- This is a beginner level ballet barre to Disney music! (And Disney ballet fashion, of course!) This is a basic ballet barre but I give you options for more intermediate and advanced dancers. Pace yourself and do your best. We focus on building technique and strength, so just keep smiling!

Hi I'm Kathryn!
I am a former soloist with the New York City Ballet and Miami City Ballet. When I was a young student, I was always looking for insights into the ballet world and how to improve my dancing as well as beauty and lifestyle tips. Now that I am a professional, it is my turn to share.
On my channel I make ballet, beauty, and lifestyle videos for everyone of all ages. My goal is help dancers improve and achieve their dreams as well as open up the ballet world to non dancers. Let's bring the joy back to ballet! Hi!! I'm really enjoying this class. I've taken it 6 times now! I've always wanted to learn ballet and it's a great workout! I'm plus size trying to get into shape and I couldn't find a dance or excercise I liked until now!!! I love this!!!! I'm even ordering baller slippers! It's very exciting. I absolutely LOVE the addition of the modifications! I've been wondering how to do that for years. I've only ever taken open classes and it's not something that's ever explained. They just kind of assume the advanced dancers will know how to do it. Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you thank you thank you for your beginner/intermediate classes on here! Thank you for having free resources available! I did ballet for 13 years but haven't done pretty much any in the last 9 years. Recently, my 3- year- old started dance classes so I bought shoes to practice with her and now I've been getting up early in the mornings to do this by myself. It takes me back and makes me so happy! I'm married to a doctor in residency who works a lot of hours and we have 2 very young children- doesn't leave me a lot of time or money or ability to leave my kids to go exercise. This has been an AMAZING and fun way for me to get back in shape. I can't thank you enough Kathryn!

I LOVE this class🤩😍 I'm a complete beginner and this classes are helping me a lot to complement the presencial classes😊 Right now I'm trying to focus on the basic posture, turnout, pointing correctly and basic techniques. Also, I need to gain strength 🤣

I have absolutely LOVED this class. The Arielle part made me smile throughout. It's slow enough for me to work on the things I struggle with the most (damn you, frappés!) and I can do the advanced or semi-advanced version with some combinations. I have just started a round of new medication for my auto-immune disease and have been struggling with fatigue. This was the perfect class for me, no fatigue today. If you don't mind, could you do a video on frappé? I get the basics done but I struggle with the double ones. I always end up with me feet in a knot because I don't seem to understand the placement of the foot.
Frappe is ice coffe in greek hahaha and i laugh when reading your comment
same here, I'm more advanced than this but struggle with chronic fatigue and other illnesses so it's always hard, but this one was more gentle on me!!

This is the perfect beginner barre! I'm coming back to ballet after a two-year break and a foot injury, and this barre is absolutely helping me to build up strength and technique again. And thank you for constantly reminding us that we are doing great. I definitely need to hear that, because doing ballet at the moment still feels like going through an existential crisis.

I loved doing this. I did it on pointe and it worked very well with a few modifications.
I am coming back to ballet after a 20+ year hiatus. All the adult classes near me are during the week in the day so they aren’t open to ballerinas who have FT jobs. Kathryn you are my new ballet teacher. Thank you!

Perfect for getting into ballet again and building up strength, stretching and speed. Had to pause for nearly 6 years after 15+ years of ballet classes so I'm absolutely not at my top dancing condition 🙈 loved the last Barre class and was dancing along in my head without any problem, but not with my body 😄

I went to ballet classes since I was 3yo untill 19. I stopped dancing because life got in the way, but I miss it so much! I don't have the confidence to go back to classes now I am 26 and back to beginer level, with no muscles to support me... But I hope that in a while, after taking some time with these online videos, I may gain my confidence back and return to ballet classes

EXCELLENT beginner barre! I’m returning to Advanced Beginner ballet after years. I’m 72. I can’t do this well, but I can do it. I appreciate corrections to help me be mindful of technique. I’m confident I can rebuild strength and regain extension by doing this at home between classes. Thank you so much! I’ll add center next time. I’m wiped out but very happy!

i moved countries and haven't found a ballet class close to me but you remind me so much of my old teacher back home that I might just keep doing it with you
I've not danced for 11 years and I've barely walked for 5 since my EDS progressed and I put on a butt load of weight being bedbound - I still use a wheelchair as I can't walk more than a min or so without needing to sit.... Yet I just did the warmup section. Like, you have no idea what that means to me and my future recovery! Just the accomplishment alone has sent my mood soaring and the fact it will help me if I keep it up to hopefully regain enough strength and stamina to maybe dance again one day. Thank you

this is the first barre that i didnt give up on halfway through (although the adagio nearly killed me). i love this barre and will definitely be doing it again!
Broke my ankle. It is an uncooperative little fellow. I've not even begun and I want you to make another Beginner Part 2! I'm excited to try!! Very happy with your teaching style and the speed of this. Like you said, "height doesn't matter" (ha)! Muscle memory is there to the front. What the heck is going on with the side!

Older dancer here. Started at 52! Working on Pointe in between Pandemic closures. Currently recovering from a broken wrist (ice skating). These videos are giving me hope to return to the studio soon while not having lost strength other than in a left wrist. Back in the rink and on the floor soon!!
