The Gathering Place is so much better than these other places !!!! I have been there twice in the last two years on vacation from out east and won't go to any other place when in Pie Town !!!
I just found that town because of a meme, then I Googled it, found that place on the map, saw a picture where they mention this specific episode of the program and now I'm here, wishing to eat a slice of pie. Hope you the best from Monterrey Mexico
I love pies. Two favorites are pecan pie heated with vanilla ice cream or a coconut cream pie with a lot if whip cream. A close second is a double crusted raspberry pie. Least favorite is a lemon cream pie.
My girlfriend and I took the local roads from Ruidoso, NM towards Sedona, AZ passing through Pie Town. Yes it's in the middle of NOWHERE and we didn't stop for pie (dang it, we should have). Maybe on our next drive from Ruidoso to Sedona, we'll stop.
Unfortunately the Pie-O-Neer has fallen victim to the coronavirus economic downturn. Kathy has been forced to close the business. Still, a great story.
I LOVE pie. Always have. At first, it was my Mom's pecan pie, with just a hint of Baker's chocolate. Then came rhubarb pie. Then rhubarb and strawberry pie. Then blackberry pie. Then peach pie, Apple pie, cherry pie. The list just goes on and on. Pie, any kind of pie, served slightly warm, with vanilla bean ice cream, that is slowly melting over the pie, can solve the problems of the world. If the President, at his next summit at Camp David, served the foreign dignitaries pie, and either a glass of ice cold whole milk, a cup of incredible coffee, or BOTH, the problems that encumber the planet would be melted away with something as simple as a piece of pie. Unfortunately, I don't think that Kim Jung Il would like pie. Unfortunate.

I found this little town in a cross-country road trip. Great pie, and just fun to find in an unexpected place 😋
New Mexico grows some if the best apples around. Wish I could visit here. Hopefully someday I will.
