Alright, folks, here's how Overdrive works. So when you activate overdrive all your arts go in a frenzy, better cooldowns, tertiary bonus, blahblahblah. Whatever. What you need to know is that Offensive Arts (Orange/Yellow) are one way lanes. Once you choose that art color, only arts of that same color will rack up your counter, UNLESS you use a Support Art (Green/Purple/Blue) which allow you to Segway back and forth between Orange and Yellow. Another cool effect of Support Arts is they also add 0.1*(OD Counter) seconds to your overdrive time. This means, if you can rack up a bunch of hits really fast, then use different support arts, then rack up more hits, etc. you can extend your Overdrive time to infinity and beyond. What will help you do that successfully is knowing that using Green arts will restore health, Blue will double the amount of hits you rack up (Very important) and Purple will give you 10*(OD Counter) TP (VERY IMPORTANT). Good luck, and Godspeed.
Yeah that's all great except I have no idea how TP works and......yeah I dont get most of this stuff. Xeno X was always the hardest game to grasp even fundamentally. I dont think the game teaches you very well how it works
@@stormcutter59 That's literally the easiest thing to grasp. Just switch out TP for MP (mana points if you didn't know). If arts are your heavy attacks, then TP arts are your magic attack. You gain TP by doing auto attacks or using certain arts in a certain fashion. Two examples. The dual wield guns have a move called primer. A very basic way to build TP. It gives you 200 TP per use. If you use the secondary cooldown, you get to immediately reuse it. So that's 400 TP all at once. Its especially useful for overdrive, where cooldowns and secondary cooldowns are much shorter. Plus, during overdrive, you have a tertiary cooldown. So that's 2 immediate reuses. 600 TP. Another TP gain art is Zero Zero. An art you unlock for your character after doing an affinity quest for Celica. If you use an art that is executed with a melee weapon, you start a melee combo. If you use Zero Zero during a melee combo, you get a set amount of TP depending on how much you've leveled it up PER HIT. It also hits alot of times all at once. So that's big TP. I get that this is a little more than your typical 'press A to win' game. Yes, it's a little overwhelming at first, but trust me, once you learn the basics, everthing else is not that hard to understand. It's like riding a bike. Once you get the hang of it, you never forget.

The point of Zero Zero is to quickly max out the overdrive guage not really to gain tp since it gives +20 to the overdrive guage when you use it after a green art. You shouldn't be using Zero Zero after maxing out the overdrive count anyways so the tp gain is negligible.
Chaosloki You get up to 500 TP with Zero Zero so it's good in that sense, though I do agree that once you've gotten max overdrive it's pretty negligible. I just figured that if you're building up your gauge and don't have max TP, might as well use ZZ

Anayos I know I’m late, but I disagree. If anything, Uncontrollable sounds more like an opening due to its typical hard rock nature. Wir Fliegen sounds more like something you’d hear in a battle between two rivals.
+iLikeKFC You can it's just more work than it's worth. So instead of augmenting for more damage you augment defensively so you don't die instantly. So you have to spend more time on augments and battles take longer.
+iLikeKFC You can just kill Lugalbana and Dadaan to get reflect: beam, thermal, and electric augments, wear a chestpiece with reflect: ether and an armor set with 100-120 gravity resistance, and use Supershield. Once you beat Pharsis you can get reflect: gravity, but she's not easy like those two bosses. For non-superbosses like Gravidus, either sleep or topple locking can work too (you'll need some Resistance Reducer XX augments plus knowledge of how to prevent the debuff level from increasing so you can't apply it any more), and Virus can potentially make a seriously big impact on fights in some cases.
Reflect makes you completely immune to that element while using any of the (very few) arts in the game that give reflect to another element. Supershield, Raijin, and Astrolibrium are the only ground arts that give reflect, each to one element naturally, and you can become all but invincible if you reflect all six. There are a TINY number of attacks (Pharsis' Dark Ray is one) that bypass reflect, but you can just fully resist that one element and reflect all the others, or kill her before she can use it. (It's never used before she's half dead.) Reflect also blocks spike damage of that element, but it doesn't stop your own attacks from being reflected back at you. Negate Reflect XX augments are easy to make, though.

+Yan Wang I'm using the same strategy and almost all same stuff but it does really works I still need some anguments but even without the potential anguments and Art gain TP anguments I still doing that pretty cool

Can someone explain how to make this build? Do you need to max out FMJ and the other class with the katanas/longswords? Been a while since I played and I wanna try this out for myself, so someone explain how I should go about making this build
I really wanted to get into endgame, kill huge bosses and all... however.. The amount of time you'd have to put into farming and optimizing doesn't seem like fun, and the reward would to kill big monsters... But to be honest I think I'm getting close to "done" with this game now, 90 hours in.
Yeah I haven't played since my 110 hour mark now, and to be honest, it's a god damn fine game! Though endgame feels way too much like a MMORPG, and I know for a fact that I would continue to play this if I just could play directly with my friends instead of just having their avatar which feels just like any other NPC.I mean xenoblade really have potential as a future nintendo MMORPG in my eyes, and I'd love to see that happen.

Robert Tassi You mean your clothing? You do that by going to ground gear and pressing X. That'll bring up a sub-menu where you press 'Change Fashion Gear'. There you can can change you change to a more fashionable gear without affecting your stats.
Ghostwalker's decoy blocks a certain number of hits. He has a few attacks that do a lot of hits and burn through your entire decoy. The trick is to use decoy while he's using those (the lightning one is usually easy to spot since he starts shaking). You're invulnerable during the casting of Ghostwalker and the decoy buff with the number of hits it blocks starts at the end of the animation so you want to be in the Ghostwalker animation while he's using those multi hit attacks.
Oh all right thanks!!! yeah a few days ago I learned that Ghostwalker doesnt only last for the time and that somehow hits couldn't overcome it, but thanks you got the real explanation here! Also I finally took down gravidus going ghostwalker more quickly because for the global nemesis telethia plume, I was always going , Tornado Blade, Blossom Dance, Rising Blade, True Stream Edge, Tornado Blade, Rising Blade and blossom dance again before gonig back to ghostwalker, offensive stance and primer (that combo allowed me to always do 2 blossom dance with both the tertiary cooldown maxed out. I was always trying that with gravidus since I could do the eight minute without probleme with nemesis but looks like that combos was too long and decoy was taken down during that too long combos. thanks again for the explanation man!
It would be nice if people had the courtesy of putting down what armour, weapons, arts, skills, etc on the description when fighting tyrants and bosses.
Is ghostwalker a standard support art you can get from the Full Metal Jaguar class? Does does it need to be unlocked through a heart 2 heart/affinity mission?
+SoloVerse Ghostwalker is just a regular art gotten through dual guns in the FMJ class line yes. There's another decoy skill called Ghost Factory that you get in an affinity mission but it requires TP to use and creates a lower level decoy in exchange for giving the effect to your party members as well. Ghostwalker is all you need if you're soloing though.
Most people stick with ghost walker anyway. TP is very important in overdrive builds like this. Don't want to use an art that you constantly use and lose tons of TP from.
Green and blue arts extend the overdrive time. Things like ghost walker and offensive stance. He's also using skills that extend overdrive from the full metal jaguar class. Also when you hit 3000TP you can fully replenish your overdrive by hitting the overdrive button in the middle again. One last thing is that, when your overdrive count gets higher, blue and green arts give more overdrive time, and when you hit maximum overdrive its practically impossible to not lose overdrive because of how much you will constantly regain.
I've tried to beat this guy 100x with the blossom dance build using all the augments and gear from your Blossom Dance Build Guide video. No luck. I'm amazed at how so man people manage to do this. He stomps through my Ghostwalker every time and kills me. So I used Shield/Dual guns with a mix of reflect and ghostwalker, cake walk...
+J racachot When you fully master a class line you can use their weapons in any other class. IE If you master full metal jaguar you can use dual guns and dual swords as any class.
+Chaosloki I'm curious... what about arts? I'm doing a infinite overdrive build as a FMJ with dual blades/guns and picked out a good set of arts: Ghostwalker, Primer, Blood Sacrifice, Zero Zero, Sliding Slinger, and Stream Edge, but I want to have Offensive Stance for my final art. Do I have to max out the Duelist class to have it available to me?
This fucker hits me through my ghost walker/ghost factory with no problem somehow. Kills me without warning. Is it spike? I have ether reflect nullify xx... Is it reflect? I can switch that with something else maybe. I'm definitely using ghostwalker often too. Maybe even too often.
It's not about blindly spamming ghostwalker since that'll get you killed pretty often. Ghostwalker's decoy blocks a certain number of hits. He has a few attacks that do a lot of hits and burn through your entire decoy. The trick is to use decoy while he's using those (the lightning one is usually easy to spot since he starts shaking). You're invulnerable during the casting of Ghostwalker and the decoy buff with the number of hits it blocks starts at the end of the animation so you want to be in the Ghostwalker animation while he's using those multi hit attacks
im a full metal jaguar and im been making a hard work to my built but i cant kill him xD im like 960 total melee att, potencial 300, evasion 234 (does this works? or i better use more potential augments), accuaracy 420. i though i was doing it right but take to long to kill him and then he smash me, any sugestion? D:
I don't understand why I can't beat this guy, I'm using a nearly identical setup to yours (it just uses Photon Saber, with basically matching arts past that), but even despite perfect Ghostwalker upkeepe he still kills me somehow. I don't get it.
Sanic Fast the augments aren't even what matters; I have Arts TP gain XX x3 and several on-armor max TP Up traits. The only thing I don't have that this build does is all the damage/potential up augments. That shouldn't stop me from using this though, as I should still be just as invincible as the player here, but it would just take longer (which is fine). But somehow he just hits quick enough for me to hit through ghostwalker.
+HyperLuigi Oh, know I know what you mean. Quick tip: If you have the same skill as him that reduces cooldown by 50% when triggering a melee combo, just always use an orange art before using ghost walker. Reduces cooldown by lots. Also, make sure you wait for "Decoy" to pop up above your head when using ghost walker before using another art, because if you don't ghost walker wont have any affect at all.
Sanic Fast Yes, the build literally does not work without Fast Forward. I definitely have that, and always use a melee art before Ghostwalker. Also, yes I always make sure I have the buff before hitting Overdrive (because that's the only thing that can cancel it). But as I said, despite perfect upkeep, he still punches through it. Like he can attack enough times to deplete its forced misses before you can renew it (and he's one of the only ones that can do it when it only has half cooldown in Overdrive).
If you use driver combos and chain attacks in XC2, enemies HP can go very quick. It only takes me a minute to beat Cloud Sea King Ken with one Supernova, plus a couple of Burst Symbols for the chain attack. Of course, the upgraded Cloud Sea King Ken in Challenge Mode with 50 million HP takes about 10 minutes for me to beat.
For some reason early game battles in 2 took forever. My guess is that the developers expected you to make good use of all equips and items early on which is unlikely for new players to do.
You can beat gravidus with dual swords/Guns with your class? I try it with 540 potential and the damage is nice But all the times he shots me after i can use again ghost walker... So You can try it and do a video if you want?? Thanks
+Galvis 16 I think it was because I double tapped OC and the music glitched. When I was watching over the recording I was confused as to why the OC music wasn't playing as well.
It's called bewitched glaive receding rust. One of 6 unique longswords dropped by tyrants. That particular one is dropped by lugalbanda the wanderer king. A level 88 tyrant in noctilums vitrol cesspool in a very easily missable side area inaccessible by skells so it must fought on foot. And it only appears after clearing the story.
I don't know how its working for you, but not for me. I do essentially the same thing. 2ish skills, refresh Ghostwalker. 2ish, refresh. 2ish, refresh. Eventually it just stops registering my Walker or something. I'm not cancelling with Overdrive, it just ends up eating through my buff before I have time for another.
+LostSoldier20 Yeah, the flurry of electric or ether attacks really eats up your shadows. The best thing I've found is to alternate between green and yellow/orange at the beginning to rack up count quickly. It'll keep your cooldowns fast. And 2-3 seconds before Ghostwalker is available, pop a melee hit so that the cooldown is halved for Ghostwalker (seems obvious, but I had to learn the hard way).
Max Spike Yeah I got him down. I'd go Rising>OD>Ghost>2 attacks to boost OD>Ghost>repeat til max then do primer>Offensive>Rising>Blossom>Ghost and repeat indefinite. There were just times where I felt like my Ghost just didn't apply. Sometimes it'd be during the topple tail swipe I'd apply Ghost, the buff notification would appear, then the first barrage attack after he'd break it. Typically my ghost would survive a Meteor and half an Ether barrage before failing, but those other times it'd just poof. I feel like my running under him to kill the Gerrid spawns before they could attack has a chance to end Ghost instantly, but that sounds too dumb to be true.
+LostSoldier20 I had a streak of early early deaths until I realized that Ghostwalker doesn't actually process until after the tedious animation. I was popping OD to skip the animation, but it actually skips the effect, too, lol.
Max Spike Yeah I learned that pretty early on. I think I even learned it from Yggdralith runs. I quickly learned to boost after offensive stance, if the bonus time from Green>Blue wasn't enough. Offensive applies immediately, so that was the perfect time to abuse animation skips.

It would be nice if people had the courtesy of putting down what armour, weapons, arts, skills, etc on the description when fighting tyrants and bosses.
ua-cam.com/video/d-0jssqB98A/v-deo.html
that bikini doe >:D
also i wish i could do this :(
Are you stacking, any resistance reducer in this fight... or don't you need them with the blossom dance build?
Beat gradivus just now. I feel accomplished
Chaosloki Awesome, is Ghostwalker still useable if you're coming in with a full team though? Not sure if I can go the extra mile to get Ghost Factory.
Most people stick with ghost walker anyway. TP is very important in overdrive builds like this. Don't want to use an art that you constantly use and lose tons of TP from.
Patrick Harris
Yeah I kinda figured TP consuming arts may affect how long you can maintain overdrive, thanks!
unless it's the Jedi build
how can u maintain the clock bar up, as much as i try it always goes down ending my overdrvie :/
Green and blue arts extend the overdrive time. Things like ghost walker and offensive stance. He's also using skills that extend overdrive from the full metal jaguar class. Also when you hit 3000TP you can fully replenish your overdrive by hitting the overdrive button in the middle again. One last thing is that, when your overdrive count gets higher, blue and green arts give more overdrive time, and when you hit maximum overdrive its practically impossible to not lose overdrive because of how much you will constantly regain.
ok ty kindly friend :)
Hiya friend awesome demonstration. Can you please tell me where you get Katanas?
+enyceiceberg It's shown in here: ua-cam.com/video/d-0jssqB98A/v-deo.html
How did you make it so the song Uncontrollable still plays even in overdrive?
I've tried to beat this guy 100x with the blossom dance build using all the augments and gear from your Blossom Dance Build Guide video. No luck. I'm amazed at how so man people manage to do this. He stomps through my Ghostwalker every time and kills me. So I used Shield/Dual guns with a mix of reflect and ghostwalker, cake walk...
Wait I'm new to xenoblade x how do you have duel guns and a single sword is it something I'm missing?
+J racachot When you fully master a class line you can use their weapons in any other class. IE If you master full metal jaguar you can use dual guns and dual swords as any class.
+Chaosloki I'm curious... what about arts? I'm doing a infinite overdrive build as a FMJ with dual blades/guns and picked out a good set of arts: Ghostwalker, Primer, Blood Sacrifice, Zero Zero, Sliding Slinger, and Stream Edge, but I want to have Offensive Stance for my final art.
Do I have to max out the Duelist class to have it available to me?
+Chaosloki thanks a bunch! 👍🏻👍🏻
+Tennaki Arts are tied to the weapon. You cannot use Longsword arts if you're using dual blades.
+Chaosloki Ah, thank you for clearing that up. I'll stick to Killing Machine then!
Chaosloki wow. Mechanics I had no idea about. so it's similar to that one dodge roll art?
BioVirulent
Yup yup. As the animation plays, you'll be invincible. But once it's over, you're vulnerable again.
How long does it take to grind for all of the necessary augments?
im a full metal jaguar and im been making a hard work to my built but i cant kill him xD im like 960 total melee att, potencial 300, evasion 234 (does this works? or i better use more potential augments), accuaracy 420. i though i was doing it right but take to long to kill him and then he smash me, any sugestion? D:
So better use more potential augments instead of evasion? Ill try that!
I don't understand why I can't beat this guy, I'm using a nearly identical setup to yours (it just uses Photon Saber, with basically matching arts past that), but even despite perfect Ghostwalker upkeepe he still kills me somehow. I don't get it.
+HyperLuigi You using all the same augments?
+HyperLuigi Well, I don't really know. I haven't had that problem.
100,000,000 HP? Still a shorter battle than a regular enemy in Xenoblade Chronicles 2
True dat
If you use driver combos and chain attacks in XC2, enemies HP can go very quick. It only takes me a minute to beat Cloud Sea King Ken with one Supernova, plus a couple of Burst Symbols for the chain attack.
Of course, the upgraded Cloud Sea King Ken in Challenge Mode with 50 million HP takes about 10 minutes for me to beat.
For some reason early game battles in 2 took forever. My guess is that the developers expected you to make good use of all equips and items early on which is unlikely for new players to do.
How did Wir Fligen not play?
What equipment and class are you?
OMG we have THE same Cross design!!!
You can beat gravidus with dual swords/Guns with your class?
I try it with 540 potential and the damage is nice
But all the times he shots me after i can use again ghost walker...
So You can try it and do a video if you want??
Thanks
*before
wait... why is Uncontrollable playing in Overdrive and not Wir Fliegen. Did you just edit that in or is that an actual thing?
I'm assuming the OD Activation was timed with the first Auto-Attack so some kind of glitch happened to prevent Wir Fliegen from playing.
Why wasn't Wir fliegen playing when you activated the O.C. gear?
+Galvis 16 I think it was because I double tapped OC and the music glitched. When I was watching over the recording I was confused as to why the OC music wasn't playing as well.
How did you get ghostwalker to have half its cooldown covered without utilizing ranged combos?
The skill fast forward does this when you use an art after a melee art.
Me wondering how to get the Sword they have
It's called bewitched glaive receding rust. One of 6 unique longswords dropped by tyrants. That particular one is dropped by lugalbanda the wanderer king. A level 88 tyrant in noctilums vitrol cesspool in a very easily missable side area inaccessible by skells so it must fought on foot. And it only appears after clearing the story.
why did you not focus the camera angle to furthest as you could?
is this the beach episode?
How do you keep your overdrive going for so long?
Edit: is it from going from red to green then yellow green red?
+ratchet2259 Green and Blue arts extend overdrive time. Or you can use 3000 TP to overdrive again while in overdrive.
Chaosloki
Thank you
Parasite: So I've chosen death
How did you bug the game to hear the song of the tyrants and not the overdrive song
They Overdrived (Overdrove?) before the tyrant music began.
Dude how the hell do u build this? Please share. That was insane!
+LostSoldier20 And moment I make the comment I get a run where I do 80mil before getting launched... Welp..
Max Spike
Yeah I got him down.
Max Spike
Yeah I learned that pretty early on. I think I even learned it from Yggdralith runs. I quickly learned to boost after offensive stance, if the bonus time from Green>Blue wasn't enough. Offensive applies immediately, so that was the perfect time to abuse animation skips.
how did you get zero zero to hit?
Hiw is that posible?
your character's voice....is it the same voice actor as shion uzuki from xenosaga??
Of course a video of a guy pushing a game to the abolute max Dark Souls style, does it in a bikini, of course.
what are the skills you're using?
Ghost walker
@@sownheard my guy this was 4 years ago. Lmao
game code limits the overdrive damage displayed to 99999999....
*puts in enemy with more health*
my characters where near this badass 😢
I'm a noob at this game because I just started it and at the beginning yet so I still have to figure things out in here XD
Everytime I do ghostwalker, he still hits me. HALP
Hyperknight757 I have it at max already.
So once you master overdrive, is there any point of a skell in battle anymore?
Yeah life
+Travey Duck Unless you want to skip the battle, you ain't going to beat the Endbringer with Overdrive on foot.
+HeliosVenomMage64 look up zipzo
Nestor Breban III You do know he had to use a Skell to bring the Endbringer down, right?
***** Are you really going to say he didn't do it on ground because of that one thing? Cause if you are than you're definitely stupid
how come you do so much damage? i master overdrive and i do 1/2 your damage.
I feel like he has multiple melee attack up XX's or something.
***** oh
Jackson Guerrieri if you use bewitched glaive, use weapon attack power up instead.
DBZSuperFan ok thanks
Get max potential ups x6
Build?
wow
Are you Enel?!?
But overclock is an aura that makes skells generate fuel faster.
+Eric Estrada its the mechs
Eric Estrada rip my ability to read internet sarcasm lol
Which class is this? I'm guessing Galactic Knight?
Chuckle Duckle no it's not
NANI!?
are you invincible at 100.00 resistance?
You take 1 damage if you have 100 resistance but alot of tyrants ignore it
Killed the headless emperor 169 times so far
LIMIT OVER ACCEL OVERDRIVE
How the fuck did you do that
I have the damage to beat this guy but every time I fight him he spams the multi hit moves
+Firon149 That's why you spam Ghostwalker :D, plus it adds to your overdrive count since its a green art.
I can ... I can do 5000 damage ;_; ...
+strange guru One of thr first times I used Overdrive, I died 1 second after activating it, thus dealing 0 damage. What a let down
What... the fuck?
Why was she wearing only her underwear and bra?
It's a bikini outfit and she's at the beach
Can You help me? Im level 60 and I'm very weak, I cannot even defeat some level 50 tirants 😟
What weapons and armor are you using? And how do you get it?
Hiw is that posible?
