Thanks for the video - first-timer. Loved the part where your dog layed down on the bit you had just dug up - so cute. The views were great. Good luck in the future.
I’m surprised that the beach was yours alone. My family walked the shore all alone in the late sixties. This brought back memories. My mom passed away in January and yesterday would have been her 90th birthday. So many happy times, thank you so much!
I remember Buzzard used to have a saying “The bigger the rocks, the bigger the gold”. Looks like you found bigger pieces in those larger rocks! I love to watch you because you actually Prospect while you’re out for a dig. I also appreciate that you’re teaching others how to analyze the beach conditions for the best places to work through your channel.
Some of the Funest Mining I've had in quite some time was at Lake superior in May. Thanks for showing exactly where you found the gold as far as where the black sand meets the gravels some thing to remember the next time I'm on the beach. Looks like you had a great time, thanks for bringing us all along on your Lake Superior adventures.

This was great. I don't know how many times I've walked along that black sand beach totally unaware of what was beneath my feet. Thanks for the great vid!!
Here in the UK we have a lot of laws and few places to do this type of stuff, but watching you and listening to your enthusiasm is quite a treat in these COVID times. I hope to see you, your family and your beautiful dogs every so often. You’ve certainly put a smile of this old Yorkshireman’s face (although our cat was a bit stroppy each time she saw the dogs!). Good luck mate, I hope you and yours are able to enjoy the fruits of your labour, and remember to look around yourselves and “smell the roses” every so often.
Just started watching your channel. It is great to see someone finding gold in our great state. Just starting to learn now that I'm retired and have more time. Great job!
A lot of those old time Alaska beach miners us beach boxes. They swear by em. Might have a look into one. Seem easy enough to make. Kinda like a 40” wide sluice so your not waiting on a scoop to clear. Just scoop next to scoop at different intervals so you have 5-6 working at once. Seems like a fella could really pins some material. Cheer wizard!!
So can you use a clean up re circle sluce to run beach sand like set it up an use v mat or some other clean up mat an keep water to it all day so it dont "clog or gunk" up your riffles i think it might work idk ima roomie this is my 2nd year panning an all last summer i found a half g so far this summer i found a full g
Wow! Great to see you on good gold again! Those cobbles bring back memories, my great grandfather collected them, brought them back to Milwaukee and built our patio and fireplace and chimney with those. Keep up the GREAT content!
Are you allowed to use hydraulic mining there on the beaches? You are already using a highbanker with pump but could you use a suction-nozzle and use that to dig with for an easier time? You would probably have to use dream mat to handle the high load of sand and still catch the fine gold but I'd be very interested in the results!
Molly and I think Mrs Wizard should make jewelry with her awesome agate and decorative finds. Just a suggestion. 😎 Another suggestion is you get a backup solar panel to juice your battery up?
Thanks for sharing. You should go Yooperlite hunting there since there are a lot of cobbles where you were. Rigby was laying right where you were digging. That’s where the gold was. You found a very nice amount of hold where the cobbles and the black sand meet. Some nice chunky pieces. Sounds like you found your new favorite spot.
Looked like a perfect spot to go. Maybe next time your there. A lot of those cobbles were a nice size too. I wish I can find Yooperlites that big around Chicago where I went and found 13 Yooperlites the first time I went looking for a them. But they all are under 1 inch

Family camping and beach gold, what a great day. Love your attitude and explanations. The mat/carpet is a great idea, does it have a name or just called outdoor mat?
80% of the gold (by weight) on a beach or in a water course is often coloidal size, and is linked by its minute electric charge to a particle of black sand, which carries an opposite electric charge. Use a magnet to retrieve black sand (speaker magnet in a cottage cheeze container works great). Dry the black sand in a solar drier (glass covered black plastic mortar trough works well). When the black sand is bone dry (the glass cover on the trough will not fog when in the sun), resort the black sand again with the magnet and drop in a clean container (repeat this process three times). Examine the non-magnetic residue left behind with a magnifying glass. The amount of small particles of minute gold will astound you. A ton of black sand harvested by magnetic retrieval from California mining tailings has produced up to 40 ounces of gold.
