Not gonna lie I really hope that the chip theory is correct. It would be crazy to see nearly 5 years of fnaf games connected by a chip that appears for like 10 seconds. Awesome stuff John!!
FNAF theory has never been this simple before. Wtaching your and MatPat's theory felt that its a perfect theory. As for that chip you mentioned in Baby and Helpi, I don't think it's a loose thread. Remember that disk device on Funtime Freddy we needed to remove in night 3 of Sister Location? It was also just a random task until the Twisted Ones novel came out and that's where we learned that its an illusion disk. I believe that chip plays a bigger role.
Yeah no, so much of this clicks, I actually feel if you take this, game theory, and id's fantasy's videos and take the strong points you make a crazy timeline.
Yeah, I don't really see how the chip being put into Hand Unit so that Baby can continue to talk to you is not a loose end. Nothing in that game implies the chip has any other purpose.
@@nicholasfitzgerald5482why would baby have a separate talking chip in her? If it's just a vocal synthesizer it wouldn't work without baby. Why would steel wool take the time to model a chip to look exactly like a chip in a separate game they didn't even make? If it is a coincidence it's the biggest red herring in recent years in the fnaf franchise
Matpat's theories aren't perfect, matpat often overlooks information that would very quickly shut down how concrete he presents his theories as as well as constantly using weak at best threads as "strong evidence". He also sometimes will just go on about the most random bs for the last thirty seconds of a theory vid regardless of how relevant it is to any of the info given in the vid
John got so good at reeling in his theories. The growth of this channel is actually amazing! All of John’s interpretations feel right. I feel confident in the gravestones indicating which souls moved on first. Great theory to end off the year! :D
I'm still leaning it's the order of deaths myself, with the Alone Together story explaining how Charlie dies last but is still present for the give gifts give life. MCI occurs, Cassidy is an unintended witness that gets killed to keep it quiet, the puppet is created to watch kids, Charlie dies, and her body is found immediately allowing her to posses the puppet. As the puppet she leads the other children's souls to their bodies allowing them to possess the animatronics they're hidden in. It what makes the most sense with that darn 'I was the first, I have seen everything' line to me. That being said, it definitely fits the order of being laid to rest properly too, the MCI children would be first (with CC? Not accounted for in HW2 really) then Cassidy then Charlie. Assuming Cassidy is actually moved on, last I knew they were clinging to Afton's soul.
@@HeroshandI think CC ends up being Cassidy at that point , which is odd comparing their apparent personality differences, and the heavy hints towards two spirits in one animatronic.
The thing with the computer chip has to be one of the most solid things I’ve seen in a FNaF theory in years. It absolutely had to be something important, and it made sense for it to be related to either glitchtrap or the mimic, but the Helpy thing is so blatant that you really cannot deny it
In regards to the FallFest fire, I would like to point to Candy Cadet's first story in Help Wanted 2. A Family had the opportunity of a lifetime to buy a pizza deal for $50, but they turned it down and all died. I interpret this as whoever owned the carnival having an opportunity to join Henry and William in their Pizza business by buying shares in their company but they turned it down, then the carnival mysteriously caught fire and Henry found himself in the possession of the Carnie animatronic, which he later repurposes into Lefty.
My fist impression of that part was that it felt like a mostly straight-up commercial, with a characteristic Faz-twist at the end, which would make sense in-universe as the pizzeria would want to use their candy/story attraction to sell more pizza. The IRL explanation I read from it was to be a bit of light trolling from the devs. Like, "Oh, you want *LORE?* How about an advertisement instead, you nerd. (...okay now you can have lore.)" It's also entirely possible, even probable considering the nature of this franchise, that the interpretation I just laid out is what they _want_ us to think, while the deeper meaning is left for the theorists to uncover.
Mxes is the ghost of Jeremy and that’s why MXES is the only character to have human hands it’s also why we find no bodies. That’s probably the only wild theory here really
I get the feeling that since there's already so much to figure out, Steel Wool is giving us some easy pieces of the puzzle to solve to give us enough to build on when their next game comes out, and they complicate things again. I really like the chip theory, because I like how it ties together some of the looser parts of the story. Maybe at some point, we'll finally have all the answers we need for the history of FNaF (as it seems Steel Wool's 70's game might do) and then we'll finally be able to move forward with the series.
I just rewatched and realized something supporting the idea that by collecting the plushies you’re letting the memories be forgotten: Collecting the Faz Force figures works as that goal’s symbolic opposite. Instead of letting the memories be laid to rest you’re collecting merchandise specifically of the characters associated with each victim and putting them on display. An act that preserves the memories of the victims by grouping them together. Going back to this symbolism in the plushies, they’re not placed together and assembled into a display after being collected. They are in individual locations as if whoever left them there had no intention of showing them. Collecting the plushies in this way lets them be remembered and then let go instead of showcasing the memories like the collection of Faz Force figures.
I just had a couple more thoughts about this. There are other ways the two collections are symbolically opposite as well. The plushies are human shaped with only a mask of the character associated with that victim. This is opposed to the Faz Force figures being merchandise of only the character associated with each kid. The only direct tie to the victims in the Faz Force figures is being placed in a set that corresponds to Afton’s victims. The focus is not on the individuals who died, it is on the completed collection of Afton victims as a whole. The Masked Plushies on the other hand are much more directly representative of the people who died because the only ties to each Fazbear character is the mask each doll wears. The achievement “Remember Jeremy?”depicting the Bonnie masked plushie (6:45) for collecting your first plushie supports this because the memories that you collect are of the victims as individuals, not just memories of them as victims of Afton.
Another interesting parallel between the two collections is how they're made and what they are made of. The Faz Force figures seem to be made of plastic, mass produced, and with minimal changes between the molds to that the least amount of money can be spent to differentiate the characters. They're meant to be churned out quickly and cheaply and the material isn't going to rot away anytime soon. The plushes though seem to be handmade cloth dolls with either paper or, possibly, felt masks. They took time to make and, while the bodies aren't differentiated at all from what I can see, the masks are as cleanly and obviously each character as they can possibly be. The material is obviously worn pretty badly considering the patches, but they're cared for enough to have been patched in the first place, so they're going to wear out eventually but they will be cared for until then. My big point of consideration here is to wonder why the masks? The figures have molded on heads that are pretty close to being the most differentiating features of their designs. But the plushes have masks that could be taken off pretty easily and even swapped to a different doll. What, if anything, does that say here?
It's also interesting that with the Faz Force, you're getting them from the game (from Helpi?), that's where the game is leading you. With the plushies, you need to actively look for clues and then replay certain games and follow the clues, it's not easy, you have to actively participate, instead of just "oh, there's a gift, let me open it".
@@tympestbooks1727I think the masks being easily removed / swapped gives more credence to the fact that they’re meant to be forgotten. Over time, they’ll get confused with one another, you won’t be able to identify who is who, and they will fade into being simply faceless plushies, allowing the memories associated to fade alongside them. They’ll hold up long enough for their purpose, but not an unnecessarily long time. Meanwhile, the figurines will never be confused or forgotten about, as even if there is paint that can wear away the main plastic bodies are entirely different and easily identifiable from one another. Even after their purpose is done, they will survive and likely remain intact for long after.
@@tympestbooks1727 I think the masks being easily removed further shows how the plushies’ existence is about the identities of the victims as individual children and on not the characters they went on to possess.
What I find interesting is that the speculation around Eclipse being far older was definetly proven to be correct in this game as well as many other things. I don‘t exactly remember what other animatronics were suspected to be older in form of a circus attraction but there were definetly hints in all games and books and now all pieces seem to fit together.
That’s another thing I’m surprised nobody mentions we are in a carousel that’s catching fire the scenery of either a carnival or circus is definitely being hinted at
I love that more and more characters are being used in FNAF now! Even just as much as The Mimic sort of replacing Afton as the main antagonist got me excited for where the story is going, but now with Helpy and Bonnie Bro having lore importance!? It's just so damn exciting!!!
@@Casey1 the books may not be in the same universe as the games, but they tend to share some common themes. I can imagine that the mimic in the games has a similar backstory to the one in the books.
I think the "remember Jeremy" achievement is refering to the Jeremy mentioned in the FNaF VR tapes, since Cassie's dad knowing that Jeremy is much more believable than him remembering the child that was stuffed into Bonnie back in the 80s
I think it is possible that it can refer to all the above. Plus also FNAF2's security guard Jeremy Fitzgerald. Jeremy has been one of those names thrown around quite a bit. So far one of the few reasons for this is that it was maybe Michael Afton using the victim Jeremy's (and Fritz's) name as aliases. But maybe they are planning something interesting here. Security Breach also has references to "remember Jeremy". Though, it is written down so you can read it in two ways. We don't know if it is someone trying to remember Jeremy or someone (maybe Jeremy himself) trying to get Jeremy to remember something. Which is similar to what Mike Schmidt is trying to do in the movie. I would love it if they could figure out a way of tying together several events throughout Fazbear history.
I feel like there are way to many Jeremy’s to accurately pin down what the achievement was talking about Personally I feel like it’s referring to the Jeremy that got stuffed into Bonnie.
I think Carnie is actually Lefty as it makes so much sense. Lefty was always an outliar as there always was a main 4 group. A black Freddy as another character never made sense. After the 1970s incident Henry probably just retrieved his broken body and in planning the Fnaf 6 fire reused it by installing a trapping machine for the puppet. This is probably why Lefty is black because he probably was Carnie but with slightly burned metal fixed by rebrushing the animatronic.
I don't necessarily agree with Cassie's dad being the Princess Quest guy. I think he was just one of the employees of Fazbear Entertainment that was killed by Vanessa as implied in the emails (including the unused ones from AR since a lot of IT staff that went to these birthday parties and company retreats...) I do think he was the Bonnie Bully though, since that is the only time we see that kind of mask outside of Ruin and HW2.
Ending the year on such a strong note! Love this theory, John, and I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next. Hope you have a happy New Year, my dude! And same to everyone else here in the comments 🖤
I actually like Rye’s interpretation of the graves. Dying and possessing an animatronic don’t have to occur at the same time. The MCI kids could have died first but just wandered until Charlie died, possessed the puppet and gave them bodies.
JOHN!!!! THIS IS SO SOLID!!!! Carnie and Lefty's models being in the exact same pose blew my mind! But not more than the CHIP DISCOVERY!!! WHAT?!?! You're on a roll, my man!!!
I knew that the order we lit the graves at the end of Princess Quest 4 wasn't the order of the 5 children getting killed. Although I commented on GTLive saying it could be a code that Cassie's father came up with at some point in his lifetime, what you said about it being the order in which the children moved on makes much more sense. It's clear that both you and Matt see eye to eye when it comes to what Help Wanted 2 is telling us and what it could mean for the future, albeit you add in the extra details that Matt may not have thought of at the time of recording his HW2 playthrough and his latest theory.
Was watching Rye's playthrough first/live. And when he was screaming "this is the confirmed order they died, if you believe anything else you're drinking the copium" meanwhile I was shouting "or the order they went to rest!" So thank you for solidifying my theory lol
This is the first interpretation I've agreed with on the graves, I'm so glad you didn't just blindly accept that it's the "new retconned timeline" deal. I think the fire might also have to do with the Mimic, since we know his body was originally burnt when transferred over to Fazbear Entertainment, yet we don't know anything about the fire he was in. I still don't agree with the ending portion with baby and the mimic ordeal, the physical Helpy and the Mimic's Helpi are different entities, named differently and everything But, criticisms aside, one of your best theories, I think! Cassie's Dad I feel is pretty much confirmed and solid, along with him being PQguy and maybe Bonnie Bully. You cooked, fire pun intended
"new retconned timeline" Nothing lore significant has ever been retconned. And that order can be discovered using just FNaF 1-4 anyways. Four games. One story.
@@ender01o66 Yeah that's what I'm saying, other than the one retcon Scott confirmed happened (which I'm pretty certain is just making Mike Schmidt from FNaF 1 into Mike Afton going forward) I've seen people say the order of the graves is the order of when they all died, which just completely goes against what we already know, so him going with the order their spirits were freed makes so much sense, and lines up perfectly in the books it seems too
What if William Afton was the one trying to put the misery/memory to rest in the Princess Quest path. The Fazbear Frights stories hint that OMC is William Afton and Glitchtrap was defeated when OMC given you the last plushy (William’s spring Bonnie plushy). Fnaf’s story is in weird spot where GF refuses to move on from William Afton (OMC) even if William tells her to in UCN.
@@justice8718 honestly, William's gone now, he was defeated by the Puppet at the end of the Frights stories, when the Puppet's spirit moved on I think Glitchtrap didn't die at the end of HW2, personally I think Vanny/Vanessa's ties to him is what died Glitchtrap(Mimic1) still has a piece of him left in the charging station, we only see his hands and tiny versions of him, and we see him as Helpi in Ruin, a weaker version of Glitchtrap/Mimic1 If anything, I think this is The Mimic1 getting rid of his Afton Mimicking program, and severing his possession with Vanny/Vanessa
always get so excited when you post a new theory. you always bring up new ideas that i havent thought about yet or havent seen others mention, especially that note from cassie's dad in ruin! have a good new years!
I watched ryetoast's theory right before this, and i love that they have the same major points and ideas basically, but come up with vastly different conclusions! Thats what i love about this community ❤
I usually doubt your theories, haven't been big on human robots and Charlie being so important. But dang this is all really solid stuff I haven't seen anyone mention. Helpi's place in canon, the intentional nod to Baby's 'brain', the allusions to Fall Fest... makes me really excited for what they're setting up.
When was Charlie ever not important? The Puppet’s role was pretty much the only thing we knew for certain for the longest time, that didn’t magically change just because the pronouns did.
@@madamplatypus313 When I say Charlie, I mean the human kid as a character. Charlie, currently, is more just a backstory for the Puppet. I'm specifically referring to theories that say things like "Charlie is coming back in human form" and "Charlie's ghost is protecting Cassie because we spotted the color green." Charlie's role has never gone beyond being the puppet.
John really never dissapoints us. He always has tons of information to support his evidence and he’s just really good at connecting the dots and making theories! Amazing job John!
This is an incredible theory! I love the fact you actually took your time to think this through and not just throw a theory out to stay relevant. This is what makes your theories so good!
This was seriously awesome, I think you're 100% right and we're (hopefully!!!) getting a game set at the fall fest location. Your theories are my absolute favorite, seeing this video show up made me so happy.
Another thing has been tied up lets go. Also don't doubt yourself on the Mimic virus chip inside of Baby, look at Funtime Freddy with his "random disc" inside his torso. Notice how a future novel confirmed it was an illusion disc. This is relatively the same situation, but now within a VR game! Love your theories. 💖
Monty and Freddy are at the point of no repair, Monty lost his legs, his claws, and all of his sanity and just became a aggressive pitbull, ruined Freddy has no head, his insides are torn out and without a head he can’t talk or see.
idk if its possible to fix monty specifically, he lost all his limbs. he can’t even speak words he can only bark and growl like a feral dog. and who knows where fazbear entertainment (if they did) puts everyone’s body parts and remains
The way I was on the edge of my seat!! Awesome theory; I love where you went with the 1970 fall fest thread. It was something I hadn’t even seen mentioned yet. Can’t wait to see more 🎉🎉
Omg, Baby's chip theory is back! I thought you'd actually give up on it. Even though I'm not sure if there's any way that chip can be related with the Mimic, it's still a really cool theory to consider and the fact that chip appears again in Help Wanted 2 is mind blowing. I didn't notice it had the same pattern.
Ay John will forever be a god for the Fnaf Theory community. The sheer amount of things he has made visible is crazy. Thank you for all of this amazing content and Happy New Years!
The Baby chip in the Helpy minigame is insane. Amazing catch. Your and MatPat's theories aren't always the best, but you guys have been catching some dubs lately with your predictions, like Cassie's dad being the Bonnie bully and Baby's chip being important.
One thing I discovered, is that when playing FNAF AR, when you unlock the photo booth, you’ll have the option to have frames when you take pictures. While it isn’t special, the very last one shows off a curtain, with a wooden sign above it that reads, “come one, come all. The Fazbear Circus”. Not to mention we did get an in game purchase level that revolves around the circus. I’m excited to see where this will go with Fall Fest, and even the whole Circus idea. Edit: I never considered Carnie to be similar to Lefty, especially sense we do have Rockstar Freddy. But when John mentioned Carnie and Lefty have the same pose, I think there could be a connection there? I’m excited for the next FNAF installment, and I bet it’ll be a good one. 😀👍
Nice! I was looking forward to this and it doesn't disappoint. Other videos about this stuff are mostly just people understanding the story, but your out of the box thinking adds heavy weight to things. The timeline presented in the story "The Mimic" puts that event between '74 & '79 and the (parallel or not) character is working on the bots for the '83 pizzeria. When homeboy ups and leaves Fazbear Ent. gets hold of the properties. Timeline fits perfectly with your theory as to when the program was created, when it would be obtained. That and coupled with your theory of Baby being a springlock suit, that would mean the Endo and the Program are possibly two separate things. The endo is probably possessed by the soul while the chip is still the mimic. I digress. Great theory. Ignore any hate you get.
Brilliant work John, I'll be the first to admit when I first saw your original theories they did have me raising an eye-brow but you've really come into your own and refined that keen eye of yours to present some genuinely compelling and well thought ideas and I think this one is probably my favourite yet. Well done!
This is a fantastic take on it. The order of the souls makes so much more sense than deaths. Also I still love how varied the game play is for what you are shown, with the example of Helpi's head and that chip. Without that variation, how Helpi became to be is hard to say. I can't wait to watch Matpat react to this!
Nice work, I don't see anyone else talking about the Fall Fest 1970 detail, only the 83 one. There has to be more to it and I think Steel Wool is going to surprise us with a Fall Fest - centric game out of nowhere
Your theories have become so, so compelling. I love watching you grow as a theorist. And honestly, this time I think you're completely right. Waiting eagerly to see it confirmed.
1:30 and don’t forget the Daycare Theatre section with shattered Chica! She’s in a her shattered state, but not in her ruined state. Her beak is gone and her eyes are loose, yet she still has most of her casing on, she has both arms, half of her head shell isn’t gone, she’s not covered in moldy cheese webbing, and she doesn’t have a trash bag in her abdomen. This is simply shattered Chica, not ruined Chica. Also, even with Chica’s terrible habits, I doubt she’d transform into her ruined state *that* quickly. That means if Roxy was sitting at that same place the whole time, she must have literally stayed there sobbing for who knows how many months. Wow. Either way, even if the Roxy section is helpful, I’d say Chica’s state in Help Wanted 2 is the clearest giveaway.
I really think that your theory on the chip is spot on! The “Model 5 Handy Unit” system is the handheld device that we plug the chip into. “Helpy” has been here since FNAF Sister Location! Maybe the virus implanted a copy of itself into the Helpy System then, and traveled down the other models until present time, where it’s infected all of the Pizzaplex system? It would be super interesting to trace how far back we see Helpy, and monitor its change as we see so clearly in Ruin. I.e. his purple veins and glitching.
Love this theory. Even if your ideas about the chip turn out to be incorrect, it still gives me that little buzz that theories did back in the old days of FNAF. Thanks John
The fact that this entire theory was based on one of the most overlooked parts of sister location that not even someone like matpat has pointed out or over analyzed and it turns out to actually be a pretty well backed up theory is crazy 😭
Yesss!!! I love your theories and this on just keeps it going. I never noticed the brain chip until now but I’ve been a strong supporter of your Baby Glitch Trap theory. I believe another hint of evidence is the Fnaf 6 Insanity ending, Henry’s other speech. He speaks of a wound first inflicted on him, while this is assumed to be referring to Charlie the wording was always odd and allured to something before all of this. Next game will probably be like you said, the origins. Perhaps a young Henry creates advanced A.I. for his animatronics and they go a bit whacky. Baby has always been the odd one out, given she’s always had two distinct personalities, Elizabeth and Baby. It’s crazy to think that soon enough we might learn the full truth.
I think it’s just easier game design wise. It gives a very clear starting point for the player (a blank grave) and you have less amount of dots to layout in a limited space without having to make the puzzle too obvious to solve.
It's a programming thing. Since we're playing a game that makes sense. In programming arrays of data (as a list of kids would be) start with 0 for access so it would be like deadKids[0] and that would access the first entry in that list.
Hey John! Amazing theory like usual! A little detail that idk if u know, but once u beat the good ending of hw2, the helpi of the main hub dissapears, further backing up its connection to glitchtrap
okay so why do the developers literally watch your videos and then add your theories to the games?? i’m so impressed john!! it all clicked in my head as you were explaining LMAO
i gasped the moment you showed the chip side by side and i'm terribly sorry about the hate you are already getting from this on twitter (not even 4 hours past), you don't deserve any of it, i love your theories thank you for doing them!!! sending much love!
I did that with Matpat's playthrough and RyeToast's videos. At least until the second to last episode of their playthrough and I couldn't gave in to the impulses. Watch the playthrough first if you want, you'll have a great time.
I loved the chip theory back then and this is really cool for it - baby's presence generally brings so many questions but the skin for the chip being the same feels good regardless
This theory is fantastic! I am so so so looking forward to the next theories, this game was so packed with lore I can’t wait to hear what all you’ve discovered! Amazing work as always, we love ya John!!!!
Man, you and MatPat are on the dot with these theories! You two HAVE to do a collaboration theory because I’m sure you two and others can definitely figure out a more accurate interpretation of the lore with HW2’s release.
John, you are just amazing! I've watched a few recent theories but yours is the only one that makes the most sense especially the order of the graves! Truly genius and I can't wait to hear more!
I'm still a fan of the idea that not only are you playing as cassies dad and he's the bonny bully from the 83 bite, but that he's also jeremy fitzgerald from fnaf 2 who was the 87 bite victim. We know the bite victim actually survived ("amazing the body can live without a frontal lobe"), but also that he's the same jeremy who later on became the first tester in help wanted 1 who sliced his face. This would match candy cadets story of a victim who escaped a witch but with terrible scars, only to return with age but still got eaten. Without his frontal lobe he'd lose his memory and so why characters keep telling him "do you remember". Plus it would help clean up why the name jeremy keeps popping up with the only other jeremy now being the bonny victim, which just so happens to be cassie's dad's favorite
>but also that he's the same jeremy who later on became the first tester in help wanted 1 who sliced his face. He isnt, that one seems WAY too young, plus the past tense used when referring to him implies he died before Tape Girl finished recording, alongside the lawsuits mentioned. >only to return with age but still got eaten. >Without his frontal lobe he'd lose his memory and so why characters keep telling him "do you remember". I dont think he'd end up as a graphics designer then, or a technician, also note that it isnt SIMPLY age, but also the wisdom that came with it i believe it said? He cant exactly do so if he has no memory.
Man thank you for being brave enough to share your theories with the community. You never disappoint and you always leave me in awe with the stuff that you connect together and make sense of things no one else seems to talk about. Appreciate you!
I think you're right about Fall Fest being an important part of the early timeline. I've been wondering lately if the clearing we see in Midnight Motorist with the unmarked grave, might have been the location for it.
This theory really goes off on a tangent, but based on what I've seen from your theory and Matpat's gameplay, I had the idea that the victims of the missing children's incident may be the siblings or other family members of the bullies who cause the Bite of '83. Considering the whole "Remember Jeremy" thing, the fact that Cassie's dad is most likely black, and that the kid who played Bonnie in the FNAF movie was also black, it got me thinking that maybe, Jeremy was Cassie's dad's brother, and Cassie's dad was the bully who wore the Bonnie mask. It would definitely explain the 'Remember Jeremy' achievement, as well as giving a deeper motive to Afton's killings. It would also explain why those specific children were stuffed in those specific suits. Of course this doesn't account for Golden Freddy or the fact that the kid stuffed into Foxy wasn't Michael's brother. It's got holes, definitely, but I thought it was a theory that could tie a lot of things together.
I know that matpat likes to dismiss a lot of your theories to to conflicting evidence but the chip is the most undeniable thing that so many people have missed
7:30 i think its: Crying child Charolette (henry said in FNaF 6 this was his first wound) Missing Ones (this was second he let bleed) Elizabeth (the last victim)
Has anyone else noticed that when we fight the like cardboard spingtrap, to get the last plushie, and the whole carnival is burned around us, some of the burned picese of wood, are the same EXACT shape of the dead kids, in give gifts, give life. At 7:52 of this video, the shape of the child in the middle, is the same shape you can see in the background of the cardboard springtrap fight. Not sure if this is just an easter egg or what, but it has bugged me since the first playthrough I watched.
Johnnnn! Nice work!!! This imo puts it all together, but I am waiting on one thing, which you are probably sure we all are, which is your interpretation of Candy Cadet's stories. Love to see your theories, can't wait for more!
The mimic coming from baby just completely undermines everything the mimic is. The mimic has its own story - you choose to ignore it and stick to the past. Things like consistent models for animatronic CPUs between games is suddenly proof the mimic came from baby. The mimic has its origins. Help Wanteds mimic came from a circuit board. Let it go.
>The mimic has its own story - you choose to ignore it and stick to the past. In the *books,* we dont know jack shit about it's story in the games yet, aside from several details that seem to contradict what the books say :V >Help Wanteds mimic came from a circuit board. Let it go. Unironically, there's still a high chance the boards/chips came from Sister Location, especially if Mimic dates back to MCI/Fredbear era FazEnt. Especially since, between 1994 and 2023, FazEnt absorbed Afton Robotics and gained ownership of CBEAR. What next, Henry died before FNAF 1 to Baby? >Things like consistent models for animatronic CPUs between games is suddenly proof the mimic came from baby. While i'm not 100% sold, it's pretty fucking odd that Steel Wool just HAPPENED to copy the design of something seen very very briefly over 7 years ago by chance, and somehow missed the implications that has. Honestly, i'm surprised you believe the books are game timeline but you dont believe that :V
3:48 is so cute It shows how good of a friend Gregory is It makes it a lot sadder when (SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) When cassie dies at the end of ruin
Great theory as always it’s just the way the franchise is going that you will have to spend more money on the books to actually understand anything. Not to mention no closure on any of the previous games is even more frustrating. I really hope they see the rekindled interest in the games and take advantage of it giving us more asap
I'd like to add to this theory with a bit of a reach of my own: I think the Mimic could actually be Elizabeth Afton. Her death is the most different in the franchise, meaning she doesn't know better. Scrap Baby may have been burned but as you pointed out her chip escaped as Helpi and coulda been put in the Mimic exoskeleton. Even at the end of Pizza Sim before Henry cuts her off she says "Now we can do what we were created to do" and "I will make you proud, Daddy". Almost as if she's trying to MIMIC her father! She also mentions in Sister Location how she learned to pretend and be one way instead of another, similar to how The Mimic pretended to be Gregory by copying his voice
>Scrap Baby may have been burned but as you pointed out her chip escaped as Helpi and coulda been put in the Mimic exoskeleton. It was removed before FNAF 6, in SL, likely staying there til HW1. >Almost as if she's trying to MIMIC her father! How though? She first speaks about their "purpose", which the Robots' was to murder people. And they're trying to murder you :V And i'm pretty sure that's more "approval-seeking daughter", which is reinforced by the books. Elizabeth tries to get his attention during work, and he slaps her. She dresses up as Baby to try and get his attention. Plus, Mimic is an AI, Elizabeth is not :V
@@higueraft571 Wait are you arguing for or against me cuz other than that last sentence it sounds like you're reinforcing me. >Yes the point is her chip avoided being burned in fnaf 6 so there's a part of her left that coulda gone somewhere else. >Speaking about trying to murder ppl cuz she's in the killing robot is... exactly what her father did, murder ppl. >That just proves why she would try to copy what he did to try and get his approval. She might see it as "well my dad killed kids so if I kill ppl too I might finally get his approval" > The mimic is both the AI in the system AND the physical robot Cassie finds in the bottom of the pizzaplex, So Elizabeth could be in either or, or both
@@NebbyNebberson Do note: From what we've seen, Remnant does NOT burn. So Elizabeth would still exist, same for william which we met, Michael in the tapes, Cassidy in UCN and maybe Princess Quest, MCI in Blob, and Charlie unaccounted for, likely present still. I dont think "wants to kill people" is exactly proof she's trying to BE William, especially when, again, the robot is the one purpose built to kill :V And gaining approval doesnt really mean she's trying to be him, specifically. If he approves, she gets validated and a big hit of dopamine, she's already doing so well before she died apparently :V Yes and no, Mimic and Glitchtrap are 100% separate characters, but made off the same baseline state of Mimic.

so what just suddenly made sence. there are two stories in help wanted 2. one shows you williams perspective, the other shows henry's. the backwords from the way you would assume though.
The helpy chip being the same as baby's chip (in universe) is probably just because fazbear entertainment uses the same kind of chip for each of the animatronics' AI. Kinda like how in real life the inside of every NES game cartridge looks the exact same.
I haven't seen anyone say that the gravestones are the order the souls move on and that makes so much sense! I'm excited to hear more of your thoughts on this game John.
I think I can understand how fast bear entertainment was rebuilt after the company was dissolved after for naff six The thing is fast bear entertainment is gone but Afton robotics LLC is still there because if you look on the bottom, right hand corner of the fun time, animatronic blueprints, you will see Afton robotics LLC they’re already related to the Fairfield brand but they’re technically an LLC they could re-branded to fast bear entertainment but instead of being a company that would be an LLC
The first theory I saw was the solving security breach video and a year in I’m glad I found this channel. I rarely find myself fully agreeing with fnaf theories anymore. On some of your older videos I felt like you had really good ideas and just not enough evidence so there was always one or two shaky points, but I think you even beat matpat to the punch on this one. Love the video. Keep cooking.
Hey I actually have a little theory about Moondrop in HW2, so to start Moondrop apears in HW2 many times, in daycare(obviously), carasell(I’ll come back to that), focus pirate ride, and then In one of the endings. But in severity breach when Moondrop takes GR Freddy and waves at Gregory (i think he waves) it’s like he’s being TOLD to do that, plus he’s the only animatronic that didn’t normally attack anyone besides Gregory, so I feel like maybe he was given orders to do that by maybe Vanny or Glitchtrap. In the foxy ride there is another version of Moondrop that is in the glitchy part of the ride when you shoot Helpy. I’m that one ending you give the Glitchtrap plushy to moon and he brings it to Vanny, also there like this weird version of Moon in the claw machine, a PURPLE version-caugh caugh-Aftons signicher color-caugh caugh-… The caracel ride with moon evenatual gets set on fire, but we’ve never actually seen a caracel in a fnaf game before, but there were talks of a new fnaf game realted to a carnival and ballons, so if MatPats theory related to Ruin is true and the mimic and the daycare attendants (and maybe Carni with maybe Henry) were one of Afton first creations maybe we will see them in this new talk of a fnaf game Also idk how to REALLy word any of this I just thought of theory that might be important Also love your vids
I must admit, this is very compelling. I had noticed that Lefty and the Carny had the same position and the same (overall) shape, though I was never able to think of a way for them to be connected; you did an outstanding job with connecting it back to the poster (which, admittedly, I hadn't taken notice of). I also wondered why the chip in the repair mini-game looked so familar while watching MatPat play the game. Thankfully, you reminded me by mentioning your past theory; I'm quite excited to see how much the chip will actually be used in the game, apart from just being shown. Overall, I think you're correct with this video, or, at the very least, on the right track. This was an amazing video, John. Also, this is a bit off topic from the theory: can we take a moment to appreciate the pure glee in John's voice when he said "An adult! We're an adult," 'cause it made my night.
I SAW THAT CHIP IN THE MINIGAME AND I KNEW- I’m so glad that you found out about it too!! I always loved that theory and I’m so glad that it’s looking like it’s correct (or at least, someone is listening to the community)
Not gonna lie I really hope that the chip theory is correct. It would be crazy to see nearly 5 years of fnaf games connected by a chip that appears for like 10 seconds. Awesome stuff John!!
It would be like the Chica missing beak situation from the first 4 games.

M
Correct

(...okay now you can have lore.)"
It's also entirely possible, even probable considering the nature of this franchise, that the interpretation I just laid out is what they _want_ us to think, while the deeper meaning is left for the theorists to uncover.
Uhhhh… since when has making a FNaF theory gone this smoothly and perfectly? Knowing Steelwool and Scott, I feel like there’s gotta be more…
Maybe they want to give the community a break after the mess created and cleaned up by the books.
Mxes is the ghost of Jeremy and that’s why MXES is the only character to have human hands it’s also why we find no bodies. That’s probably the only wild theory here really
@@redwiltshire1816 👍
I actually think Steelwool is just better than Scott at telling the story. And like... expand more than doing retcons of what we know
I get the feeling that since there's already so much to figure out, Steel Wool is giving us some easy pieces of the puzzle to solve to give us enough to build on when their next game comes out, and they complicate things again. I really like the chip theory, because I like how it ties together some of the looser parts of the story. Maybe at some point, we'll finally have all the answers we need for the history of FNaF (as it seems Steel Wool's 70's game might do) and then we'll finally be able to move forward with the series.
I just rewatched and realized something supporting the idea that by collecting the plushies you’re letting the memories be forgotten:
Collecting the Faz Force figures works as that goal’s symbolic opposite.
This exactly. I like the way you think!
@LaggingThelagger I thought the mimic was mimicking it's creator (don't remember who) beating the living hell out of it after his son died?
@@zderpydiamond4800 that was in the book

I feel like there are way to many Jeremy’s to accurately pin down what the achievement was talking about
Personally I feel like it’s referring to the Jeremy that got stuffed into Bonnie.
A FuhNaff video, the best way to end the year of Fnaf! Let's hope next year is even better (and less confusing)!

I think he was just one of the employees of Fazbear Entertainment that was killed by Vanessa as implied in the emails (including the unused ones from AR since a lot of IT staff that went to these birthday parties and company retreats...)
I do think he was the Bonnie Bully though, since that is the only time we see that kind of mask outside of Ruin and HW2.
No thank you
Then why don’t you go to his video and say that.
It was a great take, but if you look at the books, they say the deaths take place in 1983 and 1985.
Charlie dying before the MCI is simply canon, bro. And Rye Toast is a really, really bad theorist.
@juliabp6057 Dude, it's only stated in the books, I don't believe Charlie died last, but you don't have to be so rude.

What a perfect end to a great year for FNAF :)
I still don't agree with the ending portion with baby and the mimic ordeal, the physical Helpy and the Mimic's Helpi are different entities, named differently and everything
But, criticisms aside, one of your best theories, I think! Cassie's Dad I feel is pretty much confirmed and solid, along with him being PQguy and maybe Bonnie Bully. You cooked, fire pun intended
"new retconned timeline"
Nothing lore significant has ever been retconned.
And that order can be discovered using just FNaF 1-4 anyways. Four games. One story.
@@ender01o66 Yeah that's what I'm saying, other than the one retcon Scott confirmed happened (which I'm pretty certain is just making Mike Schmidt from FNaF 1 into Mike Afton going forward)
I've seen people say the order of the graves is the order of when they all died, which just completely goes against what we already know, so him going with the order their spirits were freed makes so much sense, and lines up perfectly in the books it seems too
@@YankyYaz I recommend you watch RyeToast's most recent theory! They had a very good explanation on the Poppets (the dolls) in HW2. Go check it out!
@@justice8718 honestly, William's gone now, he was defeated by the Puppet at the end of the Frights stories, when the Puppet's spirit moved on
I think Glitchtrap didn't die at the end of HW2, personally I think Vanny/Vanessa's ties to him is what died
Glitchtrap(Mimic1) still has a piece of him left in the charging station, we only see his hands and tiny versions of him, and we see him as Helpi in Ruin, a weaker version of Glitchtrap/Mimic1
If anything, I think this is The Mimic1 getting rid of his Afton Mimicking program, and severing his possession with Vanny/Vanessa

The robot theory can be put to rest tbh thanks to the masks implant potentially explaining why Gregory sees static

Charlie's role has never gone beyond being the puppet.

Now I know why MatPat is retiring…
Your theories have become so, so compelling. I love watching you grow as a theorist. And honestly, this time I think you're completely right. Waiting eagerly to see it confirmed.
can't wait for the most controversial yet probable theories.

Your video's on FNaF are so game changing, I can't wait to watch this one.
I.e. his purple veins and glitching.
this one's... actually really good. great work john!
Does anyone have any idea why the plushies are labeled 0-5 instead of 1-6? I haven't yet heard anyone explain it but its always felt weird to me
I think it’s just easier game design wise.
Arrays (big lists) start at 0 in programming.
I love how Fuhnaff looks like Josh Hucherson from the fnaf movie and I’m all for it. But seriously- keep up the great work and content!!
You came back when everyone needed you!
Hey John! Amazing theory like usual! A little detail that idk if u know, but once u beat the good ending of hw2, the helpi of the main hub dissapears, further backing up its connection to glitchtrap
okay so why do the developers literally watch your videos and then add your theories to the games?? i’m so impressed john!! it all clicked in my head as you were explaining LMAO
i gasped the moment you showed the chip side by side
and i'm terribly sorry about the hate you are already getting from this on twitter (not even 4 hours past), you don't deserve any of it, i love your theories thank you for doing them!!!
sending much love!
Is it bad that I want to watch this after Mark finishes his playthrough?
Edit: 2 weeks later he’s still not done
Edit 3: he’s finally done
no bestie come back when you're done having fun, the madness will be waiting lol
Nothing wrong with that, I did the same but with AstralSpiffs playthrough (since he completed it the fastest while being the most entertaining)
@@nessie7306 thank you that’s reassuring
@@reio4641 i think I’ll watch it in parallel too
I did that with Matpat's playthrough and RyeToast's videos.
At least until the second to last episode of their playthrough and I couldn't gave in to the impulses.
Watch the playthrough first if you want, you'll have a great time.
I loved the chip theory back then and this is really cool for it - baby's presence generally brings so many questions but the skin for the chip being the same feels good regardless
congrats your matpat
I love how dramatic each theory is, honestly. The intense music in the background makes these videos x1,000 better.
Nah bc Steel Wool made Monty dirty 💀
Fr tho 😭😭😭
As a Monty simp, I can confirm that is true
I agree with basically everything you said. I have to say that you're editing and scripting is getting much better, and I'm excited for new videos :)
What happened to John is he good? He just went mia
OMG the CHIP when you said this MY BRAIN JUST EXPLODED WAT WHAT- I can't help but panic
Great theory explained one thing I've been thinking about for hours and you make it make sense when I talk about the order of the graves.
I know that matpat likes to dismiss a lot of your theories to to conflicting evidence but the chip is the most undeniable thing that so many people have missed
7:30 i think its:
Crying child
Charolette (henry said in FNaF 6 this was his first wound)
Missing Ones (this was second he let bleed)
Elizabeth (the last victim)
Why do you look like Josh hucherson
You know why💀
Has anyone else noticed that when we fight the like cardboard spingtrap, to get the last plushie, and the whole carnival is burned around us, some of the burned picese of wood, are the same EXACT shape of the dead kids, in give gifts, give life.
At 7:52 of this video, the shape of the child in the middle, is the same shape you can see in the background of the cardboard springtrap fight.
Not sure if this is just an easter egg or what, but it has bugged me since the first playthrough I watched.
Hi John, John here. But what is a FNAF? Is it the bear animatronic himself, or is it actually the five nights?
The five nights lol
In the *books,* we dont know jack shit about it's story in the games yet, aside from several details that seem to contradict what the books say :V
>Help Wanteds mimic came from a circuit board.
3:48 is so cute
It shows how good of a friend Gregory is
It makes it a lot sadder when (SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
When cassie dies at the end of ruin
my jaw literally DROPPED a the chip reveal OMG that’s CRAZZZZYYYYY
And they're trying to murder you :V
And i'm pretty sure that's more "approval-seeking daughter", which is reinforced by the books.
She might see it as "well my dad killed kids so if I kill ppl too I might finally get his approval"
> The mimic is both the AI in the system AND the physical robot Cassie finds in the bottom of the pizzaplex, So Elizabeth could be in either or, or both
@@NebbyNebberson Do note:
From what we've seen, Remnant does NOT burn.
So Elizabeth would still exist, same for william which we met, Michael in the tapes, Cassidy in UCN and maybe Princess Quest, MCI in Blob, and Charlie unaccounted for, likely present still.
I dont think "wants to kill people" is exactly proof she's trying to BE William, especially when, again, the robot is the one purpose built to kill :V
And gaining approval doesnt really mean she's trying to be him, specifically. If he approves, she gets validated and a big hit of dopamine, she's already doing so well before she died apparently :V
Yes and no, Mimic and Glitchtrap are 100% separate characters, but made off the same baseline state of Mimic.
@@higueraft571 I wasn't saying any of what I said was true btw, I called it a reach from the beginning. It could be either way or something else, it's just a personal theory of mine. a GaMe tHEorY!
I really like how a lot of these theories have perfectly corresponded with the theories of matpat, suggesting that the answers are getting clearer and clearer since a lot of us are coming to the same conclusion!
Man combine both of mat pat and fuhnaf theory and it's perfect
You’re the G.O.A.T. John!! You seem to find things that can be easily overlooked. That chip is the major key!!
And now secrets of the mimic is going to exist next year. Crazy how stuff domes around in a nice little circle, huh.
so what just suddenly made sence. there are two stories in help wanted 2. one shows you williams perspective, the other shows henry's. the backwords from the way you would assume though.
sure the map bot ending might be the bad ending, but it also is probably the cannon ending, cuz cassie's dad turned into mask bot.
I’m that one ending you give the Glitchtrap plushy to moon and he brings it to Vanny, also there like this weird version of Moon in the claw machine, a PURPLE version-caugh caugh-Aftons signicher color-caugh caugh-…
The caracel ride with moon evenatual gets set on fire, but we’ve never actually seen a caracel in a fnaf game before, but there were talks of a new fnaf game realted to a carnival and ballons, so if MatPats theory related to Ruin is true and the mimic and the daycare attendants (and maybe Carni with maybe Henry) were one of Afton first creations maybe we will see them in this new talk of a fnaf game
Also idk how to REALLy word any of this I just thought of theory that might be important
Also love your vids
The baby chip being the mimic virus makes even more sense when you realize that Sister Location is present in Help Wanted 2
LET'S GOOOOO!!! Been waiting on the edge of my seat for this one
I SAW THAT CHIP IN THE MINIGAME AND I KNEW- I’m so glad that you found out about it too!!
I always loved that theory and I’m so glad that it’s looking like it’s correct (or at least, someone is listening to the community)
