I’m so glad epic movies like these are still being made,
Edit: I’ve just come out of the theatre after having seen the movie, and I can confirm that, it is, in fact… epic.
What is "epic" about it?
Clearly you didn’t watch the magnum opus of 2007 known as “Epic Movie” SMH. The format has been maximized, nothing left to achieve.
Just so y'all won't watch them
@@EMPERORSPROTECTION-TERRA4LIFE The epic genre, knucklehead
The prosthetic nose tho
It seems Bradley Cooper has found the role of his life. To be frank, I didn't recognize him. He changed his look, his voice, his speech, his physicality. That's more than just acting technique. It's art.
acting is art
@@AmorfatiartI think you mean *is not or *isn't.
He's an actor. It's his job to be someone else. A few years ago he was a sniper in a war movie.
People said this five years ago when he was in a Star Is Born, we get it the man can act😅
Well yes. He's an actor. But it's a different thing to create a fictional character or a legend, who actually lived. Its different task and technique. @@n00bspanker
Carey Mulligan is one of the finest actresses today. She has created beautiful & fascinating characters for years now. Even in this preview, it is clear her acting skills are vast & deeply effective. I hope she continues to receive more recognition, more praise & more roles. She deserves all of this & more.
She is one of my favorite actors.
One of my favourite actress not just working today but maybe all time, simply brilliant. It's amazing how far she has become since Pride & Prejudice
Bradley Cooper has always said that Daniel Day-Lewis is his greatest reference in acting. I see Cooper's performance where he changes not only his appearance, but also his tone of voice and movements and without a doubt he sees that we are dealing with a method actor and I notice a certain essence of Day-Lewis in him.
If DDL is his greatest reference, this movie certainly seems to agree with it.
Bradley Cooper has about much in common with Daniel Day Lewis, as Kevin Hart has in common with Richard Pryor.
@@daddy9925 which is to say, a lot? 😋
@@daddy9925you completely missed the point of OP’s comment
I see a good performance but the voice doesn't sound like Bernstein did in his later years.
The makeup however should certainly win all the awards going.
The way they film each era with a style unique to that era - as if with the same cameras and equipment and styles pulled straight from those given years - breathtaking.
There are some serious attempts to recreate Kodachrome film and Technicolor in those shots. Absolutely brilliant photography.
Cooper deserves a lot of credit for the choices he made. Movie truly felt like it was shot over a long period of time like Boyhood.
This movie is soooooo booooring. Piece of *****
So disappointed he didn't win the golden globe
0:10 My jaw fell to the floor on this shot. That’s some of the best aging makeup I’ve ever seen in a movie
SAME
Kazu is the best sculptor in the world and a very great man. I can't wait to see him hold another oscar for this one.
It's from the same guy who did the makeup for Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill and Charlize Theron as Megyn Kelly. Kazu Hiro is the man right there
Insane. He looks so much like Bernstein there as well.
That’s Bradley cooper??!!!
I've always loved Mahler's No. 2 and Bernstein has had the most undeniable passion for it. To see these married together in such an exquisite trailer is spellbinding. This is Cooper's Magnum Opus.
I remember Lenny's "Mahler era" when he was obsessed with him. It was great. When I was in college, our a capella choir sang Bernstein's Missa Brevis, which was one of my greatest experiences. I grew up with Leonard Bernstein and I really think Bradley Cooper has done a wonderful job with this film.
Absolutely phenomenal
I have been listening to the Bernstein conducted No 2 for 25 years. It gives goosebumps every time. Exhilarating. Overwhelming. Uplifting.
I personally think this is lame.
@@enzop2835when?
This trailer alone could win an Oscar. I just went through an emotional roller coaster just watching the thing. The editing, the soundtrack and screenplay of this movie trailer is top notch.....bruh
Sike 😂😂😂😂
As someone who has been waiting for this film since 2020, I saw the American Premiere of it at the Lincoln Center and it did not disappoint to say the least. What a beautiful work of art. Bradley Cooper is a feat as an artist. A phenomenal actor, writer, and director. He is purely unstoppable in this film. Carey Mulligan is truly a triumph and deserves every praise. Leaving the premiere of this made me feel so much I couldn’t sleep. Everyone CRUSHED it in this film. God I can’t stop thinking about it.
When I first saw the trailer for this, my jaw dropped. Bradley Cooper is a stellar director and actor, I can't wait to see this.
Wow, Lincoln Center, no wonder you couldn’t sleep.
Amazing 👏
Good to hear, I can’t wait to see it. It looks outstanding!
❤
I think we have my favorite cinematography of the year.
Blonde did it first.
It's gorgeous - just from the trailer.
Indeed
Oppenheimer, Flowers of the Moon and Maestro are all serious Oscar contenders next year.
And Barbie too
Man, should I say that I cried a little.. Bradley has beautifully portrayed the greatest ever composer- conductor, who introduced me to Mahler and somany great soul. Can't wait to catch it's screening.
Bernstein was a legend of his time, his artistry, talent and hard work having an impact on classical music during these years like nothing else! Can't wait to see the film!
I hope Bradley Cooper wins an Oscar for this movie, he’s been nominated for nine times, he’s long overdue.
He got a nomination. The competition is tough between Cooper, Cillian Murphy, and Paul Giamatti. CM seems like the best bet.
@@russ1422 Yeah after seeing the awards race at the Golden Globes Awards and the Critic’s Choice Movie Awards, it’s between Cillian Murphy and Paul Giamatti now.
This year is absolutely nuts with films and performances.
Bradley Cooper has been working on this film and his role in it for over six years. Can you imagine the courage and self confidence it must have required to take on the role of a once-in-a-lifetime American icon like Leonard Bernstein? My God, I can't even begin to imagine.
the finale to mahler no. 2 is my all time favorite thing i’ve ever heard so i am beyond happy that it is featured in this film
Bradley is once again showing off his amazing acting skill just like he did in silver linings play book
Saw him on the stage in London in Elephant Man, my God the man can act. Amazing.
Remember that joke in Family Guy about how Bradley Cooper is a talentless hack. Who's laughing now Seth Macfarlane?
@@D4rkKn1ght311I don't think he is the writer though. But people seem to forget Bradley Cooper voiced Rocket Racoon in the MCU.
Bradley Cooper earned my respect after silver linings playbook. That was a very hard character to pull off and he went above and beyond with it.. flawless performance
Now I'll watch anything with him in it
Terrific actor indeed
It looks absolutely incredible. Thank you Bradley for spending so much time working on this film, even before A Star in Born. This looks like one of the films which we will watch over and over again so we don’t miss anything. Genius.
The fact that films like this are being made isn’t to be taken for granted and we will be blessed to see it, I’m sure.
I just saw the premiere and then Cooper showed up for a q&a. His performance represents the importance of serious and dedicated work. He embodies Bernstein in every gesture and every word. Fascinating film!
Whoever decided to include Mahler's 2nd Symphony in this trailer needs a raise immediately.
It was Bernstein's favorite.
I'm so glad that this transcendent piece by Mahler will reach new listeners, thanks to Bradley Cooper (and, of course, the Maestro he is playing in this film). Even the trailer gives me goosebumps ...
Yes but why do they edit the music to fit the trailer, and not the trailer to fit the music.. it sounds very weird
The fact they used Mahler 2 for this trailer is just perfect! Had me in tears from the first chord!
Yawn
Visualizing the finale of Mahler’s 2nd symphony in such manner seen in this trailer is undoubtedly resulting in a very special movie experience. Can’t wait. Especially it seems that Bradley Cooper has adapted the essence of Lenny’s character into each Fiber of his soul!
They did a really good job with the makeup. Bradley really looks like Bernstein. Also his demeanor is on point. I hope they have a bonus behind the scenes where he makes Jose Carreras cry. 😂
So bullying is funny, is it?
@@martinstace8201 It is. Especially when it grills white knights on the internet.
When Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg are attached to a movie as the lead producers, you know it's going to be damn good
Except that being a producer means nothing… Spielberg has sold his name to many garbage movies so they could give him a producer credit. Now, is that the case here… no, not as much as other times… just giving you a heads up that producer credits on movies are usually meaningless.
I just saw it tonight. It IS that good!
Or a mess which this is.
That's an ASTONISHING trailer. It should win an award on its own right.
Let's not go overboard.
Proper oscar bait.
I saw it at the Paris Theater yesterday on West 58th street and was ripped open. Utterly beautiful heartbreaking. I could not sleep. I cannot stop thinking about it. Riveting. Art at its finest.
Fingers crossed Bradley Cooper gets an Oscar nomination.
His already did before with Silver Linnings Playbook, American Sniper, American Hustle, A Star Is Born...
Ha! Of course he will. Cooper has been nominated for NINE Oscars!
Fingers crossed he finally wins one. He has a lot of options with this one. I except a nom for Best Actor, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Picture.
he will get oscar
Fingers crossed he wins! Hes overdue
Why? Rhetorical question.
I've watched this movie at a film festival by now, oh what a lovely humane achievement, every single thing was priceless, all in all CAREY MULLIGAN, BRADLEY COOPER, you are one of the gems of acting that humanity has produced.
Bradley has really developed so well as actor! From a star is born to this, I’m glad he’s got into more serious roles
A Star Is Born wasn’t exactly a comedy.
@@Rugelacharugula It's a drama
Cooper will definitely be a front runner for an oscar for this role, calling it now.

Lenny was a great watch. Especially any video of his young people's concert originally broadcast on CBS on Saturday. It was instructional and uplifting. He was amazing and I thank Bernstein with helping me cultivate my love of classical music.
I just finished watching this movie... What a masterpiece this film is.. I mean amazing... and Bradley Cooper has outclassed everyone with his performance. I predict atleast 5 Oscars

I love the dialogue and how they filmed it. The Audio was amazing. It felt like they were genuinely from that era. Fantastic
Wow this really gave me the shivers. When he first spoke, it really sounds like bernstein and looks so much like him too. When I found out they were making this film I was so excited. I can't wait!
I spotted Bradley Cooper in the pit at the Met Opera a few years back as he was doing research for this film. Looking forward to this. Looks fantastic!
If nothing else, this film is going to bring Mahler and Bernstein into the spotlight again.
I’ve recently turned 30 and while I’ve adored Tchaikovsky, Bach, Wagner, I’ve never encountered Mahler before until now.
His 2nd Symphony, The Resurrection, is nigh on transcendental.
It honestly took me 10 minutes to watch the whole trailer since i kept rewinding each scene because of how absolutely beautiful and fantastic the photography and characters look. Incredible.
Yeah, the photography and editing are outstanding - on top of Cooper and Mulligan's superb committed performances. A terrific multi-Oscar contender!
Being a musician & having loved Bernstein since a late teenager...being able to see these 2 "trailers" has me enchanted!! I'm Soo excited to see it! Oscars, please! 🍁🎶
Which character is this movie based on?
That’s awesome! My cousin is a traditionally trained musician (vocalist and pianist) and is in the choir of this movie. I’m so excited for the celebration of music that this brings, even aside from how this stands as a movie. So glad it’s been made!
Saw it at NYFF, and it's my favorite of the year so far! Mulligan and Cooper are fantastic!
Big yawn of a movie, super dramatic for no reason lol
This epic film sent chills up my spine and broke my heart several times while simultaneously gluing it back together. Pure talent and chemistry between the leads and the beauty in the details reminds one of the intrigue of old Hollywood. I hope this movie cleans up at the Oscars. Bradley fully deserves every ounce of admiration for this incredible feat. BRAVO! ❤
I have fond memories of my dad playing me different live versions of Mahler's 8th Symphony and I always marvelled particularly at Bernstein's performance with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. So fitting that they used the finale for this trailer - probably the biggest sound ever orchestrated in classical musical.
This is the Finale of Mahler's Symphony no. 2... Named "Auferstehung" (Resurrection)
Bradley should win an Oscar just for the trailer 😊 He doesn’t even look or sound like himself. I didn’t know it was him until it was almost over……wowza 😮
Carey Mulligan always delivers.
Delivers yawns with her mediocrity and coldness that is
Bradley Cooper was absolutely robbed of an Academy Award for this film. Cillian Murphy’s performance in Oppenheimer is brilliant, but Cooper took it to the next level and is certainly the better choice!
The first chords of the Mahler make it all. And yes. I’m a huge music dork and am not prepared for how moving this will be.
This trailer absolutely took my breath away! Stunningly spectacular 💜. I can hardly wait❤️
Wow - It was great the hear Mahler 2 in the trailer. I've sung it many times with the Boston Symphony. At any performance, I can guarantee that a third of the chorus is crying at the end.
I love how they sit on the grass back to back laughing. Looks truly amazing the movie with such a great casts too 👍👍👍👍
Bradley Cooper has to be the most underrated director of this current century. No cap.
Carey Mulligan is a tour-de-force in everything, hopefully this gets her the Oscar she deserved for Promising Young Woman
Promising Young Woman or An Education should've been her Oscar win
@H1tchcock940 she was phenomenal in An Education, especially in that scene where she was up against Emma Thompson
She's a mediocre yawn
This movie was absolutely remarkable. Heartbreaking and beautiful.
Wow, just had the most amazing experience meeting Bradley Cooper via Radiant Reservation! 🌟 After watching his interview on Entertainment News where he mentioned connecting with fans through a private fan club, I couldn't believe I'd get the chance. Murphy as Oppenheimer, Phoenix as Napoleon, Brad as Bernstein and many more: this year the best actor academy nominations are gonna be one hell of a list. 🔥
Incredible camera work, editing and costume design. They really made the movie feel like it was filmed in the early 90s
Early 90's? I thought it was meant to look like Technicolor from the 1950-60's

We finally get our first look at Matt Bomer as David Opphenheim. He looks fantastic. I had been waiting for it for a long time. I can't wait to watch this movie! Bradley Cooper will also be amazing
Bradley Cooper is truly an amazing Director - he may be an even better Director than he is an actor and that’s saying a lot❤ can’t wait for this
Bradley Cooper é um ator mega versátil. Comédia, drama, ação. E um ótimo diretor. O cara é top.
Ive been a Lenny fan all my life. Also a Mahler fan, which he brought into my life when I was a teenager. Other kids my age were listening to rock, and I was listening to Mahler. Because of Leonard Bernstein.
When I saw the teaser trailer to “MAESTRO”, I couldn’t wait to see this movie. After seeing the official trailer……. I really can’t wait to see this movie. The cinematography from the black/white and color footage looks amazing, and Bradley Cooper is unrecognizable as Leonard Bernstein. I’m not waiting for December. I’m watching this on the big screen.
Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan already have the doors open to be nominated for her for best actress and him for best actor and director.
I hope they win it come awards season...
I thought the first scene was a stock footage of real Bernstein's interview.
That is... unbelievable.
This gave me chills. The music is hauntingly beautiful.

The only movie where i now certainly believe where anything can be achieved in the world of Hollywood... look at this movie i couldn't even recognise the actors...they were just magical
Amazing film!!!! I can’t wait to watch it again when it hits Netflix 12/20. A true masterpiece. I hope Bradley is proud of himself.
In March of 1989, Klaus Tennstedt made a last-minute cancellation of the Maher Second with New York Philharmonic due to his ailing hip. The conductor who stepped in was none other than Lenny! I was there and immersed myself with the music in one of Lenny's last performances of Maher 2. I will never forget it.
Bradley Cooper’s resemblance to Leonard Berstein is uncanny. The power and sheer beauty of makeup. This movie looks incredible. Berstein was a legend. Cooper is a legend. A legend playing a legend equates to perfection. I cannot wait to watch this movie!
I first saw Cooper in Hangovers, not long after it came out. Now seeing him in such role, with such an epic feel to it is just unbelieveable.

Amazing movie, should be nominated for best picture. The way Bradley Cooper transformed himself is just astonishing
It's freaking me out how much Bradley looks like him. Time for him to win that Oscar he should have won for A Star is Born.
His loss that year was as egregious to me as Green Book's win was to others.
Mate, a star is born oscar worthy? Are we watching the same things?
Silver linings play book is 100 times better than A lister is born. Sorry i mean an A lister is hired. No sorry i mean a music star is hired. So sorry i mean A star is born. 😂
He has to be nominated, first.
Speechless. What a trailer.
A lot of things being said about this movie, but one thing that has to be pointed out is how INSANELY good the prosthetics are. There have been a lot of movies that have tried to put aging prosthetics on actors, but it always ends up looking like a person in a rubber suit. Bradley Cooper looks 100% like an old man in this movie, you cannot tell it's prosthetics. No other movie comes close. Kazu Hiro, the makeup artist, perfected it.
I loved leonard Bernstein..I wanted to be a conductor because of him..I became a visual artist instead.Loved watching him..such passion!!

The fact that it won't have a theatrical release in my country kinda depresses me, though.
Oppenheimer, Maestro, Killers of Flower Moon this has been a very good year for Cinema, returning to its roots and storytelling at its very best.
Also progressive music inspired from everyday objects in Oppenheimer and now in Maestro elevates the gravity of the scene to another level. Would love to see this in theatres.
Oppenheimer NOPE! I have yet to see Killers of the Flower Moon but I hope Lily Gladstone gets awards for her performance.
@@wiinterflowers4277 I don't think you have seen The Oppenheimer and if you did probably missed the historical and practical implications of the event for humanity.
Oppenheimer is an extremely heavy film and if you know the chronology of events and how it's shaped the world we live in you will probably won't make that comment. Even if you don't relate that technical aspect and cinematic brilliance of Nolan and Co is hard to miss. But if you have prejudice against certain things it will cloud your judgement and same can be inferred from Lily Gladstone mention.

Given this being Nolan film i always expected it to deliver on technical aspects but damn it was HEAVY. It's just 3 Hr people talking and going back and forth and if you don't know the implications of Bohr, Heisenberg Feynman, Einstein, why they celebrated when Heisenberg went the wrong way you will enjoy it less. All the people mentioned here are legit rockstars of their field if you know about their contributions.
Not to mention the actor wasn't even Jewish in general! Nolan wanted to prop him up as this flawless human being because Chris Nolan is soooo in love with Cillian Murphy is beyond delusional and egotistical! They don't even touch on the effects of the bomb he made which I think is a big mistake! How anyone can say he's "good in the film," bitch you need to go watch some more movies because I nearly jumped ship at the three hour mark and laughed at the Gary Oldman cameo. Nolan cannot do anything good. He can't film sex scenes right, or even write women properly (when Emily Blunt gives a stronger performance than your main actor, your film is truly boring). Also where they hell are you grabbing this "prejudice," shit from?!? I don't think Nolan is as brilliant as your delusional stan butt or even any delusion morons claim; I didn't like Dunkirk, The Dark Knight Rises or the ending to Insomnia. And I've given crap to Scorese but at least he knows how to keep people's attentions unlike Nolan who's been high on his own ego and farts!
