Elizabeth line is awesome. Went on it first time a few weeks ago when coming back to London from overseas. Big trains, fast speed and so many new stations! Should be a great help moving many many people around London. Just what the city needed!
Now Shenfield to Heathrow non-stop. Back in 2002-2004, when I studied at Brentwood school as an international student, my typical trip to Heathrow was: Brentwood to Stratford on First Great Eastern class 315, Central Line to Mile End, District line to Baron's Court, Piccadilly to Heathrow. By this way, all transfers are co-platform. I could travel with bags without too much hassle. The cost was around, IIRC, 6.10 pounds on Travelcard with Young Person discount.
Years ago, 1980s, very few people used Maryland station. I think it had a train about every twenty minutes, so for most people it was quicker to walk to the main station at Stratford; it’s about a ten minute walk. Now, with a service every seven minutes, quite a lot of people are using the station. Hanwell is also seeing increased usage.
Just like when they did the Paddington - Abbey Wood route when Bond Street station's closed due to the engineers are building the new Elizabeth line station architecture
Seems nice and easy enough. Thank you for the video. Can anyone let me know exactly WHERE after you leave the train carriage before you can find a trolley for luggage please?
How comes that Elizabeth Line will not allow their trains to travel to Reading and only to Heathrow Terminal 4 and Terminal 5 to & from Shenfield. I don’t get it why they aren’t allowing some of their trains to go all the way to Reading.
Any non class 345s go thru the tunnel when the line is closed for maintenance/engineering work? Plus what will happen if a class 345 breaks down in the tunnel as it is 12 miles long [and if passengers can use the emergency walkway to transfer onto another train]? (The text in [ ] was not included when i first posted this comment)
I don’t think any non-345s would because the station doors are designed to fit them specifically. I’d assume there are special trains for recovery but I’m not too sure.
@@Ro99 thats why i said: when its 'closed for maintenance/engineering work' in the original comment. Ik that non class 345s do not go in the new tunnel sections under normal circumstances because of the platform edge doors (PED) and also possibly the signalling systems. If not, they have to treat it like driving on the roads and 'stop in the distance you see to be clear' but doing it for 12 miles at 10mph is a pain I also forgot to mention what will happen if the train breaks down and if passengers are able to use the emergency walkway (which i suppose is also used for maintenance) to move onto another train
@@annabelholland I guess an empty 345 goes in and parks next to the broken down one? Then I guess they get out walk along and go into the train. I think that’s what you mean.

Good to see this new metro line open fully in London, at last a common sense rail link to the airport for everyone ✌️♥🇬🇧 looks good
It’s not rlly a metro line but then again that can have different meanings
Nice bit of arcing in the tunnels from Stratford
One of the new fastest ways to go Liverpool Street from Stratford, only stops at Whitechapel.

Thanks so much for this video.
I just realised now you can go shenfield to Heathrow, they should do reading as well in future!!
49:45 Are we back to Phase 1 lol
Can you do some more videos on the Victoria and Piccadilly Lines? Maybe could you do an FPV from Walthamstow Central to Covent Garden via Kings Cross
Techandtrains101 is who you should go to if you want FPV journeys as X2K9 is no longer doing them
Who is that PA announcer at Shenfield platforms? Also now heard at Tottenham Hale NR

Too long maybe
Shenfield to reading is around 60+ miles I think
shenfield to reading is a really inefficient use of resources compared to abbey wood and nobody would ever take the whole journey.
Shame really.
Will there ever be a point in future when there will be services running between Reading and Shenfield on the Elizabeth Line? There ought to be, imo
I said this to others also. They cutting out half the work this company. Central Line go from one end to the other dunno why Elizabeth Line cba.
@@umarrahman1914 central line rarely goes from Hainault to West Ruislip. These are fixed timetabled routes
@@zacmirza6498 I meant Epping to West Ruislip. The loop thing is something else. But I wouldn't mind Epping via the Hainault loop one day.
What is the point when you can do it in half the time on a Greater Anglia/Lizzie/Great Western?
@@Ro99 Do what?
Why didn't it stop at Bond Street
Driver said evacuation and idk why
Your Heathrow Terminal 5 to Abbey Wood is not Fully HD its just 360p in case you not known.
bizarre that they don't stop at Hanwell
Please do a full journey from Shenfield to Paddington.
This was the journey from Shenfield to Paddington except it was continuing to Heathrow
Why is it skipping stations
Bond Street there was a problem but the stations out west are skipped for time saving I think
So it will stop at all stations as normal
@@Ro99Isn't that why Elizabeth Line trains are running express past those stations?
@@Gojira160 yeah all trains skip various stations west of Paddington except the ones to Terminal 4
Can you do the new Announcements bout the rubbish left on trains
What Time Did You Record This
how much did it cost for this journey
£25 off peak

Major problem for full distance NO toilets. Otherwise a good east to west service.
Elizabeth line has all the gaps because they didn't build the platforms probably
