In any sport, those go to moves that you learn by accident are the ones that keep bringing me back to the field/court,it truly is like building an arsenal of techniques/moves that you make your own and improve on,and you can always rely on them when you’re in trouble
This is such a good move because the law of physics are on your side. only way the defense can beat you on this one is either being much faster than you, or if help commits which can lead to an easy assist
3:39 Peep the heel tap before harden plants his foot, that’s what shifts his weight and causes the defender to fall back before he crosses and finishes. And also on 3:49 peep the foot tap twice shifting his weight
You can also do the opposite Fast-->Slow and bait a defender to foul you as they attempt to catch up from the initial explosion. (Works like a champ on over-aggressive defenders - they can't do nothing but watch you from the bench when they are in foul trouble).
Footwork is selling point more than anything. Never heard of a quick btl that can’t work though. Delay BTL works perfectly now because ain’t nobody playing defense anymore. Basketball meta changed. All of these defenders are flat footed. Flat footed = Go!!! Explode on em and take full advantage 💯💪🏾 Nice video highlights too.
I've been doing moves I never knew had names. You earned a sub, definitely hitting that bell. A quick behind the back after you pass them sends your average defender flying, no joke. Great video broham.
i would suggest lookin at steve nash hip swivel on this explosion on this type of move. He wouldnt put it thru his legs necessarily to set it up. Loading your hips and body during the slow part of the dribble will allow you to have a faster and stringer first step....great video
Professor has a great tutorial on this too how you want to shift your weight between front foot and back foot on this cross. Lamelo is amazing at this too
I developed this move naturally years ago and I'm glad this is being taught. I came across some great respectable athletic defenders during my time and this move, along with 2 others freed me from shackles everytime 🙏🏿🤣
One of my favorite move because you'll be able to read your defender easily and make a drive or even and 1 aside if the defender is holding you. I also learned this watching James Harden videos.
Is the counter move to the slow between the legs already planned before hand that you are going to do it or is it more an anticipation to how the defender reacts to the slow between the legs?
Great question. I'd look at it as a spectrum, not binary. At some point you choose that you're gonna counter with a cross. Sometimes it happens early, sometimes late. Sometimes it happens 10 seconds before. And sometimes it happens a split second before and it's a reaction When I do it I most often plan it before my BTL dribble and that way I can sell my BTL better so he'll react to it. Pretty sure that's how Harden does it. Sets it up so well and shifts the defender.
Technically yes, but the dribble is still integral to the move being more effective. The dribble hesitation is what throws the defender off. The footwork would only allow you get a step ahead, but not like you would be able to without the dribble
@@CoachFrikki i sometimes see players attacking the front foot as well not only the back foot. My question is when do you decide to attack which foot or based on how the defender behaves how can you know which feet to attack. Or does it not really matter which foot you attack?
i sometimes see players attacking the front foot as well not only the back foot. My question is when do you decide to attack which foot or is it based on how the defender behaves/moves you know which feet to attack? Or does it not really matter which foot you attack as long as you move Forward? Or is it more about on which side left or right from the defender there is more space open for you to drive?
This move in particular is usually a blowby on the back foot like DSJ does at 1:32. But the top foot can also work well. In general it's probably like 50/50 which foot you attack, slightly leaning towards the back foot I'd guess. Planning on doing some research and make a video about it. It's about seeing which way is more open, where your defender stands compared to your line to the basket.
Aye I made the cut!
Well deserved. Keep expanding that 🎒
Lol
🐐
💪🏾
idk how, u not even like that tbh very average guard nothing special about you
This move is so simple yet deadly, I happened to learn this by accident, and it became my go to move since then
Yea same here

Same. I 'accidently' learned it when i started learning between the legs move. Delayed tween made me easier to do btl at that time
@@ZaYn.91 it's those simple moves that are the deadliest when mastered 🙏🏿 keep working my guy 🙏🏿
@@gabrieldinglasan you too bro, thanks
This is my go to move. When I'm tired I can always count on this move working 🙂
A reliable go to move for sure 🔥
I'm ripping that all day 😈😄

Extremely effective move I use it everytime I hoop

NBA Legend Jeff Teague is the master
i'm now 30 and have learned so much from this channel than in my past 15 years playing basketball. noma sana.
Awesome dribble moves 💯 implement these in your game…def gonna have a full arsenal of moves

Nice film work... simple concise way to get that move ...a must for a slasher
Wow i can't believe it. This is literally my go to
3:26 "THE BEST DUO EVER"
3:40 blud look spooked haha the defender is like "wuh wtf is going on OH SH- I GOTTA RUN"

Excellent coach. We need to add this in our game.
Like dis move 💯 The Jazz sounds cool too 🤣✌
your videos are so useful
Hmmm 🤔 I like it lol...a quick one to immediately add in the 🎒 bag 😂
I used to do a lengthened version of this in HS...friends used to tell me the speed change was irritating.
that was what I lost after ACL surgery. now I can slow dribble all day without passing anyone.
thanks for the video been looking for a breakdown to make this my go to as an undersized gaurd
Simple and effective, change of pace.
Great video man Keep up the great work

I’ve never seen so many Jeff Teague highlights
Haha, dude was insanely quick. And had mastered his go-to move.
adeed to the moves bag
it's way quicker and faster when you lower your body. it was my go to move after all
Thank coach frikki!
Hey coach can you do a breakdown of jordan poole?
Might do one - I'm a Warriors fan.
Of all players
best ,thank you so much

Looks good ill try
The first time I tried this move I snatched ankles so thanks lmao
Great video!
Best video. Thanks.
Question: why attack the back foot for this move?
My favourite dribble move it always works I swear😂
Is the counter move to the slow between the legs already planned before hand that you are going to do it or is it more an anticipation to how the defender reacts to the slow between the legs?

3:40 James Harden traveling 🤣🤣
It's also a great move to setup a crossover.
For sure. Going slow BTL gives you time to read your defender. And it gives him time to fall for the fake.
It’s less about the ball (dribble) and more about the footwork. It’s the step that matters. With great footwork, you can remove the dribble.
Technically yes, but the dribble is still integral to the move being more effective. The dribble hesitation is what throws the defender off. The footwork would only allow you get a step ahead, but not like you would be able to without the dribble
Crazy part of it is this is just the negative step mentality with a dribble. Watch the footwork on both videos
Can you explain it to me?
very effective move for me
Why is teague there everywhere😂
NICEEEE 🔥🔥🔥
This has been my go to move and it's super effective from my younger years up to now that I'm a bit slow and older
appreciate u good stuff

Great video !
Music ?
i might need to put this in my bag. everyone now a days plays fast i cant keep up with kids these days lmao
Btw The song is called it’s near by DJ quads
I need this beat now!!!!!
Don't know the name of it sadly.
But you can download the clean audio from one of my older vids: ua-cam.com/video/K211eHk1wRg/v-deo.html
I'm gonna practice dominating on my left because that's where thr defender pushes against usually
BEST HANDLE BALL O.K
Man I used ti do this move in high school lol didn't realize it was actually "a move" eith a name 😂 its very effective and unsuspecting
i use this and if they over play i do a under drag and another is lift right delay tween invert drag and i snatch ankles
we want kd's hang hesitation tutorial🤣🤣
U gotta be 7 ft
wow mind blowing
My entire game revolves around hesitation so I think I was doing this without even realizing 🤣
This video is subscribe worthy
Thanks, got a lot of other good stuff too 👌
What does he mean with he doesn't react @2:38 i still see the defender moving?
I hardly reacted to the first 2 BTL dribbles. And he reacted way to late on that 3rd one leading to the blowby.
@@CoachFrikki i sometimes see players attacking the front foot as well not only the back foot. My question is when do you decide to attack which foot or based on how the defender behaves how can you know which feet to attack. Or does it not really matter which foot you attack?
Good breakdown. If James harden can pull that move off while being overweight then most hoopers can do the same
