Short note of how LA Metro been doing: - 4 projects are being in place, one of which is newly and finally revamped study for the long-awaited Vermont Line. Other 3 being from; East San Fernando Valley line, Crenshaw/LAX line, and the Sepulveda line. - After the first section of the Purple/D line is completely done, the new heavy rail cars will eventually come in. - After with the Regional Connector being done for Blue/A & Expo/E lines, the Blue Line will head up to Azusa, and Expo (eventually becoming the Gold Line after the project) will head up to East LA. The recent downfall of LA Metro: - Recent spikes of violence and homelessness during the pandemic. - As of 4/20/22, they stated that they will not required to wear masks but as a recommendation anymore, ...til they reinstated the requirement to wear masks again two days later. :/ - The ridership, in spite of pandemic, is all-time low, imo, due to high rise in crime and with no police protection. - The Crenshaw Line may have been the disappointing project among all people, as in, they won't get the LAX station open on time but instead open it up in Late '23 or Early '24. The line will start from Expo/Crenshaw to Westchester/Veterans in late '22. The line will take up the rest of the Green/C line to Norwalk as a pilot in Early '23. Please know that the Crenshaw Line has been taking over a damn decade just to build 8/9 stations, only to fall behind with delays, and the reconstructions to build bridges over streets to avoid problems with traffic.

Aww they sound just like the older trains here in the dmv I would go to LA just to hear this miss those sounds but I heard it’s bad down there tho unfortunately
They also have a regualar old horn rarely used such as if someone is too close to the platform. Idk if they still use it, I haven't gone on there since 2017. edit: yep they still use em
I think the metro should keep the A650s for a while longer, specifically the AC propelled cars because they have been around since the late 90s compared to the DC propelled cars which are over 30 years old.

It looks like the stations have gotten dirtier and the homeless are down there more than ever. Hopefully it can get better
That’s true. I was just there a few weeks ago, and the trains were awful dirty and smelly then they were the last time I was there. I felt like I was sitting in dirt.
@aregua1 bro we were riding a recline train fron noho to union and we got delayed at least 20 mins because some guy kept opening the doors. We stopped in the tunnels at stations ect...

i'll never get tired of the sounds of the propulsion system of LA subway trains
ADJJDJXJDHBDHR
I always wait for my train to depart when I get off so I can hear that sound
Glad I’m not the only one who thinks the Breda A650 makes beautiful sounds, music to my ears!
Compare that to Nyct subways
@stigmatoxin1310: These trains also have the Nathan P3 horns in addition to the old Pacific Electric Air Whistles.
Damn, they sound like the old 1000 series Washington Metro trains. I miss those trains.

The new CRRC HR4000 trains have arrived in July of this year.
I hope they add more cops and employees to the system.
Agreed
The Hong Kong Police Force has a better place in LA Metro than anywhere in Hong Kong
The fact that they have a unwanted attention announcement tells you something about the creepy people that hangout down there.

Interesting that they use a old “steamboat” horn when entering the station…
Ye and its pretty rare that the engineers blow the loud one
They also have a regualar old horn rarely used such as if someone is too close to the platform. Idk if they still use it, I haven't gone on there since 2017.

@@fritzyboi6390 At 5:12. Good enough to scare the sh*t out of people lmao.
@@fritzyboi6390 they used to use that louder horn at first for their approach, not anymore sadly.

3:07 looks like a door malfunction
Edit nvm: looks like he pulled the emergency door release
The acceleration and deceleration of the trains sounds a lot like the older trains on the DC metro. Were they made by the same company?
the propulsion was manufactured by the same company, GE
@@FanRailer Cool.
LA subway will get new modern trainsets in the next few years.
Is LA metro and the city dangerous? I think it is

A650 is a derivative of the Budd universal transit vehicle that was used in Baltimore and Miami from 1983-2024.
They look so similar to Budd EMUs
Very cool I like los Angels metro 🚇🚆
Be careful down there. LACMTA is kinda suss nowadays. I still have love for it though and am gonna miss these Breda A650s when they get put away
OK, from North Hollywood to Union Station and Wilshire Blvd and western Avenue in Los Angeles
