
Another scam by the US Mint! I got in the waiting room. After 5 minutes I got in. The coin was still available so I put it in my bag. After I signed in , it was still in my bag but then when I went to checkout the Mint told me it was no longer available and I was instructed to remove it from my bag. I wrote the US Mint an email to ask them about the situation they told me that even if you get the product in your bag it is not really yours yet! You must complete the entire transaction process first. What A SCAM!
It saves you lots of time if you already had signed in beforehand, and wait on the product page. Copy your PIN code into your Paste buffer, and then position your cursor near the spot where "Add To Bag" button should come up. Then, just refresh periodically with Control-R, and when the Waiting Room screen comes up, wait patiently without refreshing. If the countdown timer expires before noon and you get the original product page without the "Add To Bag" button, then I think you should refresh -- I did that and got through faster than another browser that I had let sit there without refreshing. BTW, be sure you already had saved the info for a valid credit/debit card in the Payment Method set-up. And after signing in well before the moment of sale, Copy the PIN code by highlighting the PIN and pressing Control-C. That way, you only need to Paste it in the PIN field of the order form with Control-V. Your left hand stays on the left side of the keyboard with pinky sitting atop the Control key and index finger ready to press R or V (as appropriate), and your right hand stays on the mouse pointing to where the "Add To Bag" button should appear. There's no need to lift and move either hand to type in the PIN, and risk making a typo. That means all the other fields for the ordering process can be completed with just clicks with the mouse. I use a reference text file with all my sign-in credentials and card & PIN info on separate lines so double-clicking will select the whole line, and Control-C will Copy the field into the Paste buffer. Before the day of purchase, practice "buying" a regular coin that's always available to make sure you're proficient and efficient, but stop short of placing the order. Be sure to remove the item(s) after each practice run.
I got mine🤠👍Was in the waiting room, and it stated that you would have 10 minutes to complete your transaction. I got booted from the waiting room a few minutes before noon, but I saw the add to bag light come on, and snagged one. I already had my card on file.
Mine was canceled! So pissed! My dad's too! GD the US Mint! It was in my bag! clicked check-out and received error. Was in my cart less than 15 seconds
You need to run through the whole order process in 15 seconds to successfully get a coin. Practice ordering with a regular item, but stop short of submitting the order; be sure to empty your bag, so it doesn't interfere when it's Go! time.
@@oahuhawaii2141 great advice. ridiculous that we need to practice our purchasing efficiency though. Normally, the customer cannot add a product to their cart unless it was in stock. Once they do, a lock on that # of items is placed in inventory table, if not removing the items altogether. I am fine with even a 5 minute lock, but jesus h christ, ya know?

Talking about living vicariously while seeing the reactions and sale of the Gold Flowing Hair yesterday, is how I’m feeling listening to you this morning. 😊 I didn’t get one, however, I happy for everyone who did snag one. Good Morning- Everyone have a Great Day and remain grateful that you were fortunate to get the Silver Flowing Hair medal. Semper Fi!
Luckily I got one yesterday, went on at 7:30 today, had one in my cart for 10 seconds then gone 😂 At least the US Mint is consistent , in my opinion they should’ve never sold any at the show, that’s not fair to all the collectors around the United States, Keep Stackin Bro
Good Morning Mr. Stacker! Yesterday my message from the Mint said that... do to overwhelming response for demand our systems are backed up. Please hold. You will have 10 minutes to place your order.. Do not refresh this page. Well I held on for about two minutes and then Boom! Not Available. What? It's interesting how so many people got cut off in different ways! Great Show Again! Have a Great Day! ✌️
@@bigo2032 Have you ever heard of risk premium? It's not there for this coin. Especially since you need an outlet to sell it. And if it sits, the price could easily go down. You could easily end up losing everything or dealing with an insurance claim that may o may not get denied.
I got in at 12:03, it was on my wish list and I have a confirmation that the order was accepted and my charge card was hit. Now what to do? Sell it for 5k today and wait a year and buy it back for 4k?
Appeared to be sold out by 12:03 PM EST I logged in at 11:45 AM and waiting room appeared by 11:51. Then the waiting room disappeared and the earlier screen appeared. I thought I got booted but the "add to bag" appeared and I was met with success.
I made that mistake when the silver medal came out. But this time with the gold coin I timed it, so I went in 11:51 and then I had 2 min to buy the coin 12:01. So I got my gold coin as one of the first I think.
There was nothing exciting about this drop to me. Us members had no chance at purchasing a gold coin yesterday after waiting months for it to drop. I am clearing all my subscriptions from the Mint. They’ve marked up prices like crazy this year. There’s no joy in collecting anymore. You have to watch out for scammers and fake coins constantly. It’s not worth the headache anymore for me. I wish everyone the best. I’m definitely taking a time out.
Lot of people feeling this way-especially in regard to the Mint. I cancelled subscriptions yesterday as well. All things collectable are being counterfeited way too much now.
@@justin4evers: S&H for Budget is $5.95 (free if you're a Loyalty Member who bought enough this year). Expedited is $17.95 -- I think this didn't change since 2020, when I first got in the game, going for the V75.
The Flowing Hair Gold Coin was available and could be added to carts today at 7:30am. In less than 2 minutes, the coin was unavailable again. That leads me to believe that most of the available supply has been sold out. However, more may be available at coin shows. Or more may be sold if the US Mint decides to mint more coins. (There is about 1-1/2 months to do so).
The Mint won't make more coins if it already has reached the 17,500 mintage limit. However, I'm still wondering if the 230 with the privy mark comes out of this limit, or is considered separately. The confusion is that the privy mark isn't mentioned on the product page; the mark is mentioned in the press release, and the Flowing Hair program page.
I did not have any problem getting one yesterday. There was also a prompt saying that I have 10 minutes to complete the transaction (which I didn't need). Received email confirmation in less than 5 minutes, however, my card shows double charge from US mint. I hope it resolve on its own once payment go through.
the us mint is playing some kind of wicked game here, they said 1 per household but yesterday you were able to order 2 of them so i just placed 1 in my cart because of the high premium, they should've auctioned 100 of them privy ones and the rest for general public.
How did you get the notification? Reject in the process of buying the coin, or after the completion of your order? That is, did the item become unavailable in the process of buying the coin, or did you buy 1, get the order acknowledgment Email, and then an Email about the order status change?
Good morning buddy! Yea that was the kicker for me and the mint. I didn't even eat dinner last night. I made it pass the waiting room went to start navigating and it booted me back to the waiting room for 10 minutes. Then it was gone
@@SonOfASilverStacker honestly I think you know as well as I do that if it does it'll be for a millisecond and then it'll be gone. If People's orders are being canceled that really speaks for itself. We'll see though. I'm out of it now. I won't be trying for these big ones anymore. No matter what I do I always end up having to pay way over sale price from the mint. At that point it's not worth it to me anymore. I'd rather donate my money to someone who needs it rather than a flipper. That seems to be the people who are getting these coins now. I already deleted all my subscriptions from the mint. It's not worth the heartache to me anymore.
@@SonOfASilverStacker well I figured I'd try one more time at 730. Got it in my bag and hit buy. Product not available. Still in the bag. I hit the buy button 75 times. Still nothing
@@SonOfASilverStacker well I figured I'd leave it in my bag thinking maybe just maybe I'll get a better shot at it next time. I go back to it and they removed it from my bag. It's no longer there. Another jab on that one.
I got one yesterday and just for curiosity I just checked at 730 it was available for like one minute because I had one in the cart. Then it popped up unavailable at 7:32
It does appear in Mint sites Shipping options help they have next day ship for $20.95 but not option for nxt day w/ signature for $24.95. However when I was in checkout at 730a the nxt day ship w/ signature option was there, like yesterday, and selected. So it appears Mint gives $3.95 credit & drops to nxt day ship w/o signature. Also their terms indicate these r shipped w/o insurance, that insurance buyers responsibility but how does that work if no separate insurance option at check out even for a fee. So now I'm nervous till it gets here which appears should b monday since UPS doesn'tdeliver ovr weekend 😮. Says still processing & no shipped email yet. It's these lack of customer concern reasons I stopped ordering fr Mint for ovr 3 yrs, it is a stressful experience
So glad I chose to pass on this. After the shenanigans with the silver FHD medal I have given up on the woke ass mint. I am so sick of this administration and their woke ass policies letting the big boys have their share and ours too! Oh, and why did they sell these at just one coin show thereby keeping the rest of the collecting community from possibly obtaining one.
Good morning everyone. I got one email saying "order placed" and one saying "order confirmation." I stepped up the shipping rate. Then I listed it on eBay. Lots of views and watchers.
I usually watch this channel’s live feed during big releases like this but yesterday I passed. The whole auctioning off the privy mark gold coins really tarnished any excitement I had for this release. It is interesting that the coins still sold out within minutes. I noticed there are a LOT of auctions on eBay for this coin and I’m wondering which way the price will go.
Good morning Son, Bitter!, I was on line waiting at the drop time, entered my info, which is already in the system, and nothing! got a notification from my Credit card that a payment had been made for the coin amount, I waited and waited for the confirmation nada happened, checked my account, nada, waited till evening then was shot Right Between my Eyes, "Cancelled" I thought I was scammed but no money was removed form the card, what a bummer. I hope others had better luck.
So...my purchase didn't go thru even tho the coin was in my cart. Then yesterday, I get An email From the mint Saying I left something in my cart And it was showing the Gold flowing hair coin So I click on the link And Voila... There is nothing in my cart! They are going out of their way to add insult to injury LOL
Mine showed Still Processing all day yesterday and when I called the mint they said not to worry that I had a order number, which I did not right down, and the coin was mine but it may take 24-48 hours to process? 9:00 last night it disappeared from my orders. No reason given.I just contacted the mint again and they said that they were passing it on to management.Good luck with that!
I had mine in the cart and then it wouldn't let me checkout because the amount chosen was wrong. The amount I chose was 1 coin! So it sold out while it was in my cart - sad face....
I got mine, the mint sent an email saying they received my order and that I’d get a confirmation email within 24 hours and I got the confirmation later that day. My son got his too!!
Just checked my credit card and it's still pending argh. The credit card company wants to put card back into 'restricted' mode (they say its for my safety due to fraud😡) told them not to touch it till I see it out of 'processing' at Mint site so hope goes to Ship this morning. I thought nxt day ship was like automatic moves to shipped in short order. So until see Shipped not confident I got the coin
Hmmm with the fast sellout, orders being cancelled my first reaction is, there is an issue with the new website. There has to be a disconnect somewhere. Won’t know until the sales report next week Or the become available at 7:30am and stay available for a while.
Amazingly, 24YG popped up! I didn't dare change the quantity, so I bagged 1, checked out, and finished my order within 15 seconds. When my submission was accepted, I immediately went back to the item page, and saw 24YG was unavailable again. I verified that my 3 orders* are Confirmed and in Processing. [* 1 for me, 2 for friends who aren't computer savvy.]
Maybe there's bots but I'll share my story. I was working on shitty wifi and I'd set an alarm for 10 minutes prior and have my info saved on the mint website. So I went directly to the product page and there was a Cloud Flare notice that due to the traffic you had to be queued in a line and then there was a 10 minute window to purchase. Bots are likely but that doesn't mean you can't beat them. Beats standing in a 5 hour line. There was multiple shipping options with signature.
These 230 coins will be available for purchase through a special auction hosted by Stack’s Bowers Galleries on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 12 p.m. ET / 9 a.m. PT. From US Mint
Why? Did you enter a wrong PIN? Did your card go over your limit? I'm sorry you lost out, despite completing your order successfully. That's just a terrible experience.
It was available at 730a, hit the Add to Bag red button successfully but another glitch they showed another item in checkout w/ the flowing hair coin. Saw an email last night fr Mint saying forgot something in my cart. I was in an out of my account multiple times yesterday to get familiar w/ site, put item in cart but the removed it, nothing indicated had anything in my cart until added flowing coin to cart at 730a. Had to go bk to bag to remove other coin, then flowing showed unavailable, were talking seconds. Will have to b mindful if put things in cart & remove & get reminder email later, even if bag icon is empty it appears Mint system still thinks u have item in cart. Nasty surprise. Look forward to hear if others successful today w/ 2nd chance
I ordered 1 at 07:30 EST, and then got the Order Acknowledgement and Confirmation Emails. I had been tempted to bump up the quantity, but realized that the stock is very low, and I'll be risking a failed order. The order limit is bound by the HHOL, a quantity of 99, and whatever is left in stock, as well as the order total of $24,999.99 or your credit/debit limit, whichever is lower; that means 6 coins max if there are enough in stock at $3640 or $3590, and you've got a high card limit.
I sign in right at noon and I get one right away with no problem. I got conformation 2hr later in my junk email. Check CC still pending even check my order history, still don’t have order history. Not sure if mint going to cancel my order.
I got put in the "waiting room". But realistically, I thought that the premium was just way too high and bailed. I figured if they still had them today I'd think about it again. Not a biggie.
The 2024 Pricing Grid doesn't show 24YG, but the premium is $1,040. And with gold typically used as a hedge against inflation, XAU is dropping, due to the improved economic outlook for 2025.
How did you get the notification? Rejection in the process of buying the coin, or after the completion of your order? That is, did the item become unavailable in the process of buying the coin, or did you buy 1, get the order acknowledgment Email, and then an Email about the order status change?
Looking at one sale on ebay doing the math they netted less than 100 bucks and they will receive a 1099. Not sure that's worth it. I received a letter from the Mint yesterday. Inside was a replacement COA for the Greatest Generation half dollar. Apparently they printed 2023 on it instead of 2024.
I was able to add to my cart this morning and attempted to check out 6:30:15am CT and while it was processing payment it said product not available. Will the item be available again tomorrow at the same time? Still think it is ridiculous that you can't check out with an item that is in your shopping cart. Like going to the grocery store and having the last loaf of bread in your cart and the checker says "oh, sorry, this item isn't actually for sale and takes it from you."

Also the invoice just shows Shipping fee but doesn't indicate nxt day. Fortunately I did screen grab when I ordered yesterday & it shows nxt day ship w/ signature. So yep Mint still has issues. Don't like that waiting room, waiting for what to be disappointed. Look forward to hear if anyone got the coin this morning at 730a, appeared to b available to buy for less than a minute
@justin4evers past experiences. There was no guarantee it wud b for sale again but w/ the Mint there r sale day system/pay issues so possibility they r available for sale again for very short (
I was little late due to personal reasons and was already sold out, so I was thinking if they allowed us to subscribe they would have had a better idea of demand. As iy was they did a very poor job and left money on the table.
Why does this remind me of a South Park episode where Eric Cartman is licking 😋 the tears off of Scott Peterman's face after feeding him a bowl of chili made from Scott's parents ground-up bodies?!!! 🍿🤓🥤
I believe $3640 is a deal if you have to have one to keep. The gold with privy mark will be bid up so high, that it'll be out of reach for most collectors. I'm guessing well over $10K because the 2020 AE Gold V75 has a population of 1,945, and 24YG with privy mark only has 230.
First of all, the 1794 flowing hair dollar was a silver coin, not gold. Secondly, will they make a replica of the first gold coin, the 1795 $10 draped bust. Id be in for that. I dont trust making a profit off of reselling the flowing hair. Didnt make sense to me. The silver flowing hair made sense because it is a close replica ( no edge lettering ), much more manageable mark up, and i plan on keeping it.
I did not, I’ve not had luck with purchasing unblemished coins from the US Mint, not sure why they’ve not been able to,solve the quality control issues like other mints.

I was in that line at the Baltimore show. Took 2 1/2 hrs, but was able to secure one.
Nice! Nothing like standing in a real line!

So just how many did they sell at the coin show?
I'm hearing around 300-400 pieces.
500 units. Took around 5 hrs to sell one by one.

Got in about 12:01 on 2 computer and checked out at 12:02. Couldn’t afford 2 of them so bought one. Ordered confirmed by Mint.
Sold out in 3 minutes, managed to order one yesterday on the release day.
That same thing that happened to your buddy happened to me on the silver version. Done with the us mint forever. And these prices are insane!
Mine was canceled! So pissed! My dad's too! GD the US Mint! It was in my bag! clicked check-out and received error. Was in my cart less than 15 seconds
Those Bastards!

I didn’t get one, however, I happy for everyone who did snag one.

Luckily I got one yesterday, went on at 7:30 today, had one in my cart for 10 seconds then gone 😂
At least the US Mint is consistent , in my opinion they should’ve never sold any at the show, that’s not fair to all the collectors around the United States, Keep Stackin Bro
@oahuhawaii2141 nah. I got my coin. I'm good.

Hello; great observations!

One thing I can say is these drops for technical glitch or not, it's been cool.

What happened?
I got put in the "waiting room". But realistically, I thought that the premium was just way too high and bailed. I figured if they still had them today I'd think about it again. Not a biggie.
The 2024 Pricing Grid doesn't show 24YG, but the premium is $1,040. And with gold typically used as a hedge against inflation, XAU is dropping, due to the improved economic outlook for 2025.
