[2.1] "Real Travel" (Sneak Peek #3) | MY UPCOMING 15 MINUTE EXTREME DEMON LEVEL

- It's been exactly a year since I published Monolithos and started working on Real Travel, the 15 minute extreme demon project. And now, the first 31% of the level has been fully decorated. Using under 90k objects, only 194 group IDs in total, and thousands of hours of effort put into the level to make it look as good as possible.

In case you're actually reading the description, I just wanna let you know that I'll be putting this project on hold for now due to me working on the NCS Gauntlet Contest level. I'll be continuing this project once I'm finished with my NCS Gauntlet level. Wish me luck! Hopefully I can finish the level on time this time!
P.S.: I've decided to give up on the NCS Gauntlet Contest level and go back to the Real Travel project. Expect more progress of this soon! I'll be actively livestream my building process of this on my Twitch channel. Be sure to check my Twitch channel so you don't miss out on what's going on!
DISCLAIMER: This footage was recorded in Geometry Dash 2.204, not 2.206. Since MegaHack and Geode are still working fine there. Macros were used during showcase. All the building process were all technically done on 2.11. That means no 2.2 features, ever. Also, stuff shown in this sneak peek may be subject to change in the final showcase, depending on feedback.

The real travel level looks very good, it shows that you worked for a long time on this project, I think it will be more difficult than butiti 3 (thanks Jonathan GD for all these great levels, you are my favorite creator)
This will be my favorite level ever made.
the second half looks like audio waves combining with the deco and gp of the level I love it

Very, very good work! Liked the energy and movements in the dark wind part. Dual dark part's black design is simple, but pretty nice. Didn't like the 1:32 part very much, but I think it's just me. (Though the stars are pretty cool ngl) And 2:00 part is amazing. Great one!

Some block design are bland tbh, like the dual, just adding something into it would make it much better
Also the first part's background feels empty IMO. There could be some improvements there. Still an amazing level nonetheless. Keep it up!
i dont know what is your vision for the level, but the dull colors are a bit sad looking; the values for the colors are so bland too, it could be more deep than that, i dont know if that's something you're looking for..
The boxed in edges make me think that Johnathan plans to do something similar to Well Rested where the level opens up, and this will also be combined with an explosion of colors! I think that’d be absolutely phenomenal
2:10 This is probably my favourite part. The way the robot gameplay syncs so well with the orbs and the piano and the cube transition to the wave just looks freaking badass. I just cant wait to play this level!

I also love the way the background moves at the transition into the wave. like a machine switching gears or something. reminds me of the gear tunnel thing in the 30 something ufo in dark odyssey

I’ve watched this like 5 times now, but it would be cool if there were more “constellations” in the single mini ship, there’s only the one at the very start of it.
The dual mini ships really benefit from them in my opinion.
the problem is that there’s not much room in that section. since it’s a single ship, the spikes make tighter gaps and cover more of the screen, but with the dual ship, there’s more room for those constellations

@@Haxx0rZ- The deco wouldnt be mythic worthy for an average length level, but this level is going to be almost 15 MINUTES long, which is almost 15 times longer than most levels.
Watching this level transform into its decorated state is insane. I can't wait to see what you do with your NCS level!

There's always something so special about Jonathan's levels, he manages to keep every level fresh and unique but you can just always tell if a level is made by him from the gameplay and structuring. Jon if you see this comment PLEASEEE teach me to create like you, I've always wanted to be a good creator and you've been my idol for that since you released Dark Travel!
Love this, especially the second half!! One idea, for the part with the piano, an effect over the gameplay with notes that appear along with the song would go crazy
Imagine if there was sheet music that showed the song arrangement just below the actual gameplay
That already exist, in the block design there are flashes for every note that are very faint

Considering 2.2 has added a way to have up to 10 songs in a given level, we could very well see ~1:30:00 long action-packed levels that have zero filler, which is going to be super cool. Can't wait to see what the legendary travel level maker himself does with this, even though I personally still prefer the kinds of levels that only use one song.

The movwments in 1:32 part feels weird plus they look kinda bland and empty also hope the obj is well optimized cuz if the obj are 80k rn thats a lot but other than that looking great love the part with the grass and the yellow shiny blocks
so if this truly made only in 2.1, then this is gonna be the last PURE 2.1 level ever in GD History.

I'm so excited for this level! Keep it up! Also the dual part is sick! Maybe during that dual part you could perhaps add sparks or structural breaking along the moving metal blocks, kind of like how RUST does it near the start of their level with the music. I might be wrong but I think it would add some heat and intensity to the otherwise grey and black style. Also the border thing you do where it grows and shrinks is awesome! Keep doing those for sure!

Deco is great but this looks unfun as hell. Just the thought of dying 14 minutes into a level with claustrophobic gameplay and so many timings is enough...

This is one of the most anticipating projects that I have also witnessed in GD. And I'm genuinely impressed about everything at this level. And gosh, an extreme demon level that is 15 minutes long? It's definitely awesome!

This level is looking really cool so far but I have some issues with it. In the 10-19% part I feel like there's too much going on especially with the flying particles. I think there are better ways to match the intensity of the song that that but for now I'd suggest lessening the amount of particles flying across the screen. The second part is really cool even though it isn't the best design wise, I think the effects are pretty neat. The last part is my fav tho... Man I really didn't like the old version of it (especially with the yellow pulse) but man you nailed the background and colors. Anyways hyped to see more progress and goodluck on finishing this.
