How about The Great Khali aka Dalip Singh... He was a bodybuilder before he turned to professional wrestling..He weighs over 400lbs and stands over 7 foot tall
Yes. When saw the title of this video. He was one of the people (The Great Khali), I thought of of. From what I have read. He did pretty well, for someone his height.
Muller's conditioning would absolutely hammer a lot of guys from the last 10 years on stage. He may not pack as much muscle on his frame, but you can see cuts and striations everywhere.
Height has a few factors: 1. Pound for pound muscle required to fill out. 2. Bone proportions (often very tall people have worse shoulder to waist ratios, etc). 3. Muscle insertions and so forth will also vary (goes back to 1. as it would take a LOT more muscle to get good leg density for example). Overall 5'10/5'11 seems like the sweet spot for proportions, muscle acquisition and so forth. It also helps that there are more people in the 5'8-6'2 region in terms of population, which means more samples of good genetics get found in that height range, whilst being really short or tall is already rare and then on top of that you need to be lucky with good genetics. Laws of averages and all that.

Idk man... that dude's proportions are way off. I hate to devalue his accomplishment, but it really seems like it might have been a PC publicity type of victory to get a sport that is struggling right now some attention.
Abdurrahman Jilani Most of the time really tall or 5’11” & above guys are disproportioned, discombobulated, and at times even goofy looking. Weather it be arms & legs too long relative to their height or from being so tall, too much of a big nose for their face, legs too naturally skinny, most of the time their face/body ain’t well balanced. Truthfully l’d say 5’0”-5’10/5’11” men naturally have better frames for bodybuilding , fitness, or aesthetics. So tall goof-balls can say what they want , the facts don’t lie when it comes to overall competition placements of 5’11” & under.
@@GorgeousBabyBlueWater competition wise obviously I would say being under 5"11 is great ! But as a male ... 6 is perfect... outside bodybuilding.. modelling industry prefers men who are 6 and above... being tall doesn't mean you're facial features or nose is disproportionate... dunno where u got that from... I ly Cases in which that happens is medical problems like acromegaly and stuff... when you think of an alpha male... do u think of a short guy or a tall guy .. let's be real.. anyways... end of the day.. height only matters in what you make of it.... as long as you're in the normal range of 5"6-6"4 depending on where you are in the world it's all good... if you're not tall then you can compensate that by having a great face... personality... job lifestyle.. etc
Ok so if bodybuilders are of equal caliber, the tall one has a definite advantage... But many shorter bodybuilders have superior physiques that often go underappreciated... I would have loved to have seen Danny Padilla and Mohammed Makkawy win the Olympia...

@@kalitoonz6435 hahaha true dat! Don't forget Tom Platz as well. OP who exactly were you thinking of when you made this comment?
Franco Columbu ( RIP ) , a great bodybuilder and powerlifter , was not 5 foot 5 , he was 5 foot 3.5 inch tall. The great Khali competed in India as a bodybuilder , he is the tallest amateur bodybuilder
The last time I was this early Kai Greene used to compete
Hey Nick! I want you to make a video about this guy named Murali Kumar, an Indian bodybuilder a definite mass monster.
Cheers!
Nick how tall is Arnold? I swear no one knows exactly, but I do not believe he was 6’2
Back then he was 6'2 for sure
Yeah I think maybe when he was young, and in the right boots, 6'2". Otherwise I think he was closer to 6'0" maybe 6'0.5"?
Nicks strength & Pumping out videos like theres no tomorrow
Idk man... that dude's proportions are way off. I hate to devalue his accomplishment, but it really seems like it might have been a PC publicity type of victory to get a sport that is struggling right now some attention.
You know... I looked the field of competition and honestly I might be wrong about that snap judgement.
I missed these kind of videos! Keep it up!
175 cm is best height.exmple Mike mentzer👍
Only shorty's say so.. ideal is always 6ft..
@@abdu_jilani it's just a perspective, you say 6ft as american, we in Europe consider the best height to be 180cm (shoul be 5'11 if i'm not wrong).
I ly Cases in which that happens is medical problems like acromegaly and stuff... when you think of an alpha male... do u think of a short guy or a tall guy .. let's be real.. anyways... end of the day.. height only matters in what you make of it.... as long as you're in the normal range of 5"6-6"4 depending on where you are in the world it's all good... if you're not tall then you can compensate that by having a great face... personality... job lifestyle.. etc
Old school British bodybuilder Selwyn Cottrell was about 6' 5" but carried a lot of muscle.
Ok so if bodybuilders are of equal caliber, the tall one has a definite advantage... But many shorter bodybuilders have superior physiques that often go underappreciated... I would have loved to have seen Danny Padilla and Mohammed Makkawy win the Olympia...
I refuse to miss a 12am upload from nick
I the best of both worlds I'm medium
Yeah, I guess you fit in everywhere. I think beyond 6' 1" people start hitting their heads on stuff; below 5' 7" people start patting your head.
I think 6’0 or 5’11 is perfect because you can pack on some real muscle while still not being seen as short by women
Subscribers are climbing congrats
Great video
I had never heard of some of these guys
The flow of taller guys generally looks better.
Finally good ol' Nick is back!!
The next video will be titled "Could the a 4ft5in guy compete as a pro bodybuilder"?
Ralf Moeller was 6'7". In some magazines he was said to be 6'8".
Lol if she says "size doesn't matter" she's trying to spare your feelings.
Incog cheeto, if he tells her she is the most beautiful woman, he is trying to spare her feeling too. Wouldn't u agreed?
@@DavidDavid-yz2sh well ya. But you're telling her what she wants to hear to make her feel good. Guys, on the other hand, know better. If you're sporting 4 inches and she says "size doesn't matter" you know she's lying.
It doesn't matter as long as its between 5-9 inches lol
@@asura8495 lol I'd day 6 or more. 5 and below, you're fucked.
@@incogcheeto9322, that's why they end up alone single and wasted, it's happening literally as we speak now. I had never had an issue with size, it's the skill son. Yet again wats the point when one is not hard and wobbly like a snake? Lol had witness lots of wife eating out while thier hubbys wobbly. Jokes aside.
I love the historical videos! But they make me feel so old 😂 thank you for all your hard work with your videos!
The only people who say “size doesn’t matter” are people with no size
whatever helps you sleep
Ralph Moller had an amazing and desirable physique. He's one of my favourites actually, because he looked good, didn't have a bubble gut, and was a really nice guy.
Me a short teen watching this : *Yes. There is still hope !*
Hey I love your vids Nick, little it's stories and facts like this that gravitate me to your channel.
They might have the title for tallest and shortest bodybuilders ever but I still retain my record as being the best bodybuilder to have the least amount of muscle ever 😁😀😋
Great content as always! The only negative for us metric unit users is, that we dont get all anything of the comparisons.
Would be great if you put the metric units as subtitles og text when you mention the measurements.
When you're so early that there's only 18 comments 😅
Another great video . Awesome research bro .
"Length doesn't matter" that's *not* what she said...
Awesome channel, glad you've almost hit 1 mil subs
Keep it up Nick love the nostalgia videos
Ralf Moeller's now an actor, he was in Universal Soldier and was the huge dude in Gladiator
Love these kinds of videos nick
nick pumping out them videos as of late. keep grinding brotha
From a statistical or probability standpoint, height matters but obviously there are outliers as pointed out here in which it did not matter.
Great uploads lately
Videos like these is what made me subscribe to your channel before.
YOU JUST MADE THE VIDEO I REALLY WANTED !!!
Great video man
Nick you have a very good knowledge about bodybuilding.
