I have it, it is a fun tool but one still has to fix and tweak quite a lot. I like that I can feed my own chord progressions too not having to only use the presets, then it feels much more my own creation. It is a bit like those paintable blank puzzles. You have the pieces there to be put together but you make the picture and atmosphere of the puzzle yourself and fit the pieces together yourself. And also learn some theory while doing it. But at least for me it takes a lot of time to "roll the dice" for the parts I like. But it is fun anyway. But I would not create a whole song using it only. Plus unfortunately eventually some parts start to sounds similar no matter the progression because there is only limited amount of patterns no matter how random it creates them. I mean I could take two completely different chord progressions and they still sound similar because of the pattern. There comes the time for to change things yourself. It is great for giving ideas which one can develop further, but it wont create a full song for you..Which is a good thing though. You still need to use ears :D

Very much a ver1. Fine if you just what to churn out generic backgrounds, but needs far better integration with the host sequencer and a much less clunky sequencer of its own to use it as a starting point for further work. So a bit of a toy, fun to play with but as yet not very usable.

Thanks for the review. Is this tool possibly a good way to teach chord/scale fingering and transitions? I bought it on sale and am struggling with routing for MPC 2.10 largely due to general novice, so if you have any advice I would appreciate it. Also, I saw an interesting video where the author was chaining instances of instacomposer somehow for more complexity. This software has the ability to receive input from external sources I believe, it would be interesting to set it on an ever evolving input output loop and see what happens.

Now we are still dealing with the initial stage of development of such software. But the revolution is just around the corner. The evolution of AI algorithms is going by leaps and bounds. And those utilities that are now based on simple models of machine learning (and more often conventional algorithms) will seem ridiculous to us. We live in a world that has gone crazy, but in a very interesting era in terms of progress, which, however, is already making many people "unnecessary".

Take a deep breath and untwist your panties, my dude. Music production is for everyone but not everyone has the time to learn everything about music theory and composition. Plugins like this allow people who've learnt some basic music theory to get something started that they can then edit, which is less intimidating than staring at a blank piano roll with no idea where to begin. Some people do music production as a hobby and have limited time to spend doing it, so something makes the initial idea process more efficient is a win for them. What we can all do with less of is people gatekeeping.

If you´re not able or willing to teach yourself the basics of music theory, than you have chosen the wrong hobby! These plugins are only made to rip off beginners or your so called hobby producers. If you want to drive a car you have to do a driver license, you won´t get it by using a driving simulator software. If you´re into any music related hobby or creating, studio, producer, engeneering buissines you need to have to know music theory & come on that is really not a tuff one to learn, it´s simple and very easy.
