Dublin was the only city I didn’t feel safe in after touring around the island. Every other city we encountered was clean and everyone so friendly then we got to Dublin. The streets were littered with trash and drug paraphernalia. People were still friendly for the most part, but not like the rest of the island. There was a riot after kids were stabbed. I don’t care to visit Dublin again.
As a third generation Dubliner I am totally ashamed of the state of our capital city. The government has allowed crime and antisocial behaviour to flourish. They should be so ashamed of their performance in office. What is their heritage- lawless, homeless and hospital crisis- well done lads and lassies in Leinster House.
Was also born and raised in Dublin 1964 . Been never one occasion I’d never felt threaten in Dublin was usually the safe space . Nothing but positive memories especially after we’d moved from D12 to D15 as had Phoenix park as our back Garden biggest in Europe 1,764 Sq miles same about of yards measures a mile . Yellow stone USA it’s the biggest enclosed park in world , Phoenix park second largest In world. Only Boston Massachusetts US is possibly as diverse especially when walking similar train .. ❤😢( sad these people feel threatened by sub human beings especially when these children are repeating adults talk .. Have noticed from 20010 Dublin became hot topic given Celtic tiger , noticed big intolerance towards immigrants especially from the uneducated section of society. Stated back old hates towards the very behaviour us Irish adopted to migrate them selves ( been one also in Wales 🏴) Certainly changed not for the better . Still love Hometown proud was bought up there as it was an eye opener from early age . Baile atha claith , Town of black pools as Irish language .
From NYC, born in 1972, but lived in Dublin in the 80s as a kid then moved back to NYC. Took my mates for a college trip in 1994 to Dublin. We stayed in North Dubin in the hostel. Wasn't too bad at the time but def we were targeted in the bars and clubs by tinkers and their women! I laughed at it. See, in NYC we could avoid crime by avoiding black and hispanics but in Dublin everyone looked Irish. Lol
The Irish ain't safe in their own city sure, I didn't hear the journalist ask if the woman was followed by an Irish person , I'd say the odds are another foreigner just my opinion
As a Brazilian living in Dublin, I feel very safe here and I don't see any point of changing the life here for South America again. Dublin is not just City Centre as Ireland is not just Dublin. If you're not happy in the capital, try moving to Cork, Galway, Limerick or Waterford. Simple.
Can someone explain how people from Brazil( I know there are a lot) end up in Ireland. Do they come over on a visa and overstay? Also not one Irish person interviewed. At least three of them had attitudes against the Irish. The cheek of them, you come into a country, don't embrace the culture or develop manners.
Wow! Not one native Irish person to be seen on the whole interview! Seeing this happening now all over Europe. Total disgrace for any Government to let this immigration situation get so out of balance. Sad times for the indigenous people.
I was born in Dublin in 2004 and have lived here since. My parents are from France though. I’ve been to France more times than I can count but from my experience of being in French cities, there is a good bit of military patrol in every city in France. But I have never seen military patrol my whole life in Ireland. This goes to show that other countries are making smart decisions to reduce danger.
Have met so many new migrants and visitors to Dublin who say they felt totally safe in Dublin and loved the city. Granted, like in any large city, there are issues with criminality but, overall, it is a safe city for the vast majority. Unfortunately however, as we see here, the national media appear intent on continually pushing a very negative narrative in relation to our fabulous capital city.
Just been for my 3rd long weekend there. Some really great places but sadly most of the city has become an absolute shitheap. Like many places really, but the open drug dealing, amount of homeless, bin bags everywhere - what a shame
What happen to that beautiful city, it’s always been Trouble in the city , extrme circumstances bring about disrespect especially upon visitors to still beautiful place to grow up in Really Miss hometown . U2 sums it up with tract entitled BAD ( awful plight upon Bally mun flats gottendistroyed by herion in 1989-2018 last in Ireland. Certainly was heading wrong direction..
It’s a mixed experience. Normally nine times out of ten I’ve no problems. Unfortunately a few months ago an addict tried to randomly punch me a bus stop on Dame street , I had no interaction with the individual before that so it was just bad luck.
Wtf. Not one Irish person in the whole segment. Oh by the way thanks so much for helping our economy but there's no need honestly. It's so sad that Brazil has become a war torn country. Nowhere is war free. It's just so sad 😞
Too many people have landed in to every city which draws also local criminals they go where the money is - London is the same but even worse Dublin will become London and there will very few Irish people left there either
As a Dub my city has become a disgusting expensive kip with scumbag teenagers controlling the streets and zero law and order.Such a shame
es un cuidad muchas caro por un viaje á cuidad

That is so sad.
I was brought up in Dublin.
It was a different country back.

Just spent 4 days in Dublin centre it is awful. Several attacks on tourists.
Wish I could have a place on Camden Street go home where you belong
Why not interview the IRISH??????? We clearly see the agenda at work here
The Irish ain't safe in their own city sure, I didn't hear the journalist ask if the woman was followed by an Irish person , I'd say the odds are another foreigner just my opinion
Crime always starts as petty and if left unchecked then escalates. Best to listen to these people and sort it out.
When are you going to do Irish People?

France? Bitch please ^^
Hate the place ,a soulless generic place these days.
All part of the Euro plan of historical and cultural raping and replanting. Individual Identity is huge threat to those who see you as a commodity.
I moved here a year ago- my advice is don’t make the same mistake as me. It’s genuinely horrible, I can’t wait to leave.
What country are you from ?
Are there any irish people Same with St Patricks day Parade everyone the reporter spoke to was foreign
Where's the actual Irish people
Amy Irish people in Dublin to ask or all foreigners available
but brazil is far more dangerous than Dublin.........
No Irish people interviewed.
Is there any Irish people left in Dublin?

There is a lot of paranoia out there too

Yes tourists will take their euros and spend elsewhere.... I am going too.
