Subscribed! EXACTLY the video I was looking for, just wanted to see what your strategy was for installing the flooring with tile on the wall, thank you!
What do you need to do if you have vinyl plank flooring existing but decide to tile walls? Just do it and the caulk it with the flexible stuff? Oh we have existing skirting, so that will have to come off I guess-then there will be a gap the width of the skiting which will be wider than the tile...Help!! Would we need to pull up plank and do it again?
That is a tough one. If the gap is within reason there might be some tile baseboard designs in the tile isle that might match your tile selection and you could use at the bottom (they are usually thicker). I would still leave a gap off the floor and use tile caulking that contains silicone. Hope you find something that works. Thanks for watching.
I would recommend going with matching grout caulk that has silicone in it so it flexes with movement. Usually near tile in big box stores. It is in a culking tube. Good luck and thanks for watching
Great question. I used the special caulk that matched the grout color (found same isle as grout). I would highly recommend this. I would caution to make sure to use the one that is silicone base so that it flexes with the movement of the floating floor. Thanks for watching and good luck.
I would recommend going with matching grout caulk that has silicone where the two meet, this will let it flex with movement. The floating floor needs to have the ability to move a little. This special caulk is usually near tile in big box stores. It is in a culking tube. I would recommend keeping an eye on that seam through seasonal changes to make sure it holds up over time. Good luck and thanks for watching
@@Weekendwarriorworkshop thanks for replying! ok so if i use silicon caulk i can push the boards as close as possible to the wall where the tile sits, and fill in with the caulk? or do i need to try to space it at all?
@Tuke Man Life and FItness I recommend checking the installation guide. Usually there is a recommended space around the edges where it meets the wall. What you described above is correct, however, make sure the other end of the floor has this movement space available. I left the gap on other side of the room and then finished off with baseboard to cover the gap but I did not have tile on the other wall. If you have tile walls all the way around, that is a tough one. If this is your situation I would try seeing if there are others out on UA-cam that have a solution for this.

What about using pro core plus onto tiled shower tub walls .What to use as a top coat over tile to waterproof prior to gluing the vinyl tiles up
We don’t have room under the tile! Any idea? We want to install vinyl plank too.

With your method of putting the vinyl plank under the tile, should I caulk the seam when finished or let the tile float?
