I just purchased a 2017 CA Special hardtop last weekend. I've been driving a 1993 GT Fox body for the last 24 years. It's going in storage. This 2017 is a beast! Going from a 225hp GT to 435hp is insane.
I love how you completely disregard the engine break in procedure.
Thanks for this video. I have been looking for a video about the GT California Special because this is my favourite car.
This Mustang is amazing and I really want one!
Thank you for your video. I could hear you clearly, the wind noise is not that loud. But I have a CREATIVE 5.1 Live Soundcard with CREATIVE 2.0 Speakers, they do everything right.
This is my Favorite Mustang Model this video is awesome!!!!!
So I’m in a 2017 Mustang GT manual that came with 18k miles. I have never driven stick before, and this is the car I learned in. It’s been 30 days and the only big problem was day 1 learning how to actually move.
30 days later after a bunch of stalling as well, I can say I am competent at driving and am enjoying it a lot. Except for one thing that scares me.
When I shift into second from first, or into fourth from third, I am getting these strong vibrations that transfer into my hand. Shifting into first, third, fifth and sixth is buttery smooth and fine, but second and fourth vibrate very harshly. Today when I shifted into fourth the vibration was so violent it felt like the shift knob was slamming into my hand.
I was was talking to the person I got it from and they were annoyed to say the least. Told me that they can’t “baby” me forever and that this car takes many years of driving manual in order to drive it perfectly. Fair enough, I do keep bugging this person about little things that I don’t know, and I am only 30 days of experience with a manual.
They agreed to meet up with me tomorrow and see if they feel what I’m feeling. They told me that it sounds like I’m not shifting all the way, because they have never once felt what I’m feeling. Said that with this car that has a short stick, you can’t gently push into the next gear - you have to punch it. I have been avoiding punching in the gears because I watched some UA-cam videos that said banging your gears is absolutely unnecessary and causes wear and tear.
Could it really just be that I’m supposed to be slamming those gears in? Is there something wrong with my gears already or the transmission? The video I saw I think was of a Honda Civic type r manual and the guy showed how you just barely put force on the shift knob and it easily goes into gear. I don’t want to damage my car, so I have been gently shifting into gears - which first third fifth and sixth again are butter smooth but when shifting gently into second and fourth, I get the crazy vibration.
did you manage to figure out what the issue was
@@MilltoniusDoom I think I was rushing through the gears and when I got better at shifting it happened less. Also I got rid of that car years ago - I have a 2019 10 speed now. I got a lot better at driving the 6 speed and I miss it a lot
that mustang is wonderful
Could you please review the Camaro SS? Great video as always!!!
Damn that pony sounds so nice!
I want one
How can they call it a California Special without a light bar?
Great car! Unfortunately after yesterday where it was 76 here in southern Ohio, now its windy at about 38. Looks like convertible driving season is done! Speaking of mustangs, I stopped at our local dealer to get some parts yesterday and theres a new GT-350 (not an R) in the showroom. Sticker says $59k but theres a $10k markup over that. Crazy! Supply and demand in action I guess.
Yes, yesterday was a perfect day for this video :) It's raining and and 40 degrees here now lol.
I sold our GT350 at a $5K markup, 10 is a bit steep..
First of all before I start, I must admit, I forgot the driver's name. Oh, well. But to answer is question there really wasn't much difference that I could hear from the engine either top up or down. Love the car, be getting mine soon.
Do you have a barcode on the back of your head?
How much heavier is the convertible compared to the normal GT?
Does the standard comes with different drive modes?
Can you make a video of the mustang gt
So its awesome with the wind blowing on your baldy head is it big guy!
I to am a balding middle aged gunslinger and let me tell you buddy my hand beaten wig feels fantastic!!!!!!!
So as far as air noise, when the top is up, is the air noise bad at all? How does it stack up to its regular coupe counterpart? I've never driven a convertible so Im not sure
It's very hard to tell what the wind noise is really like from a video played on a computer. Having said that, the convertible will never be as quiet as the hard top is. I don't know about the Mustang specifically, but the two convertibles I've owned before weren't that bad as far as I was concerned at the time but they definitely weren't as quiet as a car with a solid top over your head. As long as you understand that and are willing to put up with a bit more wind and road noise, I think you'll enjoy the car. Otherwise, the rag top probably isn't for you. You might be able to arrange a test drive somewhere along the way.
Do you live in moon, pa? Because I just now notice you passed my house😂😂
No I work in Moon :)
Oh ok.
i don't know what it is about the new mustangs, but I don't really like them that much. i drove my friend's, and it just didn't feel as comfortable as the last generation. i like the looks of the interior better, but not big guy friendly. lol, guess I should lose some weight, or stick to my 2013, or get a challenger. what do you think about the comfortability compared to the last generation?
I guess everything is relative but to me the new ones are more comfortable
I own a 14 GT Premium and my girlfriend owns a 15 Ecoboost Premium. I am 6'-2" 255lbs with a 37" waist. I can tell you that I enter and exit my 14 easier than the 15. The roofline is about 1.5" shorter in the 15 and I notice it every time I get in the drivers seat. I really wish the would have made the seat able to go lower about an inch or two. I feel I have to recline too much to have my eye-line in the upper mid point of the wind shield. Where I like it and can achieve in my 14. I also see more of the hood in the 15 because of its design. It gives me the illusion that there is more front end swinging around when I make turns. It kinda feels like I am driving from the back seat. I even took out a tape measure and measured from the seat to the rear axle to make sure they were the same on both cars. It is definitely a different driving experience if you are coming from an s197 model. But the best thing about the 15, is that I can throw it around a traffic circle/roundabout quite a bit harder than with my 14. The suspension in the 15 is just much more composed than in my 14 with the live axle. It is a very noticeable difference. The wild mustang the car used to be has been tamed and is now a reliable steed. Personally, I will be waiting for the 2018 mid cycle refresh before I consider the S550. Go out and give one a test drive. There are plenty of used ones out there too now.
wow this is my dream car cheeperst sport car
If that MUSTANG is equipped with a LAUNCH CONTROL, I will personally drive over to you and buy it off your hands.
Of course it has :) When will you be here ? ;)
AutoVlog As soon, as I hit the lottery jackpot here in Austria. Which driver assist functions does it have? Like lane keeping aid or adaptive cruise control? Many greetings from Austria.
Just need to hit the lottery jackpot here in Austria!

A convertible mustang????
What axle ratio in this particular car?
3:55
Thanks. Seems to wind uo pretty quick, so I thought 3:55 or 3:73's
How many speakers does your Shaker Pro have?
Paul Stevenson it has 12 speakers. I believe it has a sub too. Not sure the size.
Gold
Thankyou
what state are you in
PA
You have the mikeaphone to close to your mouth
How much??
$47K sticker price
This has got to be the dumbest set up for a Mustang. For the price you pay for a convertible with the California package, 400a package, and automatic transmisson yoj could be getting a base GT with the performance package, a manual, aftermarket quad exhausts, and a list of other mods or a base GT350.
A base GT350 costs 75k here in Canada. A fully loaded Gt premium with performance package is around 51k...
I'm not talking about Canada though. Any fully loaded convertible Mustang with an Automatic Transmission is the most stupid way to go.
its quite af
those wheels are ugly
God I wish Ford would change the huge ass steering wheel that plagues all the new age Mustangs!
Why would anyone buy a convertible sports/muscle car lol. Such a waste
Jon Mitchell haha I agree. I just have a regular mustang
I own a fastback (hard top) and a convertible is awesome. A bit heavier sure, but it's the driving experience. A lot of fun.
Jimmy870 ya I bet it's a lot of fun. Especially if you live in Florida because some beaches allow you to drive your car on the beach. For me personally I wouldn't get a convertible for a sports car
I do not like convertible at all but I can understand for a woman or an older man who isn't into speed and lives in southern climate.
You'd have the Best of both worlds. Speed and a drop top. Looks hot. And having a second muscle car that is not a convertible is even better*
Those wheels are awful
